150516 Update about Wu Yifan vs. SM Lawsuit

SM will drag it as long as they want if they think that they have any chances of wining it. Their contracts are in order after they changed them during JYJ lawsuit so I'm sure that they will want to go to court.

Good luck to Kris I guess.

Hmm, I wonder if they'll take it? It would be good if they finally got it over with tbh... But I feel like SM wants to drag this for as long as possible unfortunately...

Wow this have been dragging over a year now, isn't SM tired already I don't think they will win anyways.

How long did it take JYJ to end their lawsuit again.
SME will do anything to drag it out.
I lost count on how many lawsuits SME has now. They really should focuse on their current groups not focuse on groups or idols who had left.

I hope sm doesn't drag this as long as they did with jyj. I'm so sick of sm and their shitty ways

God, just let the man live SM. Stop wasting your time and do something productive and worth while.

Can I ask why you guys think SM is the one dragging it out? Legitimate reasons please.

I think it's being dragged out on its own because both sides can't reach a settlement, not that one side is purposely dragging or whatever. I think both sides wouldn't want to go to court.

Because ending with this fast would be more beneficial for Kris. He could continue with his career without anyone messing around.

It's probably SMs side who's making reaching an agreement harder.

Because it is SME. They will never let you go.

For JYJ SME side delayed it by bringing wrong documents or someone on SME side didn't show up so it got delayed every time that happened. I mean even the judges were pretty tired by that.

Considering how they deal with most of their past artists, it seems SM has the habit of trying to mess with their careers in other to discourage their current artists of leaving. For example, JYJ... It's been years since they won the lawsuit but only this year Junsu was able to go to a music concert again...

And well, if we take some rumors into account, it seems Luhan wanted to pay himself out of the contract but SM didn't accept the deal he offered. Idk how that works but I wouldn't doubt it tbh.

Disclaimer: I'm indifferent to the situation, I'm just curious to see where you guys are coming from. ^^

Ending it fast would be beneficial to SM as well. SM has no grounds in China, Kris is still promoting freely and successfully with or without interference. I still don't see why SM would want to drag it?

Why? SM already let go of Kris when they threw his name in the mud LOL. There's no going back.

Interesting how rumors in his favor are not doubted, and can easily be accepted as "truths" while rumors against his favor are automatically denied and shutdown. I would treat that rumor the same as any other rumor, just ignore it. :p

Discouraging their artists from leaving, that's a concept adopted by all the entertainment companies around the world. I don't think there exists a single company who would say "feel free to leave whenever you want" lol. SM is a shady company, that is true. But I also think JYJ burned a few bridges with their lawsuit which may contribute to them being blocked. The ent industry is a small world in SK. There exists more artists who left SM and are promoting freely without interference, than there are who are blocked.

Because they actually have high chances of winning the lawsuit.

Just look at JYJ: they really had slave contracts but the trial went on for 3 years and they didn't win the case; they reached an agreement. Kris contract is legal and was approved by korean laws after the whole JYJ fiasco so his chances for wining it seem pretty slim (if there are any at all).

Is SM wins the lawsuit Kris and his agency will need to pay damage fees and all the cost of the lawsuit. Reaching an agreement won't be beneficial for SM unless they are sure that they will lose.
