M.I.B's Kangnam will be donating his hugs for charity! The idol star is stepping up once again to help out disabled children who need medical treatment with a special event.

He'll be joining hands with the online donation service wegen.kr for the hug charity event on December 14 at 2PM KST in Gangnam, Seoul. The idol star will be hugging 200 donators, who give at least 1000 Won (~90 cents USD). As for the fans who can't make it to the event, a few of those who donate online will be treated to a dinner by Kangnam and a signed M.I.B CD. 

Kangnam said, "Though it's a cold winter, I hope that you come out to the Gangnam district to hug me and that it's a time when many people can warm their hearts."

Kangnam reveals his favorite Girl's Day member + reveals the time M.I.B took economy while Girl's Day took business class

 

 

On the December 10 airing of 'Radio Star,' Kangnam revealed his favorite Girl's Day member and also recalled the time when M.I.B was put in economy seats while Girl's Day took business class seats for an overseas concert. 

 

When talking to male guests about their favorite Girl's Day members, actor Choi Tae Joon revealed that he liked Minah because of her adorable appearance. Comedian Yoo Byung Jae also added, "I like everyone but I like Sojin (the most) from Girl's Day. It's not like I don't like it but girls with too much aegyo make me uncomfortable." 

 

And in an effort to save face, Hyeri asked Kangnam who his favorite member was, to which he responded with confidence, "For me, it's Hyeri. But once I saw her laugh, I wasn't so sure anymore. I was shocked because her voice was so loud!" 

 

In addition, Kangnam recalled the time that M.I.B had sat in the economy seats while Girl's Day took business class during a flight to Myanmar for a concert. Hyeri said, "The seats were separated by your debut year. Girl's Day had seniority and half of the Dal Shabet members took business class." 

 

Kangnam also added, "Only the M.I.B [members] took economy seats." The MCs also added that with Girl's Day's current status, they would probably be able to get first class suites.

Hyeri and Kangnam reveal their not-so-great first impression of each other

 

 

 

On the December 10 broadcast of MBC's 'Radio Star,' Kangnam and Hyeri revealed that their first impression of each other was not so great, revealing the time they had met for the first time in Myanmar. 

 

On this day, MC Yoon Jong Shin initiated the conversation and revealed that Hyeri told the producers that she thought Kangnam was strange. It appears the feeling was mutual as to Hyeri's dismay, Kangnam had also told the producers that he thought Hyeri was strange.

 

Kangnam started to say, "We went to Myanmar for a concert..." Then Hyeri stopped him and darted, "We met before Myanmar! At the bingsu (shaved ice snack) store." The two idols then started to banter back and forth trying to remember the incident and finally, Kangnam said, "Oh! You're that girl!" making Hyeri blush and say, "I didn't have any make up on at the time." 

 

Kangnam then continued the story of the time they had met at the bingsu store and said that it was obvious that he was older out of the two. He stated, "Hyeri said, 'Oppa eat some bingsu [formally],' to which I said okay; she also called me 'oppa,' confirming that I was the older one, so I spoke informally."

 

However, Hyeri thought differently and said, "Yeah, but it wasn't like we arranged to meet up or anything; we just met unexpectedly. And you still spoke to me (informally)..." And being the mature oppa that he was, Kangnam apologized for his actions and for speaking informally, making Hyeri smile. 

 

Continuing the story of each other's first impressions, the MCs asked again why Kangnam thought Hyeri was strange. To which Kangnam answered, "When we went to Myanmar for a concert, I saw Hyeri walking around the hotel by herself. Just walking back and forth." 

Hyeri defended her actions and said, "I'm not good with directions. And it was because the hotel had upgraded our original rooms to suites...[so I had trouble finding it]."

Kangnam dances like a penguin to the beat of 'Penguins of Madagascar'

 

M.I.B's Kangnam is promoting the movie 'Penguins of Madagascar' in style!

 

In a promotional video, Kangnam is seen hilariously dancing along to the penguin dance, flipping his platinum blonde hair all over the place. 

 

He says in the video, "Fun penguin dance! You can dance alone, you can dance at school. You guys are going to do it with me, right? December is for 'Penguins of Madagascar!' Premiering on December 31! I'll see you in the theaters."

