Kangnam honestly relays his envy towards CNBLUE

 

 

Kangnam couldn't hide his disappointment on the September 18 installment of MBC's 'I Live Alone.'

 

Kangnam was only able to sleep two hours before he had to go up on stage.  In the car with his manager, he immediately looked up the ranking for his newly released song, "Chocolate."  However, he saw that it had no ranking, so he got upset and started to complain.

 

Afterwards, he stated, "As soon as [CNBLUE's song] came out, it got first place.  I'm so jealous I could die."

Jungle Entertainment Denies Rumors of M.I.B’s Disbandment

 

Hip-hop group M.I.B is not going to disappear anytime soon despite rumors claiming otherwise, their agency Jungle Entertainment confirms.

Earlier today, a media outlet reported that M.I.B is drifting toward disbandment. According to the report, the members have slowly grown apart while focusing on their individual activities, suggesting that the group has unofficially split up.

 

As a response to these claims, Jungle Entertainment stated to Sports Donga, “As we have never mentioned anything about disbandment, we are confused to see reports like this. They are not disbanding. They have nothing against promoting as a group.â€

“Kangnam just released his solo album, and the other members of M.I.B are currently working hard on their own projects. There are other activities as well. There’s been no talk about disbandment â€” they are simply not promoting together,†the agency explained, and finally said, â€œThey will soon return as M.I.B.â€

Kangnam to make drama debut through 'Only You'!

 

 

Kangnam is going to be showing off his acting chops in new TV Chosun drama special, 'Only You'!  It's going to have sixteen episodes and will mark his official debut into the acting scene.

 

He will be playing member Tae Hyun of 5-member idol group, Pentagon, in the drama. The drama has a somewhat typical storyline with a top star who does not believe in love, a woman who's been betrayed in love, a man who dreams of becoming a star, and more for a sweet and refreshing human love story.

 

Kangnam's Tae Hyun has a showy fashionista image with a chic and cold-city-boy charm. He is in charge of the group's visual.  He is the rival of Hong Suk, played by U-KISS's Kevin.  U-KISS's Eli had also been confirmed for a role in Pentagon.

 

Kangnam said, "I feel a great burden and am nervous because this is my first time appearing in a drama since debut, but this is a chance for me to show as much as I want the dance and music that I personally like, different from the image I show on variety shows, through this drama, so I am also very excited.  I will put in my all in order to not disappoint the people watching the drama."

 

The drama will air sometime in December.

Kangnam makes his mother cry with a special gift for her birthday

 

 

Kangnam had a big present prepared for the favorite woman in his life: his mom! On the December 11 installment of 'I Live Alone,' Kangnam withdrew the money he had saved up from all of his activities on TV and from his music, to gift his mother with the cash for her birthday. 
 

Before inviting her out to a restaurant to treat her to a nice meal, Kangnam suited up to make himself presentable for this special day. At the dinner table, Kangnam serenaded his mom with a birthday song and handed her the bundle of hard-earned money--a total of 7.06 million KRW (~$6,000 USD) that he had diligently saved up. 

Kangnam's mother, touched by her son's thoughtfulness, was unable to choke back her emotions. She said, "The childish troublemaker has grown up so much already," smiling proudly through her tears.

Kangnam is asked whether he ever dated a girl group member

 

 

Kangnam was asked a question that got everyone's ears perked up on the December 17 installment of SBS's '100 Year Guest Dear.'  On this day, they gathered to play a game of truth using a truth detector.

 

When Kangnam placed his hand atop it, Sung Dae Hyun asked him, "Have you ever dated a girl group member?" and he replied that he hadn't.  However, the lie detecting machine alerted everybody that this was a falsehood!  Afterwards, Kangnam looked taken aback and flustered, making everyone laugh.

 

Sung Dae Hyun asked, "You really dated someone!" but Kangnam insisted he didn't to the end.

Kangnam is stylish and confident for 'International bnt'

 

 

Kangnam was flaunting his effortless style for a pictorial with 'International bnt,' garbed in cool bomber jackets, pea coats, and blazers.

