it's a pity CNS as they released it today didn't work out for Hope World. flow/lyrics belong on HW. but year later? it just feels old and like smth JH had already done. the original CNS had its charm but the song itself is whatever.

this 97 situation turned out to be interesting. no surprise from knetz, but from international side apparently the popular approach is to project both your own country's corona-status/implemented polices and personal conditions. SK had ~10 cases per day at the time(and almost there again after the outbreak) and you bet they were in masks and not keen to get in anyone's face. unnecessary and imprudent the whole outing was for sure, but some dramatics that went on in response.. well they kinda make me want to eye roll.

on second thought i am surprised by k-side. silly me, of course there gotta be a blue house petition.

and when your enemy is "fascist" or "racist" or "anti-feminist" or "homophobic" or "transphobic" or "TERFCISDIGAHSDGKTIS" that just certainly, without the shadow of the doubt means you are a force for good, for equality and for equity. except those who you slur at, "cancel" and bully are often none of those things and, what is more damaging, those people increasingly more often are also more rational, reasonable, nuanced and more grounded in a complex reality than those who oppose them.

the % of idols with very modest talents is really huge in kpop. that famous manufacturing aspect of kpop is what responsible for it. seems like a bad thing but few harp on about it. fewer should though. in most cases a group is better off with those idols than without. makes their collective appeal stronger. besides watching someone without a distinguishable talent(at least in their main field) grind their way up to success is appealing in and of itself.

kpop girl groups are more palatable to public than kpop boy groups. true for SK but even more so globally. honestly the fact that BTS just keeps having an edge over BP is kinda amazing.

tone matters. for all that it's not objective and there is no point in discussing it, having a recognizable and/or pleasant tone matters a great deal. you can do a lot in studio with that alone. for live performances getting down choreo is a job 50% done. kpop groups do not need proficient vocalists to raise it to a 100. evidently.

not to say that tone > technical abilities. and not like it's a zero sum game either. but yeah, tone matters, esp in kpop
