Actor Song Joong Ki is receiving much attention from the media following his discharge from the military today, May 26.


 


During his appearance before reporters and fans at his discharge ceremony, the actor was asked which girl group gave him the most strength while in the army.


 


Song Joong Ki responded, “My seniors told me that this question would be asked no matter what. I thought about it a lot and I don’t know girl groups very well. For me, Lee Kwang Soo was the biggest strength,†expressing his close friendship with the actor.


 


He jokingly explained, “I saw him so much on ‘Running Man’ that he gave me the most strength,†before adding on, “Lee Kwang Soo came to visit me once. He came despite having a busy schedule.â€


 


Song Joong Ki also revealed what else provided him with strength while serving: “I like baseball, so I watched [baseball games] regularly. Hanhwa, the team I support, had good results, so that also gave me strength too.â€


 


Meanwhile, the actor has returned to civilian life after enlisting in August of 2013. He is preparing to return to the small screen with the KBS drama “The Descendant of the Sun.â€

Q: Are there any specific actor/ actress that you would like to work with in the future?

IS: Song Joong Ki. I would like to work with him as brothers. And I would like to work with Choi Min Sik as well.

 

Q: We know that Kwang Soo and Song Joong Ki both visited you on set when you were filming this drama. So do you have any other celebrity friends that you have a close relationship with?

IS: Other than Joong Ki and Kwang Soo I don’t think I have much close friends. Having those two are enough.
