We’re always afraid of till when we’re able to stand on a huge stage and fill up the seats, but the fans always erase that fear. Honestly, you’re able to see a person’s sincerity from his/her eyes. In those (fans’) eyes, we’re always gaining strength. CECI How have you been? In preparing for the interview, (we) searched you up but everything was about soccer. I’ve always liked using my body so I diligently play soccer, table tennis, bowling or exercises of that kind. Of course, I write songs and go to lessons. I’m the type of personality that think there’s no time to waste and I should always be doing something. CECI It feels like there will always be people/friends around people who like to exercise. Being in a celebrity soccer team, I got to know a lot of sunbaes and hoobaes. JYJ Junsu hyung, 2PM Junho, actor Wan-i hyung, Hyunwoo, Gunhyungie hyung, there’s a lot. When we gather, through Star Craft or Winning, we will bet dinner or drinks and play like that. We release our stress like that. CECI For people who write songs, it’s certain the songs are made according to the person’s taste. What is Lee Kikwang’s song color? There’s been about three songs that has been released, I think that sexy songs that are ‘sticky’ and have a groovy feel matches well with me. Songs that can be danced too are also good; I also think in BEAST albums we are able to release songs with various genres so the album should be more plentiful. CECI In any case, member Yong Junhyung would have helped a lot right? That’s right. Junhyungie will tell me with certainty which parts (of the song) contributes and which doesn’t. Which parts are nothing much, and if there are certain parts that would sound better if I worked on it – he will tell me those without filtering. CECI Recently, you participated in China’s on-going audition program, ‘Super Idol’. For Lee Kikwang who has debuted as an idol for 7 years, what do you think is the condition in being a super idol? Perseverance and character. Every job is like that but being an idol is not like what is seen on TV – it’s not always enjoyable, happy, without any difficulties. It would be good to recognize that before even starting. Debuting is not the end of it, it’s the start. CECI Last year you hosted ‘Style Log’. There are times when I would pretend I don’t care but would take care of her silently, there would also be times when I take care of her openly. I’m not good at talking in circles. My personality is very manly. CECI Are you a romantic guy too? When I was in middle school, there was this girl I really liked. I remember waiting in front of her house with something I cooked as she returned home from the academy. CECI Oh, the trend these days are men who can cook. I remember cooking things like kimchi fried rice but it’s not like I’m a great cook. Things like ramen, grilled spam, fried egg, kimchi fried rice, things like that – I’ll look up the recipes on the internet and follow it like that so it’ll come out delicious. CECI Even that is dependent on a person (laughs). Now, the members are living separately. What are the good points about living separately? I could have time completely for my own but to be honest, there’s no fun in that. When men live together, we squabble, we chat, we play games, there aren’t times when you feel bored. CECI When you live together and get into disagreements, how do you let go/release it?We almost don’t fight at all. Our characters match each other so well that even if we do end up fighting, we’ll talk about it straight away and settle it. It’s hard to have a personality where you keep grudges (within the team). Don’t lie, don’t keep it buried in your heart, always talk it out. That’s how you’ll end up with barely any fights. CECI You’ve been together for 7 years, what left the strongest impression during those times?Rather than what left an impression, we’re still going on. We’re always thinking about BEAST’s future. How we could be even better. CECI Are there efforts the members put in in order to be together for a long time?Since we live separately, we’re always communicating with one another. We have a lot of personal schedules and because there’s six of us, it’s not easy for us to gather. So in our group chat, we joke around, we send and receive funny pictures so time flies. CECI When do you want to see the members the most?When we have our own schedules, we use the waiting room on our own right? In the past, the waiting room would always be jostling, the sound of laughter never stops but when you’re alone, it’s lonely. CECI You’re always thankful to the fans who don’t allow you to feel lonely right?(We’re) idols who have debuted for a while but we’re still receiving letters, we’re still receiving love and no matter where we go, there are fans who support us so we are honestly sincerely thankful. We’re not such how much of this (thankful) heart reaches out (to the fans) but the six of us think the same way, we’re working hard to express this thankful heart even more. At fan meetings or concerts, we joke around, we talk with one another and looking at that, it’s not a relationship of an artist-fan but a close dongseng (younger sister/brother) or noona (older sister). CECI You’re also actively communication with fans on Twitter right?Yes. But I’m really bad at taking selcas (laughs) CECI Majority of selcas come out good but when taken by others, it comes out bad right?Ah, really. I really don’t know how to take selcas. I want to (let the fans) know what I’m up to recently so occasionally I will upload them. CECI But you’re good looking (laughs) That’s why at first (we) thought you’re a type that would be difficult to approach.Once you get to know me, you’ll realize there are times when I’m like a kid and I’m easy to get along with. I’m not the type to push away when someone reaches out to me first. CECI You don’t push someone who comes and you don’t grab on to someone who leavesNope. If I really like the person, I’ll hold on to him/her even when he/she leaves. I’m a man who is always hungry for love (laughs). CECI In the 20s, a majority of the time is being loved. Are you satisfied with your 20s?There’s no huge accidents, there’s nothing bad that happened, living a life where I’m able to enjoyably sing and dance with like-minded friends whenever, just based on this alone isn’t it a good life? (laughs) Doing something I like, I get to earn money and also be recognized for it. To be honest, there are a lot of people who still don’t know what they would like to do at my age, aren’t there? CECI Do you not regret anything?Even if there is something that I regret, I forget it quickly. If I keep it buried, I would continually be down/depressed. The way to get up is to think of good things and have good thoughts. CECI Where do you think the current BEAST is standing at?Wherever that is, we could climb even further. At present, there are no members that are satisfied so BEAST will be able to do better. CECI Speaking of that, when will the group album be released?Sometime in summer.
