How to improve my writing skills?

I don't know if you are already doing this, but you should write a "blue print" for everyone of your characters. Every character should have a name, an age, a birth date, you should write down who his/her family is, what he/she loves to eat, wear, listen to etc... Don't forget their attitude and way of reacting to things.

Of course, you don't need to include all of that in your stories, but need to know everything about your characters to write about them.

Read more, broaden your horizons and all that.

I also like to jot down random notes, occurrences, character sketches and small plot points of interest in a small notebook that I carry around. Looking back through it I can see how my mood has changed over the last few weeks and am able to kind of get back there?

I'm also going to start writing a journal instead of writing on the computer. Idk, I find it forces me to really come to terms with what I've written or planned out in a story. I'll see how this works out though.

I started with writing really short stories. If you can write a lot of one-shots, you'll naturally develop to the point where you can write an ongoing story or novel. You don't have to go reading other people's material. I don't think that helps (or at least it doesn't help me any). You just need to write more. Your creative mind is a muscle and you need to develop it.

I sometimes forgot that it, tbh. I need to stop thinking what would I do and focus on them. Thanks for tips  :)

I think I will make something like that in my notebook. Thank you for tips  :)

Don't stop reading. The more you read, the more your vocabulary naturally expands. Also, just write as much as you can. You'll never be happy with what you write when you first start off, but eventually your written communication will improve with time and you will just naturally get better at it.

You can read and practice on character development. Think more, think deeper into the character's personality and background.

As for worlds you can always get inspiration from art pieces or simply spend time thinking and being creative. Let your imagination flow. How is the atmosphere there? How is the people? The lifestyle? The society?

Writing is all about word fluidity and creativity.

Hope I helped!

Normally what I do for character building is take a character, and if they're based on a real person give them traits based off of the real person. For example, Queen Elizabeth II is a feminist badass because this and this and this (Last paragraph). I'll also occasionally give them some unrelated traits if I think it has a good comedic purpose or a good message, like Prince Harry being into all things kawaii and the Spencer family loves acting like a bunch of cowboys (Think, they twerk to this at their father's bar:

and
)

Some characters might have an obvious basis. I think my Harry's a lot like Honey Senpai:

And have something that everyone can get dragged for, aka a flaw. I tend to drag Harry oppar for his smoking habits and I drag Charles for cheating on Diana. Of course, don't drag too much or else it just seems like a bash.

If they're not based off of a character/real person, I normally give my characters specific personalities (Melissa is a maid who hates her job, Diana's personal assistant Nana just doesn't understand Diana's questionable motives, etc.) and they normally end up clashing with the other characters for the sake of good opportunities for a nice plot and for comedy reasons.