Kangnam reveals his childhood idols to be J.Y. Park and Shinhwa + childhood pictures revealed

 

 

On the December 12th airing of MBC's 'I Live Alone', rising variety idol Kangnam was seen visiting his motherland, Japan, for his mother's birthday. Compared to his empty, cold house in Korea, Kangnam's family home in Japan emanated warmth and love.

 

On this particular airing, Kangnam revealed that he idolized J.Y. Park and Shinhwa back when he was dreaming of becoming a singer. When Kangnam was asked when he started to dream of becoming a singer, Kangnam answered, "I thought long about it. When I went to an 'Open Music Festival' in Hawaii, I saw J.Y. Park [perform]. I think my life changed that day." 

 

In addition to celebrating his mother's birthday with a surprise party, Kangnam revealed pictures of when he was younger and just a bit chubbier than now. However, young Kangnam in the picture had the same mischievous smile and silly aura to him, drawing much attention.

 

Meanwhile, Kangnam revealed that he was bullied and ostracized for being different when he was younger. The idol had shared this particular story in the past when he confessed the circumstances were worse for him because of his short stature and because he's part Korean.

Netizens speculate that M.I.B's SIMS is jumping into the diss battle against Bobby

 

 

A post from M.I.B's SIMS from a few days ago is starting to garner attention for the possibility of being a diss geared towards iKON's Bobby, who recently became a hot topic for possibly writing diss lyrics targeting other idols, such as VIXX's Ravi.

 

Since then, Ravi has seemingly fired back with his own diss rap, after which SIMS has apparently joined the battle by posting a new track entitled "You."

 

The lyrics include, "You can't even keep the beat, so how dare you make fun? / I'm allergic to bastards that blindly talk bad about only idols / It's true there are kids who are bad at it and even if they do it their whole lives, they can't beat me."  Netizens are wondering if this is targeting Bobby.

 

More recently, he tweeted, "I empathized with what Bobby said, so I borrowed and used his expressions."

M.I.B's 5Zic drops solo track 'Chillin On My Bed' (ft. Roydo)

M.I.B's 5Zic, who previously presented fans with a sick solo track called "Hyena", is back with another song titled "Chillin On My Bed" (ft. Roydo)! 

 

This is his first official solo release on music sites and he aims to show fans his own individual color by writing, composing, and producing the song himself. 

 

With lyrics pertaining to facing realities as one enters his mid-twenties, "Chillin On My Bed" should be a song that many young adults should be able to relate to.

M.I.B's Kangnam opens up about his dating history

 

 

Rising variety star M.I.B's Kangnam opened up about his dating history on the December 17 episode of SBS' 'One Night of TV Entertainment'. 

Kangnam sat down for an interview on the day of his charity hug event on the 14th. When he was asked if he has any "some" relationship going on these days, he answered, "I want to have a some relationship with someone, but there's no one."

He also talked about his dating history, revealing, "I've dated about 4 women until now. No, it was 5," and added that he's generally weak when it comes to the opposite gender.

The reporter then asked what he would do if his girlfriend asked for 100,000 Won (~$91 USD), and Kangnam responded, "Are you crazy? You're not supposed to ask for money from your boyfriend."

Kangnam reveals how many women he's dated, his ideal type, and more for 'International bnt' pictorial

 

 

Rising star Kangnam's pictorial for 'International bnt' was recently released, garnering much attention for his matured look with his signature platinum blonde hair. 

 

For this pictorial, the idol dressed up in three different concept outfits, showing off his malleable charms. It was reported that throughout the photoshoot, Kangnam was his playful self and even ate one of the chips that were displayed as props stating that he was too hungry. 

 

When asked about his dating life, Kangnam truthfully revealed that he had dated two Korean girls. He said, "I've dated two Korean girls. I regret breaking up with the first girl though. As my ideal type of women, I would prefer someone who is pretty. But I think it would be better if she has a soft personality with a big heart. I want someone who can forgive me for everything, besides cheating." 

 

Meanwhile, the idol revealed his hopes of becoming a guest on hit variety shows such as 'Laws of the Jungle,' and 'Infinity Challenge,' for the upcoming year.

M.I.B's Kangnam to release solo track 'What Do I Do'

 

With his sudden surge in popularity after his appearances on variety shows, M.I.B's Kangnam has earned himself a solo release!

 

He teased for his first solo track through his Twitter where he shared the album jacket photo. The song is titled "What Do I Do" and the jacket image shows Kangnam walking down a street in New York with his trademark blonde hair.

