vamprosie 713 Posted August 11, 2018 Share Posted August 11, 2018 i'm not sure if this is unpopular, but it's definitely not popular enough: cancel culture in kpop (and in general, but especially kpop bc many idols are still very ignorant) is honestly so annoying. it's not progressive at all. how are people supposed to learn when you don't even give them a chance? y'all always talk about how behind south korea is (which it is), but when there's actually a chance to educate someone on certain things, you just shut them down. most of you don't even care about the problematic things an idol did, y'all are just dragging them for the sake of dragging. you just wanna say that you stan the least problematic idols. y'all love to pick who to cancel and who not to. it doesn't work like that. either be consistent in your cancelling (lmao?) or don't do it at all. it's super annoying for people who actually are offended and hurt by a thing an idol did or said. no ones gonna take them seriously anymore bc fans are gonna see it as an attack on their idols and get super defensive, when it's actually important to talk about. and can y'all stop telling people how to feel? if someone says something is offensive to them and they feel hurt, then you have to accept it! if you're not part of the group that was offended, just shut up? this goes for both fans who want to cover it up and people who love to act woke when it comes to idols they dislike. most of our faves did or said ignorant things, but maybe instead of either ignoring/defending it (fans) or hating on them (fake wokes), y'all could actually try to educate them? you acknowledge what they did, call them out, try to educate them and maybe forgive them if you want to (you don't have to of course!! you are never obligated to forgive someone if you don't feel like you can!). people say ignorant shit and they learn from it. that's how life goes. i said ignorant stuff in the past and i educated myself and know better now. people grow from their mistakes. life isn't just black and white. also y'all love ignoring apologies lmao? if someone sincerely apologised you should move on. you don't have to forgive, but stop being so hung up on it. the only people who actually should be "cancelled forever" are people that committed serious crimes, people that clearly didn't learn from their past mistakes (meaning they aren't willing to learn) or are openly and obviously racist, homophobic, misogynistic etc. 23 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

vamprosie 713 Posted May 6, 2019 Share Posted May 6, 2019 not sure if this is an upopular opinion, but it's not popular enough, so here i go. hating sansa stark is not a personality trait. she's one of the few smart and rational characters left on the show and yet people still can't seem to move on from the naive, pubescent teenage girl she was in the first few episodes of the first season. she has grown immensely since then as a character and is one of the best strategists on the show, but y'all don't like her bc she doesn't trust dany, who literally wants to take away the independence of her and her people for no goddamn reason. make it make sense. sansa is not flawless, obviously, but some of you act like she's the devil when one of her biggest interest is literally the wellbeing of her family and the north. 23 6 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
