What is it with new releases using sounds that I've heard before? I had high expectations for day6 and n.flying but their new releases sounds like smth I've heard before. Sampling is not a new thing in the music industry but usually it's done with a bit of individuality. and don't get me started on those bg who use similar rap tracks to make them sound "rough".

TWICE can pull off their new matured concept well. It really shows their diversity and more GC side of them. I am not sure how unpopular this is , but I am just very sick of people saying they can't pull off their new concept.

A major part of the reason for their "decline" is because fans are more attracted to their old, cuter concept from 2016-2019 (plus there are so many new ggs with the GC concept), NOT because they can't pull off their new one. In other words, TWICE's trademark was definitely their bright bubbly concept; which was marketed towards their fan boys / girls. Now that their trademark has shifted, their types of fans will change along with it. Now I am not asking you to change your opinion on Twice, I am just stating that I believe TWICE are truly comfortable in their new concept.

for the love of god can bts please stop releasing horrible english songs. they are trying so badly to break into the mainstream radio market and it makes me cringe. they had such great music, they’re talented… why are they completely selling out their authenticity? just keep singing your nice Korean songs and please don’t even release a song written by Ed Sheeran again.

Proud to be an old K-Pop fans.

In my era, the MV views were real; the music charts no.1 were real; the music shows no.1 were real.

Foreign fans have no voting power.

No mass streaming, no illegal streaming, no zombie streaming.

 

Still fandom fighting though, but mostly from local Korea fandom, not international fandom.

Yet, still much cleaner than today K-Pop cultural.

I am glad LOUD, the audition show by PSY and JYP, is not getting hot respond from the public.

Audition show should stop for at least several years.

Don't know how unpopular this is given everyone knows about Snaknet/Mnet but one of the issues I have with these Mnet talent/audition shows is that I am now 95% convinced they are ALL fixed and will continue to be. This coming from someone whose first bias group (and still ultimate today) is IOI and that was mostly because I saw and was able to root for the team being formed from the ground up (retroactively watching Sixteen also gives a similar feeling though in that case the fix was clearly in as in Somi/Natty being automatically out due to age no matter what they did or Momo being put back in after getting eliminated).

You could say "so what?" how did that hurt anyone (which is one of the excuses the PDs made at trial) but when you take someone like Kaeun and basically toy with her career, give her hope, take it away and then LIE and say she never made the group and wasn't popular enough because she was too old or whatever, then they DID hurt her.And that was her last chance to have a big career (several members of Iz*One are going to be in demand for years at least) after Pledis destroyed most of her teen and early 20s by dungeoning her. No amount of financial recompense (which something tells me will NOT BE the exact amount a Iz*One member has earned - which is definitely hundreds of thousands of USD if not millions, earned over the contract although considering that would have been her slot, she would have earned that amount of money) can make her recover what she could have had.

The same with Lee Haein and Idol School. Sure, Fromis 9 may not be a top GG but they have the backing of CJ (a chaebol), and already a larger career and discography than some nugu groups that come and go. Haein went from a top 20 in P101, to IBI, to dropping out of a scheduled group that never happened (DayDay), to joining Idol School as the most famous trainee the show had and MAKING IT IN THE FINAL GROUP - only to be discarded because the PDs had already picked out the line-up and she wasn't it. They used her. Then CJ/Stone signs her to a contract promising explicitly to debut her (probably to silence her from speaking out as she eventually did) only to waste a year of her life and reneg on that promise. Basically destroying her idol dreams as well at this point given the age she's at now. And they got away with it. 

Yes, the P101 and Idol School shenanigans were caught and individual PDs went to jail (or was sentenced to it), but Mnet/CJ? Nah. Maybe just a fine, but nothing happen to their top management and I think we all KNOW they had to know what was going on (especially with the Iz*One and X1 rigging after the cash cow that was WannaOne). The fact that CJ is still trying to negotiate a return of Iz*One even though the entire public knows 2 members didn't actually make the group speaks volumes on how "serious" the company took the fixing scandal.  The Korean entertainment media could care less about going after CJ (which is a massive company) and asking the hard questions, and are only interested in scandals like at YG so despite Mnet saying they won't do any more P101 they will just repackage the concept in shows like Girls Planet 999 as if nothing happened.

The worst part? People will watch. Even I have a certain bile fascination in watching the show if only to see how they make Yujin (of CLC)  - who given that CLC is basically done and Cube don't care anymore, this may be her last best chance at success - the next Kauen and Lee Haein and use her for views, and then make her lose in the finale. Because based on Mnet's history I am sure that is what is planned.

TWICE's line distributions have not gotten any better.

 

Fair line distribution =/= equal

 

I see a lot of people saying their line distributions have gotten better and I understand the other girls have gotten their time to shine but then they forget their main vocalist barely gets 20 seconds in each song. (No hate to Nayeon I love her) They are called official positions for a reason.
