Hahaha true that I actually started noticing her cos of The Boys MV! She really stood out  

 

I know a lot of people felt the same way. Her luscious golden locks and rap parts were the highlight of that era for me.

She got so much screentime during live performances of The Boys it was insane.

We will have to keep hoping. I was honestly shocked and disappointed she wasn't in the center for any part of IGAB (iirc) even though it's their most intense dance routine since Into The New World.

And here I thought my 25 notifications were from actual updates... Still worth it, especially the chocolate bar pics :3 SM redeemed themselves from years of styling abuse towards Hyo with the IGAB photoshoot. I think they gave her better pics/styling as a way to encourage people to buy it. Knowing Korea I doubt that sales strategy worked.

 

Speaking of styling... I don't like the black stuff they put around Hyoyeon's eyes in the TopShop pics. It contrasts badly with her albino skin and peroxide hair. But as the saying goes, beggars can't be choosers.

 

I'm proud of Fei for winning DWTS because she's also like Hyo since they're both underexposed and underpromoted and deserve more attention/recognition. I guess the miss A fandom (despite being much smaller than the scone one) cares more about all its members. If international fans were allowed to vote, Hyo would be cruising around Seoul rn in that new convertible instead of her other luxury sportscars. I just wanted Hyo to win as a validation for all her hard work - not just sleepless nights training for the show, but all the effort she's put as a group member only to be paid dust. Still grateful a show like DWTS exists where Hyo can show off her skills at something she excels at.

Honestly, in the idol world one can be a successful 'singer' without being a strong singer with a full range, what one needs is charisma, presence, and passion, and Hyogoddess as all three! Her voice isn't terrible either. When she's in a comfortable range, she sounds beautiful and her pitch is impeccable. Sometimes I don't see why SM doesn't capitalize on the girls' different vocal registers, there are nine of them and they could harmonize like no one's business if directed properly.

 

The dance line rarely gets a chance to do harmonies in their albums but Hyoyeon and Jessica shared a brief one in the first album

I spent so long trying to find this thread, I almost cried. IMO it wouldn't be such a bad idea if the dance line had a sub unit. There are songs that are less vocally challenging/straining and fit their voices well as you guys said.