 

In contrast to his upbeat and 4D image, Kangnam has prepared an emotional ballad that sings of the pains of breaking up.

 

The release will take place on the 26th!

M.I.B's Kangnam scores #1 on music charts for the first time since debut

 

 

Kangnam's solo song "What Do I Do" has scored #1 on music charts!

 

It's been #1 for 2 days on Daum's real time charts, and it's within the top 10 on the other major music charts as well. He managed to also rank #1 on the real-time searches for Melon, Mnet, Genie, Bugs, and Naver with this music release as well.

 

It's his first time being #1 on a music chart, either as himself or as a member of M.I.B. He's been gaining steady popularity lately through various music shows such as "I Live Alone", "Hello Stranger", "I Am Going to School", "Inner Thoughts Salon", and now "Invisible Man".

M.I.B's Kangnam supports 4TEN's upcoming comeback with cute selca + single cover teaser

 

 

The sister group to M.I.B, rookie group 4TEN is getting support for their "What's Going On?" comeback from label mate Kangnam.

 

Earlier today they uploaded photos with Kangnam on their Twitter account. The photos, labeled first teasers, show Kangnam giving them a hand heart, and looking as though he might be on the set of their music video supporting the girls.  In addition, they have also revealed a teaser photo of the single cover.

 

It's great to see Kangnam hasn't let his own personal fame keep him from supporting his juniors.

 

4TEN's new single will be released at noon on December 30th.

M.I.B's Kangnam comments on picking up award at 'MBC Entertainment Awards'

 

M.I.B's Kangnam commented on picking up an award at the recent 'MBC Entertainment Awards'.

Kangnam was given the honor of the 'New Star Award' at the '2014 MBC Entertainment Awards' for 'I Live Alone'. On the January 2nd episode of the reality show, he commented, "It was like a dream. I found out how it felt to win an award." He added, "I want to win an award for music too," expressing that he'd like M.I.B to be recognized.

He also mentioned he was apologetic about forgetting to mention his aunts, Seungri, Songee, and his M.I.B members during his acceptance speech.

M.I.B's SIMS (23) has been revealed to be in a relationship!

 

According to a source close to M.I.B in an exclusive by TV Report, SIMS is currently dating his non-celebrity girlfriend who possesses cute visuals. The rep stated, "We are aware that SIMS is in a relationship. They are a pretty couple, and have only started dating recently."

 

SIMS seems to have confirmed this news on his Instagram on the 10th, sharing, "Please watch over us fondly," along with photos taken with his girlfriend.

Kangnam to make a cameo on 'Pinocchio'

 

 

M.I.B's Kangnam will make a special cameo on the finale of SBS' 'Pinocchio' later today!

 

Kangnam came to make a cameo out of his connection with director Jo Soo Won and writer Park Hye Ryun, whom he previously worked with for his cameo on 'I Hear Your Voice'. He filmed his cameo on the 14th, and made the staff smile and laugh with his outgoing personality.

 

The drama's producer stated, "Kangnam not only readily accepted the cameo offer even in the midst of his busy schedule, he made the atmosphere on set more delightful so I'm very thankful... Please look forward to his impactful cameo on 'Pinocchio'."

M.I.B's Kangnam reveals that EXID Hani's manager told him not to get her number

 

 

On the January 18 broadcast of JTBC's 'Inside Story Salon', behind-the-scenes clips of M.I.B Kangnam and EXID Hani's '@star1' photoshoot were revealed. 

 

During the episode, Kangnam shared, "I did a photoshoot with Hani. An hour prior to shooting, Hani's project manager called me and said, 'Kangnam, you know what to do right? Don't ask for her number, and don't take pictures with her like you're her boyfriend. Take pictures with her like you're her oppa and she's your little sister.'"

 

Kangnam expressed his shock over EXID manager's protectiveness, saying, "I got annoyed. Although I don't know if there's a rumor saying that I'm the kind of person who gets numbers," causing viewers to laugh.

Kangnam recalls being slapped by a past girlfriend

 

 

On the February 5 installment of KBS's 'Happy Together 3,' trendy star Kangnam appeared and talked about a past girlfriend.

 

The topic first came up when fellow guest Sayuri dropped a bomb with, "At the Haneda Airport, one woman who was waiting for Kangnam grabbed his hair and hit him."

