Californians, do you support this?

It would be perfect for someone like me who hopes to move up north soon. So as far as it benefiting me, i'm in favor of it.

I also think it could attract more tourism if they brought closer to Los Angeles.

Elon Musk unveiled his plans for the Hyperloop, a high-speed transportation system that could deliver passengers to their destination at speeds up to 800 miles per hour. Musk's estimates the project will cost around $6 billion for a people-only version, and around $10 billion for a version where people could bring along their cars.

Highlights:

  • Travel 800 miles per hour; 30-35 minutes from L.A. to SF.
  • Safer than trains and airplanes; difficult to crash.
  • Will be able to mount tuned mass dampers in the Hyperloop to make it more earthquake resistant.
  • Unaffected by extreme weather conditions.
  • $6 billion dollars to build; proposed high-speed rail system for California will cost roughly $70 billion dollars.
  • "Musk will invest his own money into this project."

So, what do 'Californians' think about his plans for the Hyperloop?  Would you support it?  I would.

Nope I don't support it at all..I mean we are going to be wasting billions to build it... and by the time they finish the train it will be way over the budget and way over the estimated time to build the train..we could be using that money for education or other things that are needed...I really don't see how they are going to Ok this when California is already in huge debt....

I made a thread about this already.

Sorry, I thought the image you posted was about the old high-speed rail system people have been talking about since forever.  It was only until I read your comment and looked at the direct link and title of the image that I realized it was actually the 'suggested route' of the Hyperloop project.  This was actually meant to be a response to your topic.  Hence the comment I made in the spoiler tag lol.  I'm currently trying to merge our threads together.  Hope that is 'ok' with you.  Still waiting for the mods to respond.

Ohh, that would be good.
