The idea of a SMTOWN thread is so awesome to me but still kinda bizarre. I'm a HUGE SMstan and I love allllll of SM's groups and coming groups but I guess because most of the fans I see don't seem united...somehow it still doesn't feel like a united company to me. Even after going to SMTOWN! I hope my time on this thread will change my mind.

This is old news but I went to SMTOWN in Tokyo this year. I figured I'd share my fan account but since its SMTOWN I thought I'd post it here.

 

 

 

 

This weekend I went to SMTOWN IV in Tokyo!

IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

I didn't get tickets to Saturday's show sadly. I heard it was good but one of my friends who went had really horrible seats. :/

I went on Sunday though! It was raining all day and much colder than Saturday so it was kinda miserable waiting in line for goods etc but we managed. My seats were also in the rain but that didn't stop me from having a GREAT time!

I had no idea SMTOWN was like that!!!! I loved that there were 4 stages and they ran around the external stage a lot. The concert itself was 4 hours long and the stages were constant. It was really difficult to decide what to do. Watch groups enter/exit stages or watch the current stages. XD I decided to throw my cares to the wind and cheer to my heart's desire. Good thing too.

Turns out a lot of people in my section only came to see one or two groups mainly TVXQ or SuJu and showed almost no spirit during other stages...I, on the other hand, was standing/screaming/dancing/singing along with every group even the rookies in fact pretty sure I was the only one who knew all the rookies' names and songs. It was BY FAR the most amazing concert I have ever been to in my life. I will FOR SURE go to SMTOWN V!!!!

My friend got arena seats and had a blast too but I think my seats were the best. or maybe if it had been 2 rows back so I wouldn't have been in the rain... because I could see everything that was going on. I got to see all the stages plus I was close enough to see them clearly when they came by and I could see the motion of the crowd. It was really amazing watching the crowd change colors during different performances. It was beautiful. It was fun seeing how different groups/songs have specific penlight movements too. My favorite was watching TVXQ's Keep Your Head Down. So awesome watching the unified motion of the arena seats dropping their red penlights. So amazing ;A;

Some notable things that happened imo.
Super Junior:

• All the members were standing under the stage protected from the rain and Kangin suddenly was like 'It's raining so hard. Our fans are you cold? Are you ok? You are being strong for us. We should do the same.' and he walked out onto the outer stage into the rain and told the rest they should come out too. It was really endearing. I had never known much about him but that was such a kind gesture. Some of the other members seemed a bit annoyed/hesitant to step out but they all did.
• During one of the songs they were running around on the outer stages and Leeteuk fell. TT___TT I think he may have broken his tooth because he instantly put his hand to his mouth and walked over to Kangin. He showed his mouth/teeth to Kangin who instantly started laughing uncomfortably and looking sorry. From that point on Leeteuk kept his mouth closed. >_>;;;
• I have come to the realization that SuJu is absolutely the CUTEST group I have ever seen. They are so playful and silly during their talking and stages. They were constantly acting stupid and messing around.
• Leeteuk, Heechul, Siwon and Donghae are the obvious biases of the Japanese public.

TVXQ:

• This isn't so much something that 'happened' so much as something I noticed. Changmin isn't very popular in Japan...He's my TVXQ bias but everytime Uknow did something the crowd LOST IT but when Changmin did something there was absolutely no reaction. It was really sad.
• At one point Uknow moved in really close to Changmin face to face like he was going to kiss him and Changmin shoved him away XD

Girls Generation:

• 'Sunny sang Jessica's Part'. I heard there has been some drama about this and I just have to say. They left a space for Jessica in their dances and her singing spots were silent. It was really awkward and I think Sunny just got in the moment. It's not even like she stepped up and busted out singing. She lightly sung under her breath ONCE. It could be she always sings a lil to herself behind Jessica's voice or that she is so used to hearing it that she just slipped up. Either way it wasn't like she was trying to replace Jessica.

SMROOKIES:

• I felt so sorry for them. SMROOKIES got absolutely no reaction from the crowd besides myself. They had the 5 older boys sing as spaces between EXO's performances and it was so depressing to see the lively loud crowd instantly quiet after each EXO perf. :/
• ALL OF THE ROOKIES PERFORMED!!!! except Lami who I don't remember seeing. I was so surprised/excited to see the younger boys (Mark, Jeno, etc) and Yuta/Ten! 
• ALSO! They finally showed us 6 more female rookies!!! Jeesoo, Herin, Koeun, Yeri, Hina and Winny! They were so cute! When the leader I'm guessing went to speak and introduce herself her hair was soaking wet and stuck awkwardly across her face. The crowd laughed but she didn't attempt to wipe it away and just continued speaking. I really love them already. XD

SHINee:

• Taemin stripped XD It totally caught me off guard even though I knew it was going to happen. He took off his shirt and sand barechested. Our Taemin is Taeman for sure. RIPMYHEART
• During one of the stages, the stage lifted and they were dancing. Despite that it was raining really hard Onew danced on the edge of the stage. I was totally stressing!!!! That boy needs to be more careful!!! He was just a ball of careless adorableness.

EXO:

• They were everything I expected them to be. AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Despite being only 10 members they really gave it all their all. <3 However, I was a bit sad. Because Luhan wasn't there Xiumin was extremely quiet. He barely spoke and didn't really act cutely towards the other members.
• When they were trying to give their introductions Tao couldn't remember what to say. It was so cute how frustrated he got with himself. D.O also messed up but after a moment of looking annoyed he remember what to say. Both were super adorable!
• The stages were all really wet so I was really worried about Tao. He did the MAMA move without issue but he fell when he did Overdose. TT___TT my poor bb.
• At the end Xiumin 'flew' around the outer stage running with his arms out like a plane. Totally adorkable hyung. <3

f(x):

• They left the space for Sulli but I think I remember Amber covered her parts? Can't remember >_<
• Krystal seemed really tired. I think she's just been really busy from her drama schedule.
• LUNA IS SO SEXY!!!! Luna did a solo dance and OMFG! That girl is seriously sexy. I am pretty certain I was blushing haha but I don't look down on her for dancing sexy. She deserves it. She's a woman now and a very very VERY amazing one. 

Kangta / BoA / J-Min:

• Kangta and J-Min didn't get much response from the crowd but both were amazing imo. I was singing along happily.
• BoA is more popular in Japan and when she talked her Japanese was really really good. She was really cute and was the first to be really worried and funny about the horrible weather. Her hair was soaking wet but she just laughed it off said it was cold and that she would do her best for us who are suffering. ^^ <3 

Mixed:

• At the end D.O and Ryeowook walked around the stage arm in arm *A* I love them soooo much!

So much more happened but since it was a 4 hour concert + cold + rainy + tired I can't remember it all. Overall it was just totally amazing and I am so happy that I got to go. I really love SM and all their artists. You really get to see how dedicated and loving idols are in times like this. I felt very touched by their dedication to the fans. They apologized to and thanked the fans multiple times for suffering the rain and worked their hardest in return.
