Depends. Spotify costs me $5 as a college student. They make it hard to want to go anywhere else.

Besides Spotify is $10 a month as well. Why bother changing?

Depends on what music Apple will have available. As for now, kpop fans should not bother with spotify, as their kpop library is close to non existant.

Time will only tell if Apple Music will have a wider range of genres than the competitors have.

i think has a shot at posing a threat....

i'm sure Apple will figure out a way to make the streaming service very convenient for Iphone, Itouch, and Ipad users...

Apple managed to be a successful online music retailer in the age of piracy, despite other similar services having existed for ages.

In general, I don't stan for many groups. All of my faves are on spotify including the groups I listen to on rare occasion

(EXO, Red Velvet, EXID, BigBang, and SNSD eventually when they make a release)

It's just going to be hard. Google has Youtube yet they weren't able to convert those users to Google Play Music. I have similar doubts that Apple will be able to convert ITunes users to their music streaming if they couldn't even get Apple Radio to work out.

Even if you are a big name or have big name involved, consumers don't just automatically switch services.

People follow Apple like sheep's, whatever they say are the best freaking thing in the universe. This service will be a success based on how many people that use apple products alone.

I for one, am super happy that Apple decided to ship Apple Music to android devices as well, will make life easier for us who use iTunes as our music player.

And here I am, wanting a free music streaming service.

It won't get any better than Spotify's free option. Labels are already pushing for Spotify to abandon it.

I'm certain it will be a "threat" in the sense that it will be widely successful. People say "what can they offer other services can't?" The truth is it doesn't matter. What matters is that they're Apple. People used this same argument against the Apple Watch and look how successful it already is, even more so compared to other smart watches. Apple's pull is huge.

If it can stream every music already available on the iTunes store regardless of country or language, then it is already better than Spotify for me.

I believe they did say this is the case. Not sure if you can stream from every country but I can't imagine you wouldn't be able to.

The issue with streaming is that the more services there are the less money each one will make in a mature market. No one's going to subscribe to multiple streaming services. This combined with exceptionally high operating costs for streaming make it pretty hard to have a successful service. Netflix has been successful in America since it has no real competition, but it's still losing money in most international markets. Apple's advantage is that they already have the infrastructure and data centers needed to set up a streaming service.

I'm skeptical of streaming's viability, but it is good to see that Apple's leadership isn't completely constrained by Steve Jobs vision for the company anymore.
