She was better than Yuri and the 2nd best in the group. She even outperformed Hyoyeon occasionally.

 

Not sure about best overall but for females it is potentially Hyoyeon if you use Pinklett's criteria.

Worst dancers are probably Jessica/Tiffany/TOP maybe? There might me some worse ones out there that I'm not aware of.

how can you say that Jessica is the worst dancer aren't you contradicting yourself? you just said that she was a good dancer

What do you think of this performance of 2NE1 predebut?

 

 

 

I know their not considered very good dancers groups-wise but I'd really like an analysis of this

 

They were really good dancers. They worked it in this video. I would say that I didn't know Bom had it in her. She was really a highlight in this video as well as Minzy.

I don't know much about dancing but I do know a lot about 2NE1 and this is my analysis of their dancing

 

Minzy is obviously the best and she gotten better IMO since this video. She was young here, I think about 13-14. Now I think she's grown into her body and her dancing has improved

Dara's dancing is always slightly awkward. I think she's improved since this video as well. I find her dancing less awkward these days than before. What I've noticed about Dara's dancing is that even if her moves don't looks exactly right, she usually hits them well. I'm not sure how to explain it. What I mean is that she's the least prone to mistakes- may except for Minzy in 2NE

Bom definitely has more of a sense of rhythm than Dara and when she practices really really hard I think she can be  quite good but she also has two biggest flaws. Her first flaw is that it takes her a really long time to learn dances and she's prone to mistakes and her second flaw is that she has a tendency to be lazy with her dancing. That's is one of the biggest differences between Dara and Bom. During their dance rehearsals for Clap Your Hands both of them had trouble with this hand motion for the dance

Dara practiced really hard on it and was able to get better at it. Bom was never really able to pick it up. That being said, Bom at her best is better than Dara at her best but Bom at her worst is far worse than Dara at her worst. Around the time they debuted Bom > Dara now currently Dara > Bom

CL the second best dancer in 2NE1 but she was better during pre-debut/debut era. Since a lot of 2NE1's choreography isn't too challenging, I don't think she practiced enough to keep her skills up. Her biggest strength is definitely her charisma. There are people who when they see both Minzy and CL dancing that think that CL's the better of the two because they can't help but to focus on her. 

 

Let me know what you think of my analysis and how off I am.

At least Tiffany tries and she puts effort (occasionally) in her dancing and has more enthusiasm than Jessica. Jessica is LAZY, how could you judge her dancing when all she does is to walk and dance some sloppy/lifeless/half-assed moves.

first of all, i actually agreed with your analysis. what i like the most of bom is her moves flow decently, while dara's look kinda awkward. can i blame her being too skinny? i had a problem like this when i was 41 kg, i looked like a skeleton dancing haha. remember the case when yuri lost her weight and her dancing looked fragile in mr.taxy? that kinda reminds me of dara's case.

 

anyway, i have watched that video many times, so i still can picture cl's dancing. what's really good about cl is just like you said, her ability to capture people's heart. she has that good charisma while dancing. her power is pretty huge too. DYLM practice proved it. i noticed that people tend to focus on someone having bigger energy than others. ex : im watching two people dancing, one has bigger energy than the other one, i tend to focus her (of course she/he doesnt always exaggerate her/his moves) cl's dancing is pretty less fluid than minzy (but it doesnt mean her dancing isnt fluid) but her moves are bigger and sharper. tbh, she should just tone it down a little bit, just a little bit, she doesnt have to dance powerfully all the time. idk how to rate her, but she's really good. she knows how to put right emotion for every dance.

Nobody said that Tiffany is a better dancer. Everybody knows Fany is the worst dancer in Snsd even herself admit it but Sica has been really lazy so even tho she has better dancing skills (technically) than Fany, she has yet to prove it since she's slacking. It's not just enthusiasm, Jessica's skills have depreciated in pretty much every aspect, including her rhythm, technique, musicality, flow, control, stage presence etc. I really hope she does improve because she still has potential.

Bom definitely has flow. You've probably seen the ME2DAY video when she's practicing Taeyang Only Look at Me dance. Even though she's not hitting some of the moves that well, it doesn't look awkward. I agree with you that one of the biggest reasons Dara looks awkwards is because of her weight. During debut era she said she weighed about 40kg and she's definitely lost weight since then. I think the IATB era was when she was the thinnest and IMO, that's when she looked the most awkward dancing.

 

Thanks for giving me your analysis of CL. Many of the things I've noticed too but I was glad I was able to get a second opinion of CL.

its funny cause years and years ago when I first saw this (before I got into kpop actually) I thought CL worked it so much better than Minzy but now (that I am older and have grown as a dancer) I see just how well Minzy did. She def. outdanced CL here