 

Kangnam explained, "I was in a band in Japan, and my current agency CEO said, 'Let's go to Korea together.'  At the time, the K-Pop wave was amazing, so I wanted to go to Korea. I had a girlfriend, but I went without telling her.  I wanted to return coolly after succeeding. However, she found out somehow and came to the airport.  As soon as she saw me, she slapped me.  My parents were there, too.  I was so shocked and my girlfriend kept crying, so I took her to a cafe to calm her down."

 

He then looked at the camera and apologized to his girlfriend.

 M.I.B's Young Cream under fire for belittling the Korean flag & giving fans attitude + apologizes

 

 

 

M.I.B's Young Cream has come under fire for his attitude towards his fans and belittlement of the Korean flag and its history.

 

He recently wrote, "Honesty, I don't like the red in our Korean flag. Later when I become the president, I'll change it ^.~ Does it make sense that our Korean flag has the color red even when we know what the red in the swastika and the Rising Sun flag both symbolize? I can't lie.. Don't live as you've learned please."

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He then posted a photo of the Korean flag with the red completely blued out, writing, "I'm Korean. This is a my-flag that I got from the Korean flag ^.~".

 

 

Understandably, his tweets sparked worry from M.I.B fans, who thought the controversial words that seem to disregard the actual meaning and history of the flag and the nation, could bring problems for the group. Fans tweeted him to consider the group's position and to be careful as he is a public figure and he could bring about negative attention for the group. However, Young Cream only responded offhandedly by saying, "I was feeling down because I've never been in a controversy, but I want to be in a controversy ^.~ And the people around me are all living well and they aren't concerned [about this]."

 

 

Fans pleaded with him to reconsider and to understand that he is not simply a random person on the internet and that even if he was craving attention, that this wasn't the way to do it. However, Young Cream fired back at his own fans and told them that he had never asked them to follow him on Twitter and that his Twitter is like his personal diary. When fans asked him if he thought so little of his fans, Young Cream replied that those who agreed with him were his fans, but those criticizing him didn't seem to be. This left quite a few fans, who had been tweeting him out of sincere worry and concern, in a distraught state with some commenting that they were on the verge of tears. However Young Cream went on to insist that they have nothing to worry about because Korean reporters are too busy to write about him.

 

However, reporters did in fact take notice of his bold statements, and once his tweets were publicized in the media, netizens fired back at him. Realizing this, Young Cream then deleted all the controversial tweets and issued an apology in a series of tweets, writing, 

 

"I'm sincerely sorry. I didn't want to hurt the Korean flag at all, and I'm sorry that I caused trouble because I was just caught up in my emotions and did not reflect on what they meant. I'll use the words that I cannot take back that disturbed many people as a step toward becoming more mature. I'll become someone who can contribute to the nation by becoming a better person by considering this trouble I caused through my personal issue as another chance. I promise. I'm really sorry to everyone, including the thankful people who believed in me. I've deleted the problematic posts. I'll take all criticism toward me. But all of it was my own, foolish claims. Even though I am still immature, I don't think it's right that fans and those around me, who believe that I'll change and still give me a chance, defend me and support me no matter what. If I look back now, I crossed the logical line and I even hurt the fans who understood that and tried to help me. I want to apologize for that again. I'm sorry. Also, those words were my own disrespectful ones and are not from anyone else. So if you could criticize only me, I'll look after my mistakes and I promise to definitely grow into a better person. Lastly, I'm sorry."

Kangnam reveals which 'Unpretty Rapstar' he wanted and didn't want on his team

 

 

On the February 12 episode of Mnet's 'Unpretty Rapstar,' the participants were to go off on a rap battle after personally picking whose team to go on with Verbal Jint, Seulong, and Kangnam as the choices. 

 

In relation to this, Kangnam chose AOA's Jimin as the rapper he wished would come into his team.  He said, "I feel like if Jimin raps it, a lot of people would listen.  I feel like Jimin would come to me."

 

However, he showed the opposite feelings toward Jessi, saying, "I wish that strong person wouldn't come.  I wish Jessi would go into Seulong's team."

 

Ironically enough, Jessi chose to be in Kangnam's team in the end.  When she appeared, though, instead of showing an unwelcoming attitude, he appeared as if he were cheering her on.

 

Seeing this, Jessi said, "Kangnam's personality is very odd."
