The Unpopular Opinions Thread (Read OP)

I wish for YG to stop being stingy when it comes to BLACKPINK's hair extensions because they have been looking like a damn mess since debut, it distracts me when I watch their performances.

Also if I were an Asian fan and I went to one of their concerts and got 4 songs less than western fans for the same money I would flip lmao, what a scam

If I don't chat everyday with a friend it doesn't mean I don't care about him/her. Everyone work or study everyday and we can't have all the time to chat but the important is the thought about each other and seeing once in a month at last.

Even writing 2 times in a month "how are you?" is enough to show that you care about someone even without writing everyday and while being busy with life

I feel like Blackpink shows the limitation of a 4members group in this day and age. Their concert sales will be better if they have more than 5 members. YG did a good job(minus the number of songs given to them) & the girls are charming but there is still a limit on the amount of hardcore fans one can attract with less members.

Smaller groups are better for smaller agencies and looking at Treasure 13, I wondered did YG regret not making Blackpink into a group with more members.

Fans who wish for their faves to surpass other group's records (whether it be through album sales, digitals, youtube views, etc) are likely to be toxic and cause fanwars.

Wise fans would rather have their faves break their own records and grow at their own pace.

Can't get into loving NCT 127 because of Johnny and the very obvious favoritism towards Taeyong. I love NCT Dream so much more but I like NCT 127's songs more. Another case of me liking the music but not the artist.

really unpopular opinion: i think meat mixed with textured vegetable protein tastes better than just straight meat

i know using TVP is what companies do when they're stingy with meat costs but I think it's got a nice texture lol

How do some armys take pride in the fact that other male kpop groups get mistaken for BTS in the USA? If they think a group with 10 members is BTS then not only can they not recognize the members of BTS, but they also don’t even know how many people are even in the group. It means neither the group they’re mistaking for BTS nor BTS are recognizable to them. How do people not get this? It’s a classical example of „all Asians look alike“, it is not a marker of BTS‘s popularity.

I'm tired of the dance style that's so popular nowadays. the spasmic movements make the dancers look like they are going through some kind of seizure or like they are zombies. more fluid movements and more slow songs where the dancing precision can be shown, is all I'm asking for

most people think Harry Styles went to Blackpink concert and followed Jennie because he is into her and she is his 'bias'

but i think they are going to have a collab together. his 2nd album will come out soon and he went to concert to meet her.

but we'll see.

It's insane and idiotic how int-fans especially Western fans expect idols to know every single social and cultural issue the other side of the globe has when idols are dressed a certain way or their actions could be seen as offensive. Stop trying put idols onto a pedestal who has unlimited knowledge about every single culture. They are just as human and unaware of social/cultural issues on the other side of the world as you are. Instead of pitchfork crowd about cAnCelinG them, why not EDUCATE them of WHY it's seen as offensive? It's not like the idols intentionally wanted to offend people or fans in the first place.

I love music but I don't like boring music. Popular music can be boring, experimental indie music can be boring.

Edit: classical however is not boring for me because there are dynamics inside and one single song can contain diverse emotions on something like changing seasons. Ballad too can be interesting when it displays the depth & intensity of emotions especially through the singers' vocals.

Regarding the 'debate' Sekiro started, about difficulty...I actually think, a majority of games, difficulty is pointless. I mean, games are created around normal difficulty, honestly, i'd say some are even around 'easy'. then theres some built around hard, like soulsbourne, &souls-like games.

and honestly..about the whole, journalist using mod to beat the game. and ive watched some videos of others using it. its just - i try, but it takes me a while to get a hang of souls-like games. but i'd never want to get mod to finish it. Like... i never rly used mod on games, I did once, on stardew valley. thsi mod could spawn you any item, change relationship with villagers, etc. and i spent almost 100 hours on my file before i downloaded this and it killed my motivation to play honestly. if a mod killed stardew valley for me, i definiteluy wouldnmt use one on sekiro hhhh

but honestly yeah I feel like scaling difficulty is pointless on prob 99%games. an example i can think of it works is diablo 3, I think theres 4 difficulties until it gets to torment, where theres 13 levels of (soon to be 16.) and you can see, theres is benefits to going to each one. there is even torment-exclusive stuff. tho its absurd amount of difficulties.. its integral to the endgame with rifts(greater rifts, leaderboard), and seasons. when i originally play through the campaign(on normal) when i got the game, i just put on gear i got as dropped, and i had killed boss like diablo, malthael, etc. in seconds.. the difficulties actually brings sumn to the game.  in most games...difficulty scaling is just.. making it so enemies are tankier & hits harder. where its just an unnecessary grind to fight each enemy. but souls-like game arent like that grind, theyre just difficult because of the mechanics thatyou justhave to get used to. idg what adding easy/normal to default 'hard' games would even do? they can give you more hp, but if you suck at the mechanic, you suck. thats it.

tbh i have not even played that much sekiro tho, but im also been playing nioh. I at least want to get in deep before rly starting sekiro. (nioh btw is another souls-like game, and ur character is a ninja. i recommend)

The fact that some Americans refer to every group of Asian boys as BTS is racist. The only reason some ARMY defend it and excuse it is bc it also shows how well known BTS is with the GP and that's more important to a lot of them. Imagine if they asked if every stout Asian man was Psy?

A member standing out in the group for obvious reason is not "overrated" this term is so over used. Hating on a member for standing out instead of your bias is not the solution, I think you could spend that time to hype your bias instead

Thought I'd be happy now that my girl and male cousins have finally realized that Kpop isn't really that cheap and gay after attending Coachella. But I'm getting too overwhelmed with their reactions and neverending questions. I wanted to go back to being a silent and closeted Kpop fan. Leave me alone and do your own research.

The Orville is one of the best shows on tv right now regardless of what those uppity critics are saying about it. It addresses issues that are relatable in a very humorous and mature which also doesn’t feel preachy and condescending at all. The only other show doing this right now is Brooklyn nine nine.
