Why do most i-fans of K-pop dislike ballads?

Like whenever a ballad's released people always complain and call it boring. Ballad songs in albums are always ignored, everyone wants "trashy bops" or something. Why is that?

I actually like ballads the most, dance songs rarely ever do it for me. For example, I think this song is the best one from SHINee's new album

depend on the ballad, but most of them are boring

listening to ballad is good when you can understand the lyric and it's meaning which is not applicable for kpop

BC their oppas can't sing. And dancing in ballads is just hideous and disgusting

Why would anyone dance in ballads? lol

SNSD's ballad are all, well almost all, really really good. SNSD rarely every disappoints with their ballads.

Idk, but I don't not like only korean ballads, my tempo musical prefferences are the same with everything. I like upbeat songs or unique/interesting sounding slower songs, of which I have found korean ones too. And the occasional ballad.

I think it's a musical prefference, aren't upbeat songs more widely liked? The explanations for that are scientific and the last time I checked no one knew for sure, but there are some articles online if you are interested.

Because, to be perfectly honest, if I wanted to listen to a ballad, I need it to be from a power singer. Also, because not everyone in a kpop group is main vocal-worthy, there's always a random member that just kinda stands there with little or no lines. Most ballads are really just light, airy slow songs. That's boring. If you're belting and giving me Mariah/Whitney/Boyz II Men feels, then yes, I'll listen to it and probably spazz. But how many idols really do that? Very, very few.
