Article: Kwanghee -> Dongjun -> Siwan -> Hyungshik... ZE:A are roly polies

Source: Star News via Naver

1. [+793, -11] I don't think Park Hyungshik expected himself to become so big through a variety show either

2. [+677, -9] What if the group only succeeds after all nine members have their turn getting popular

3. [+646, -31] This group is so weird in that they're individually popular but the team is barely scraping by

4. [+508, -10] They really need to get the ball rolling... I always feel like they have something big ready but they're always in uncertain grounds.. ㅜ Get popular!

5. [+485, -33] I like that compared to other idols, their members aren't the thin, short, high school teen looking types. I think anyone in their mid to late 20s will know what I'm talking about. Their problem is that their songs are bad and their dances don't stand out. Siwan and Hyungshik are probably the two tops when it comes to handsomeness among male idols alone.

6. [+304, -10] It really is weird how they all took turns getting popular but the group is still in the same place ã…‹ã…‹ Maybe it'll get better

7. [+292, -4] Just choose the right song

8. [+290, -25] An odd group that does better separately than together

Perfect example of a group that individual popularity doesn't help the group at all

It's not like all of them are individually popular. Only like 3(?)/9 are. Without any hit songs, of course they are flopping

Poor excuse

Not all Apink member are popular too,but people still are interested in their comeback songs because of Eunji and Naeun
That is 1/3. It is arguably that Siwan and Hyungshik might be even more popular individually than Eunji because of their hit dramas on national channels

All ZEA need is a good song, but their individual popularity doesn't get people to listen their songs, then it might be the problem of the group itself

Not only ZEA,a lot of other groups have similar situation

I will be very honest here, I only know like 5 members well from ZE:A. Those being Siwan, Dongjun, Hyungsik, Kevin and Kwanghee. I know their leader is Junyoung but I don't really follow his activities because he was injured last year and is not as popular. I like some of their music like 'Phoenix' and ZE:A FIVE's 'The Day We Broke Up', but I haven't really gotten into their other songs. I think in the K-pop scene, musically they are not as popular, but individually some members are quite well known. I hope they get more exposure and recognition in the future because for a group that debuted in 2010, they haven't reached big heights yet, unlike Infinite. ZE:A fighting  :) !

The problem with them is that they vanish after a comeback. They're not popular yet, so they could have 2 to 3 comebacks per year. Top idol groups release a song per year and ZE:A is not there yet, but promoting as if they were. Star Empire could very much make it happen like they did with Nine Muses. Their newer song was a step in the right direction, but still not public-friendly enough. They had quite a hype when they debuted (because of their size and because of Mazeltov) but then Star Empire made several mistakes starting from their Level Up MV, which was never released, and then started making low budget MVs/promos and cute concepts for every comeback.

Nine Muses changed their image without a relevant member, I think it's not impossible for ZE:A, they just need to come back more often even if it is for a try out to know which style public prefers best.

I like this though:

THIS

i think it's a mismanagement by SE itself. SE might thought the individual popularity that kwanghee, siwan, hyungshik and dongjun got will affect their popularity as a group. But it's proved wrong. The huge popularity of their individual members doesn't make them a top group yet, that might be what SE thought they were

they just need that hit song to get them that push they needed, and also give other members a chance at variety shows/dramas/cfs beside the usual 4. make more comebacks as well

it'll take awhile for all nine of them to get very relevant though

you dont really need a group of all members to get relevant for the group to become popular

if everyone is popular like Hyungshik or Kwanghee, then they would be the no.1 boy group
