Is 1000 words too long for a paragraph?

Possibly? I just glanced through some of my own papers I've written, and on average a paragraph would be 200 to 400 words long. I'm thinking there's probably somewhere in there that you could split it to make it easier on the reader. ^^

Edit: oh, wait. It can only be one paragraph long? You might want to shorten it... otherwise it'll just look (and read) like a wall.

Unless you have max 200 words per sentence, you need to break those paragraphs up. A paragraph should be no more than 6 sentences long, minimum 3. Sadly, tons of famous stories break this rule and I'd hate to see another person follow suit.

That's just the basic paragraph structure they teach you in grade school. In actuality, a paragraph can be as short as a single sentence, especially if that single sentence is long (or in Cushing Biggs Hassell's case, 3 whole pages. And when you get to high school or college, the maximum length increases to 10 or more. This is a guideline of what a 10 sentence paragraph format looks like.

So then why the hell is my school making me read that racist and homophobic ass Huckleberry Finn book in school?
