downvotes, negs, whatever you want to call the action of disliking a post. 

 

 

I used to frequent a lot of forums before i found this site that only had a "like post" feature and no downvote feature, so it was really new to me when this site became my main. I always feel like i'm more conscious about what I say sometimes because people misinterpret sarcasm so easily. I don't really care about reputation or anything, it's just a bit disheartening when you do see you're rep drop by 10 when you don't remember saying anything controversial.

 

The two main things that boil my blood about it, though, are

 

1. people downvoting someone for having a different opinion even though they weren't necessarily rude about it.

 

2. people downvoting when they disagree with something but not discussing, or continuing the convo. Just negging and running. 

 

idk, i just feel like some good discussions are lost because instead of actually voicing you're opinion to the person you disagree with, you can just negg them and be on your merry way.

 

but, then again, i guess thats a pro for some people.

I think the only way to solve this is show who negged or upvoted you. Other sites do it so i don't why onehallyu babies the users

 

this so much. Imo it's the best compromise.

 

But honestly... at the same time... i'm laughing just thinking about the amount of effort and time people will put in to making new accounts, hiding under proxy/vpn... logging out of main account... logging into fake account...just to downvote someone...

You know it would happen.

It's really annoying.

 

Like I've said before, there's also a sort of hive-mind mentality where a user might not necessarily disagree with your post, but they'll still neg the post anyway because it already has quite a few dislikes.

I think it'll make things worse. First off, because of the example you used.

 

Seondly, because people would be calling each other out and fighting all the time. Also trying to get revenge.

 

Although I would like to know who upvotes me. That way I could give a shout out.

Allkpop does tell you who rates your comments but that doesn't always work out the way you think it would because they don't get into specifics. They don't tell you who gave you an upvote and who gave you a downvote.

 

Let's say for instance you have 10 negs but 11 people rated your post. That means that one of those commenters left you an upvote.  So who was it? You don't want to guess the wrong person because then you're upset with them, only to find out they were the one that left you that upvote.

 

There's been times where I upvoted a comment that was so heavily negged, my upvote barely made a dent in the amount of negs. 

 

Let's say someone has 12 negs. Then I upvote that comment but all that does is bring it down to 11 negs.

yeeeeees, I would love to see how many negs I got if people new their usernames would be shown and stuff. Though we would probably have a lot of people neg stalking each other which could be annoying

but upvoting is totally okay coz it boosts your ego etc..

I'm not, literally said I do not care about the reputation or anything. It just slightly dampens my mood on this site sometimes. This site is one of my main sources of entertainment at the end of the day, because I love discussion, but sometimes its just a little off putting when you get negs for virtually no reason. 

 

and up voting  doesn't boost my ego, man. i'd rather get no up or downvotes at all and have a good convo than anything else

Even if I would like to see who upvote me, this function would be the worse. It will be immediately I neg u coz u negged me thing. 

 

There would be war and no end complains and hate. 

 

 

It can be that the most hide behind proxis, and/or even more pm their friends that they should come neg one user. It would be high mess. 

 

 

But I would like when there wouldn't be the neg function.
