M.I.B's Kangnam puts his all into 'Apartment' on 'Immortal Song'

 

 

M.I.B's Kangnam put his all into his performance on the April 30 installment of 'Immortal Song'. 

Kangnam took the second stage with his cover of Yoon Soo Il's "Apartment". He said boldly, "If I don't get 1st place today, I'm done with music. I prepared with death in mind, so please watch."

It was obvious that Kangnam put his all into his performance, transforming the upbeat track into a slow song and then back again. It was MAMAMOO(Highlight for Spoiler) who took the final win.

On the May 13 airing of SBS's 'Laws of the Jungle in Papua New Guinea,' the members celebrated Kangnam's birthday.

 

They sang for his birthday, touching his heart.  Then A Pink's Hayoung asked him, "You've become 30 this year, so do you have any wish?" and without even mulling it over, he blurted, "Getting a girlfriend."

 

Hayoung replied, "Looks like a hard one to fulfill," making everyone laugh.

M.I.B's Kangnam brought out a saxophone on the May 21 installment of 'Immortal Song'!

 

Kangnam was the second one to perform with his cover of Jo Kyung Soo's "Happiness Is". He said before his stage, "If I don't get 1st, I won't eat. Last time, I said that if I lose I'll stop doing music, and I got in trouble with my agency. Today, I won't eat."

 

The M.I.B member pulled out all the stops with back dancers and his own saxophone performance. Jo Kyung Soo praised, "Watching Kangnam singing was like returning to 40 years ago. His rendition was so good."

 

It was Kim Jang Hoon (Highlight for Spoilers) who took the final win.

For those of you who've been madly missing hip-hop group M.I.B, here's a little treat! 

 

M.I.B's rapper SIMS recently dropped a surprise MV to a sick new track titled "24/7" on his official YouTube channel, telling us that his skills haven't gone anywhere!

So hopefully this year we can change the badges up a bit if everyone is game, since we missed it last year. This is the breakdown of the badge holders as they stand right now. 

 

The current group badge has 4 holders, and only 2 are still active on the forum (myself included in that), the other two have been inactive since February. 

 

5zic has 3 holders, and only 2 of us are active, with the third being a banned account. 

 

Cream/SIMS have the same 1 holder who is an active user. 

 

Kangnam has 1 holder (myself again)

 

 

So we have 4 active badge holders in total on the forum. Given that the group needs 5 people to approve an op we'll have to ask for special consideration given the circumstances. That is if everyone can agree on an op, or someone would like to be the op. I can if no one else is interested in op-ing.

I think its between you and me Basil. I don't think anyone else will volunteer.

I was OP for Dalmatian/DMTN badge thread and I think I flopped even with someone making the mock badges for me.

 

I think it would be good to update badges this time, because honestly I don't know how much more time we have left with MIB as a group so lets make the most of it. I didn't make a post about it, but a MIB fansite contacted Jungle Ent and they said they have no upcoming plans for an MIB comeback. Their solo music isn't doing too well, Sims and Zick also didn't pass their SMTM5 auditions and I have this horrible feeling that they were really counting on that going well. I don't know what to think. Then on Zick V App broadcast everything he said just seemed so...final and I saw a lot of sadness in his eyes. Jungle is just leaving these boys hanging, with the exception of Kangnam because he is making money. I hope and wish I am wrong about everything, but the new generation of kpop fans don't seem to have one bit of interest in MIB. I think MIB's window of opportunity has now closed. Jungle Ent. failed them and they're not doing much better with their girl group 4TEN either.

I think the number of holders has gone down over time sadly. :(

 

That really is sad to hear about the group's future. I'm sure we all had an inkling that this might be the path they were headed down. I hope it isn't of course, but the signs as you said are definitely not favourable. 

 

On the plus side everyone that is active and holds the badges has agreed to support the change, so really it just comes down to if you would like to op or if I should do it. I'm fine either way. Let's do these men some justice and pick some beautiful badges. ^^

M.I.B's SIMS is killin' it with the dope verses.

 

In a new track titled "Bull," SIMS spits some rhymes and punchlines, proving that he's still got what it takes to be in the game. The beat was produced by Clams, and the lyrics were penned by SIMS himself. 

 

Let's hope that SIMS will continue to release more songs from now on!

TWICE's Sana disses Kangnam's Japanese

 

 

TWICE's Sana and Kangnam spoke in Japanese on the July 14 broadcast of KBS 2TV's 'Happy Together 3'!

 

First, the MCs said to John Park suspiciously, "Your English is bad," then they moved their attention to Kangnam, who introduced himself in Japanese.  When TWICE's Sana then introduced herself in Japanese, the MCs said, "Now that's the real thing," next targeting Kangnam's language speaking skills.

 

Sana jumped on board, telling Kangnam, "I don't think your Japanese is that good.  You speak with a Korean accent."  Kangnam insisted, "I'm good at Japanese," but Sana simply said, "You're my senior in variety, but I think I'm your senior in Japanese," causing laughter.

The idol, who was recently added to the lineup of 'Laws of the Jungle in Mongolia' for yet another trip to the jungle, uploaded the photo below on August 3 with the caption, "I cut it because I'm going to the jungle~ It feels nice and cool~ What do you think?"

 

It's still that same, eye-catching blonde, but it's the shortest on him in a while! Do you like it?

Welcome! I'm surprised to see someone new here.

MIB is on hiatus since 2014. They do participate in individual activities. Their vocalist Kangnam is more famous for his individual activities, in variety & reality shows than he is MIB's Kangnam.

Well i just listened to them just this week...kinda too late really. I know kangnam from variety shows and i know he is a singer cause of MIB but i havent really tried listening to their song until just this week. I was shocked of how their music is kinda different from the kpop songs these days and im hoping to see them too comeback. I just listened to sim's new song today and it gives MIB aura.

 

My bias is kangnam but i love them all in the chisa bounce era:)

*cries* im hoping he only refers to their cb this year. Their company didnt announce anything about disbanding. A lot seems to anticipate their cb though.

M.I.B's Kangnam and trot singer Tae Jin Ah are back again for a collaboration!

 

Back in March of 2015, Kangnam and Tae Jin Ah worked together for a release titled "Traditional Market", and have decided to get together again for a duet titled "Let's Sell People" this year. The MV will reportedly feature cameo appearances by actress Yoon Mi Ra and more. 

 

Kangnam and Tae Jin Ah aim to depict both laughter and hope in "Let's Sell People".
