I made a post about SM should do rap release for the SM station. It seems my post was heard since the women ( who's name idk) is going to release a song. But I know she is a rapper.

 

Yoon Mirae and her group did some collaborations with EXO and RV since last year.. Hmm wondering what happened bts, who knows maybe they could teach the trainees the right rap lessons 

 

I might as well post here since about like the majority of the kpop groups I like are from here. I sorta like everybody from SM and if i ever actually get to have a korean vacation, i really wanna go to the SM atrium thing they have at that co-ex mall.

Hey everybody, I'm Elly. I've decided to join ya'll in this long but not forgotten thread 

 

We're only 30k replies behind JYPnation and 60k replies behind YGfam threads, we're at 500 so I think we're catching up   

 

But two quick things

 

1. I wonder if ppl with SMtown badges requested would like to join this thread so it's less dead (...could message them possibly heh)

 

2. There was a suggestion of a "Weekly SM Station guessing thread (won giveway)" thread. This was suggested way back and was positively received... but nothing came out of it. So I decided to become the first to start this weekly thing since Tasha just came back and there's a full week of guessing   Thoughts? I'm thinking of having it as a 100k or maybe 200k prize thing. (but I don't have funds yet...)

Kenzie is one of their in house producers. So stations isnt just for the idols but for producers and composers too

Btw OP, what do you prefer to be called as? It's strange to have to refer to you as "op" or "you" and it'd make things 10x more convenient since I see in other threads besides this one and I can't call you OP there.

Imo just change your username to "Hearts" or something.

Meh, there's pretty negative correlation for YG too. But we still get shaded too   I guess this thread just never took off + SM doesn't really have signature sounds like YG or JYP to attract other fans in same company + OP and users of other threads are very very active.

I thought sm signature sound was like Eda pop, jazz, and ballads.

I'm very active (*≧∀≦*) I'm waiting for a designer to message me back of the things I sent to her on how I would like the op to look like, but it has been a few days now. I have another designer if she doesn't email back soon.

 

I mean right off the top of my head, fx last comeback was house-ish, snsd last cb tried edm the first time but that was 1/3 title tracks, Taemin wasn't any of those, Shinee last cb was house-ish, BoA wasn't any of those, I don't know what to classify RV, as and exo wasn't any of those.

SM doesn't have a signature sound, that's the thing :P They always outsource multitudes of foreign producers and a variety of demos from old and new tracks alike. Their in house producers also always do different sounds.

 

- I mean that's why especially SNSD and Shinee don't have signature sounds either. They always come back with something quite different from their last comeback. Some of the most diverse concept groups in kpop imo  

- I'd say Exo and TVXQ to a certain extent too but Exo is more like ballads + electro dance tracks these days. Suju is changing things up since Mamacita and with their solos.

- F(x) has the closest thing to signature sound but they're the most experimental paradoxically

- We'll see about RV, I'm excited where they'll be going with their sound

 

I think you're right about Ballads on B-tracks being an SM staple though. Sm ballads are amazing imo

I'd like to think that SM has a big dance sound. They rarely comeback with ballads. They are big on dance.
