I feel like big groups only work out if every member looks somewhat unique and at least adds something that each other member doesn't already add. To me that's why groups like SJ, SNSD, Seventeen, Twice work out. Like I get that people don't want to lose any talented members but I feel that making the group more condensed can make a more solid group. Kpop now is visual-centric to it's max. Idols are becoming more like charming lip-syncing dancers rather than artists/singers. Today she managed to sing live throughout the whole song and it was not main vocal level at all. People don't listen carefully to see whether it's a badly made MR removed or whether it is pre-recorded or not. MR removed may not be the best judge of vocal skill but it definitely shows you their live singing skill. Those with better breath control and technique are more likely to be more stable while singing and dancing. In addition, live singing skill plays in to the performance aspect. A large part of Kpop is about performance. So I don't see why people are acting like it isn't. So why do people think it's not cringy when they do it to idols too. They are real people too! Also, people think that idols don't see the weird creepy shippings or fanfics but I'm sure some of them do. It makes them uncomfortable. I remember reading that the really popular Seventeen ship of Wonwoo and Mingyu made it really awkward between the two and Wonwoo was trying to avoid getting close to Mingyu. Stop it. The energy and charisma are exploding on the MIC drop stage where the BWL stage kind of falls flat on their usual energy. Yes, BWL is the song that is garnering the most attention in the west but it's not song that capitalizes on their strengths which is their hip hop vibe and strong dancing. I do think it's okay for BTS to explore but they shouldn't sacrifice what makes them fundamentally special and unique in the first place. Also people need to stop shitting on Jin and Jisoo for being the "weakest" singers. The American stages have proven that they are the most stable out of all of them. SM keeps giving most of their senior artists, except for the ones they care about ( Taeyeon and Taemin ), the bottom of the barrel leftover songs and kind of lackluster promotions. I kind of get the feeling like they just keep handing out these solos to keep those idols satisfied so they don't leave their respective groups and so that SM can continue making money off of them. This is just sad because going solo should be a MAJOR thing. DolphinGremlin 938 Posted May 15, 2019 Share Posted May 15, 2019 (edited) I really think that GOT could benefit on going the Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood route and making an alternate branch off from before the show started diverging from the books and finishing with canon material. There's enough interest in the show for people to watch it. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to know that the seasons started getting quite funky at season 7. Dany's full blown turn to evil tyrant just seems so out of character given that she saved the lives of countless innocents and freed slaves before. Plus Tyrion and Varys, the smartest characters in the show, were reduced to idiots. Just ughhhhhhh.