 

In the interview following the photo shoot, Kangnam relayed how he feels now that he has left 'I Live Alone' for good. He said, "I've made so many good memories that I didn't want to leave. I still remain close with the other members of 'I Live Alone.' I still go to dinners with them though I left the program."

Why did Kangnam think Cheetah liked him?

 

 

Kangnam and Cheetah appeared on JTBC's 'Finding Sugar Man' on February 16, where they unanimously revealed that they lived right next to each other and found out not too long ago.

 

They said, "We found out we lived right next to each other.  We found out not too long ago. We found out while we were practicing for 'Sugar Man.'"

 

Kangnam hilariously continued, "We practiced, then said, 'See you tomorrow,' but she came to the same house as me, so I thought, 'Oh, she must like me a bit.'"  Cheetah interjected here with, "I wish I would stop getting mixed in with him."

 

When asked what she thought of Kangnam as a man, she simply said, "He's just an oppa."

M.I.B's Kangnam to prove himself as a singer on 'Immortal Song 2'

 

 

M.I.B's Kangnam, who has been a regular on various variety programs for his wit and humor, will be proving himself as a singer with his first appearance on KBS2's 'Immortal Song 2'. 

 

The singer is reported to attend the recording of 'Immortal Song 2's 'Composer Ha Kwang Hoon special' on March 12. A representative of the show stated, "Kangnam will be making his first appearance on 'Immortal Song 2'. We're looking forward to a new side of him as a soloist, not part of a group." 

 

This upcoming episode will also feature Park Sang Min, Hong Ji Min, Jung Dong Ha, Lim Jeong Hee, Lazy Bon, and B1A4's Sandeul. It will air April 2.

'God's Voice,' one of the special pilot programs that aired during the Lunar New Year holiday, did so well that it has been picked up for regularly scheduled broadcasts by SBS!

 

An SBS rep said on March 16, "'God's Voice' will begin its first filming on March 17. Sunny, Youngji, Kangnam, Kim Jimin, Hong Suk Chun, Muzie, and April's Jinsol were confirmed for the judging panel." 

 

'God's Voice' gives the average joe a chance to challenge professional singers with their 'god-like vocals.' 

 

Sunny reportedly told SBS, "I had so much fun watching 'God's Voice' during the Lunar New Year holiday. I'm looking forward to recording for the show with a producer who is like family to me." 

 

'God's Voice' is set to air its first episode on March 30 at 11:30 p.m. (KST) so tune in!

M.I.B's Kangnam goes back to his roots on 'Immortal Song'

 

 

M.I.B's Kangnam went back to his roots on the April 2 installment of 'Immortal Song'.

 

For the special featuring songs by composer Ha Kwang Hoon, Kangnam covered Byun Jin Sub's "Becoming Alone" as the fourth performer up. He expressed, "My mom is a fan of 'Immortal Song' and watches often. This song is my mom's favorite. I've heard it since I was younger, so I chose it. If I fail, it's my mom's fault."

Kangnam added, "Kangnam is a singer. I'll work hard to show you a good side of myself." When he went on stage, he was obviously nervous, but once the song started, Kangnam impressed everyone with his steady vocals.

It was B1A4's Sandeul & Lazy Bone (Highlight for Spoiler) who took the final win.

I read that Zick Jasper also auditioned not just Sims. If they both passed I think it would be good for the show to eventually have the two battle each other. I know they have had friends do that but I don't think I've seen two people from the same group or crew go against each other (then again I only watch SMTM seasons 3 and 4 and some parts of season 1 so maybe that has happened).

 

Not sure if they passed though. Its awfully quiet

 

It would make sense that they didn't want to have a MIB comeback because of Kangnam's popularity but Kangnam still managed to juggle his variety schedules with his solo debut promotions. That's why it doesn't make sense to me. Plus other popular idols still promote in their groups like Exid's Hani does so that can't be the reason.

M.I.B's Kangnam is set to make his official solo debut in Japan!

Kangnam will be debuting with his single album 'Ready to Fly', which is slated for a May 25th release. The title song of the same name is a positive track meant to give people having a rough or sad time in life some energy. 

The M.I.B member commented, "It's a song that makes everyone including myself feel better."
