Sometimes. I mean, would you be enjoying someone that is dancing with literally no emotion on their face and they look like a robot, or someone that is actually showing emotion while dancing

I agree with itsquinnbro. Apart of dancing would definitely be emotion and with that comes with facial expression. Your dancing should tell a story and you can't tell a story with no expression.

Tks :P

Another question, do most standard dances have a fixed expression? Fixed as not in unchanging, but more like facial expression that is usually used...

Yeah 4minit has had pretty simple choreos but they do them well and know how to work a stage.

And I'm a bit biased.

Hehe I'm also biased towards them because I know they have what it takes. I absolutely enjoy their dance stages. It also helps that majority of them can dance really well.

You're welcome :)

Well from the dancing that I do, I will only say that J-Setting is the one that has a fixed expression. You have to always look fierce and smile.

As far as the others go,I think it's all mostly based on the song you're dancing to or what type of feeling you're trying to give off to the audience. Did you lose a lover to another person? May be best to have a sad face at dramatic parts. Are you happy because you've gained a new love? May be best to have a happy face and big smiles. Do you get what I mean?

People usually say how Hyuna's dancing is all about leg spreading and that sexual face, but in fact she's much more than that. Her Dancing with the stars videos prove it all.

Yeah. It's mostly from people who don't follow 4Minute closely or taken the time to watch HyunA's dances closely. She's known as a sex icon and people use that to overshadow her actual abilities.  :donthinkso:

Great thread ^^ A question here. Is Kpop dance really a dance genre? If it isn't, which genre of dance would it fall into? Urban?

I actually wouldn't consider KPOP Dance a dance style. It just happened to be in the list that I copied and pasted. It's more into the Jazz Pop thing.

^ Does Jazz Pop = Street Jazz? I actually liked street Jazz a lot even before I came into Kpop and I noticed some similarities between kpop dances and Street Jazz :)

Street Jazz is a mixture of Hip Hop and Jazz. I'm not exactly sure about Pop Jazz because I never heard of that myself. (Again, just something that was in the list I copied and pasted)

It all depends on whic group ur talking about because each group is different.
