Phoenix and R.Kelly to release "Trying To Be Cool" Remix

In an interview earlier this month, Phoenix guitarist Christian Mazzalai suggested that a collaborative recording with R. Kelly was likely in the works. Now, Phoenix have posted an image on their Instagram (above) confirming it's official. A remix of Phoenix's Bankrupt! track "Trying to Be Cool" featuring Kells is on the way.

 

This follows Phoenix's on-stage collaboration with R. Kelly at this year's Coachella. Speaking about the initial Coachella collab with Radio.com, guitarist Laurent Brancowitz said, "We are big fans and we asked him in a very simple way and explained what we had in mind and he just said yes." Apparently, Phoenix always listen to R. Kelly before going on stage. "We love his art," Mazzalai said.
