I find it really annoying when fans act as if every idol who "works hard" needs to be appreciated by everyone or that if you don't care for a member of a group then you're being hateful. I honestly don't care how talented someone is or how good looking they are or how hard working they are. If I don't personally find someone interesting then I couldn't care less about all their talents and accomplishments. The world is filled with talented and hard working people it's not that big of a deal if your fave happens to be one too.

I don't think winwin is vocally talented and he doesn't fit the type of dances nct does well. But he does have other useful assets that could be used that they're not using. However I doubt him not being talented in the those areas is the reason why they don't use him for it. Just look at yuta-he's actually a really good vocalist and dancer (he's also rapped before in both korean and japanese) but they don't make good use of him. You know it's ridiculous when taeyong and mark get more singing parts (while already rapping most of it) in a song than other members who can sing so much better. So I don't think "how well you can do something" is really what matters with them.

It's really annoying when int-netizens generalize korean fans with lots of stuff but here's one example. Everytime I see a group debuting a few japanese members, everyone goes "oh they must be serious on targeting the japanese market, they want more japanese fans...yada yada yada."

Yes that's most likely true but beside the point. A lot of people act like all/most koreans are xenophobic and can't like japanese idols or appreciate them as people simply because they enjoy what they do or how they look. That is true for many, but there are tons of really chill korean fans that don't really care too much about where the person is from as long as they find them enjoyable, but lots of people seem to forget that. I don't think adding japanese members is simply "for the japanese market." A lot of groups do fine without it.

Even though I starting watching k-dramas before j-dramas, I enjoy J-dramas way more. A lot of k-dramas have really good production quality and supposedly have exciting and thrilling storylines. However their actors are supposed to be "good looking" but the extreme amount of plastic surgery really throws me off. Most of them have stiff faces and are quite expressionless (not all the time tho) which is something I really don't like. Also their strive for perfection is unrealistic and not entertaining imo, and their acting is nothing special, and there are a ton of other reasons I have. I used to think j-dramas were lame because I didn't know much about them but when I starting searching I found a wide variety of fun genres. I find the way their actors are not perfect looking and much more expressive while acting more entertaining, among other reasons.

All those people that call certain idols "LGBT icons!" or "Gay king/queen!" Can you just stop. If they are gay they never admitted it and they do nothing for the LGBT community in their own country.

Those titles belong to people who actually are honest and contribute

Taeil would have been better off as a solo vocalist. He is one of the best K-pop vocalists I've heard and his skill is being wasted in the mess that is nct system. Hope he leaves and becomes a solo singer (not a part of idol-pop)

I posted this in another thread but idk if this is a popular or unpopular opinion:

Why sm did they even bother adding a japanese member(Yuta) in the group (nct)? He feels useless (not saying this because of skill, it's because they don't give him a role of any sort). Like, he adds nothing to the group, if he was removed nothing would change at all. They don't seem to need him for anything, the others members do fine in Japan without him. Lol, the only useful thing he does is correct the other member's japanese on stage, how sad

Smrookies was the best time for nct. They were all so happy and ambitious, their skills were so great, everyone had a chance to exhibit something. Imo Taeyong was best at dancing during smrookies, I always feel like his skills have never been the same since. Yuta actually sung along with the other vocalists, and rapped with the other rappers too sometimes, (and there are so many other reasons but I can't list them all here). They were all together and it felt like they were working toward something, but then all got separated into different units and it feels like a mess, and they seem a bit tired now. Why did sm have to mess up such a good thing? Smrookies was truly their prime

Mackenyu seems like a nice guy and he is definitely very handsome, but I find Suda Masaki much more attractive and interesting. Like I've never watched anything with Mackenyu in it (no shade to Mack) but I watch some stuff just because Suda is in it.

I don't believe in things like a single "race". That stuff is nonsense, and the idea of race is actually a European idea, and is fairly near. When Europeans starting colonizing other countries they grouped people of a country under race, but before that most people were classified under tribes based on their ancestry and lineage, not a single "race". People are much more diverse and intertwined than to put them under such a label, and race really doesn't exist

I said it before and I'll say it again: Taeil needs solo work. I want to hear more of his amazing voice outside of just a few parts in nct songs. His talent deserves better imo

Edit: actually this is probably not that unpopular but whatevs

There are many toilet scenes in mvs especially in sexy  or "edgy" concepts

What's sexy about toilets? :donthinkso: .

Maybe because it's a place where it's mandatory to take off your clothes and they know that....anyway yuck

Not a big fan of wakey wakey, but Yuta's little singing part sounded like an actual jpop song, and I found that interesting. Such a shame he wasn't given more lines

There is nothing unique about Taeyong's rapping. He sounds like dozens of other idol rappers I've heard (including cpop and jpop). That doesn't have to be seen a bad thing though, I don't know why fans have to insist it's the one of the greatest and most interesting rapping they've heard just to enjoy it. It's alright and that's totally fine

Some of the nct 127 members have a really good natural vibe/attitude (like Johnny and Yuta), but most of them don't and that ruins their videos and interviews
