For me personally, I think it's that the group I stan captivated me more in learning more about their origins and side activities. Plus, it saves you time and money. It's not like I'm not open to other groups it's just that there's no other group that gave me the same satisfaction as them. Like stanning them is the most rewarding thing in my kpop journey. ellectrified 3,571 Posted May 15, 2015 Share Posted May 15, 2015 Well, I only stan groups that are unique, edgy, and not too mainstream (and by mainstream here, I refer to the overly-too-common cutesy and sexy concepts - "sexy" here meaning revealing clothes and cleavage and sensual gestures) f(x) has had some edgy songs, unique concepts that I think is not all cutesy. (Yeah, they did cutesy with Chu but that was long ago. I don't think they've done anymore cutesy concept - which is boring - and went amazing with Pink Tape and Red Light). I also stan Mamamoo because they are in the Kpop scene but their retro concept and songs are just eye-catching and attention-grabbing for me. It's different, they show elegance of the retro eras and fierceness of their vocal prowess. (Like, there are some users here saying that Mamamoo is a rookie group whose members actually have star-quality that professionals would have. Now, that's why I stan them.) I stan SNSD (albeit not stanning hard again like when I was before 9/30) because their concepts for each comeback are quite surprising. I mean, Mr. Mr. had them wear men's casual clothes with jeans and boots, and then there was Marine Genie, and colourful pop during IGAB and Goddesses during The Boys. Those were fabulous. And some of their songs are actually amazing bops (especially the Japanese ones, Karma Butterfly slaying me hard to the bone and soul).
