It may have some not so positive consequences later on in life , it decreases your libido . Thus if you masturbate too much , you might have less sexual drive in the future . Ask almost any guy and he will tell you that masturbating regularly decreases and sometimes even completely eliminates nocturnal emissions. The fact that there is no link, it's probably because there are not enough studies and interest on it. Though it doesn't mean that empirically speaking there isn't a correlation. I would trust a doctor, not a therapist, but it's not surprising that even a knowledgeable person doesn't know everything about sexuality- it's a terribly broad subject.
