Feryal youssed , a Tunisian actress living in Egypt (the one who's wearing shorts) and Abeer Sabry , an Egyptian actress were accused for being "shamless" "rude" and "over exposed" by emirati women @ one of dubai's biggest malls.

This is Tottaly fucked up tbh .. I saw people wearing worse dresses in Dubai .. In UAE there is NO SUCH THING AS DRESS CODE.

There is still a difference between Advising and shaming btw.  :donthinkso:

what do you guys think of this mess?

If you want a quick translation of what they were saying in the video let me know in your reply below (I'm a native Tunisian arabic speaker)

That's embarrassing. I feel bad for the ladies that were being shamed.

I thought that there was an unwritten rule that you should not expose too much skin. I guess I was wrong.

Only if you are going to go to a mosque or for some other religious function but tons of tourists and foreigners walk around Dubai in skirts or shorts

True. When I was in Dubai all the foreigners (which were mostly from some place like Russia) were in shorts. There were obviously religious people there, but nobody said anything.

Yes, I agree, tho she should have been nicer.

Blame the persons don't blame the religion.

if it wasnt for her religion she wouldn't be acting this way at all. But anyway you are relgious and delusional that is why u agreed with that other comment.

Having a religion isn't a crime, that's first. "Her" religion didn't ask her to shame people, but it asked its believers to have some things they should stick to, for women, it's to not show excessive skin. The two women are hypocrits if they're muslims, that's second. Finally, I'm proud of my religion, and you're free to have that close mind set about religious persons.

To all those people who are blaming religion off the bat, y'all need to take several seats. It's true that in Islam a believing woman should dress modestly, but it's also true that if she decides not to that there is no compulsion in the religion and you can't force someone to do something (even if it's for their own "good") against their will. I can see how these outfits would be problematic from a cultural point though. Arabs (even pre-Islam and those who arent Muslim and those who are only lip Muslim too)are generally more conservative when it comes to clothes, although that has become less and less common these days.

A little summary of what's going on in the video: the two emirati girls are being obnoxious and rude to the two actresses about how revealing their clothes are. One of the actresses (in black) kinda says "Who are you to be telling me this? Do you have a certain job that entitles you to telling people what to wear and stuff?" and one of the Emirati girls says "Well yeah, I'm an Emirati citizen and in our country you don't talk back and you're obscene and your clothes are vile etc."

Honestly, it's just a big unnecessary mess. IDK why that girl was overreacting about a dress code, and in Dubai of all places. If this was in a holy city like Mecca or Medina I'd understand where she's coming from, but in the Sin City of the Middle East? Gurl.. You tried.

she shouldn't have said anything, she knows shes going to be happy in the after life and those women will get what they deserve.

She was probably just jealous because those women are rich and attractive and she wanted to slut shame them to feel better about herself.

That's what I said, that the girls have no right to be telling the rules to someone. It's written in Quran and at the end of the day to each person his own judgement.

The only thing I said before is not to blame the religion, because terrorists are using Islam to do many things against Islam. And for the first comment I replied to, was just to agree that people should act according to their beliefs, have you seen someone believing in communism but act liberal? (well, it's a floppy comparison, couldn't think of better way to explain myself)

i read a comment under the video saying that's not the whole story behind the video. they're saying the Egyptian actress was trying out underwear and kept coming out in her underwear to the main area of the store to take more items to try so that Emirati woman told her to respect the other customers in the store and to stop strutting around in her underwear making everyone feel uncomfortable but the actress ignored her and kept at it in purpose just to annoy the woman so the latter called the security. lmao #mess

Makes sense then why she was saying "We saw what you were wearing before. Are you saying we're all liars and you're honest?"

#Mess.

Ive been to Dubai a lot and nobody tells you anything unless you were being really provocative. Like those shorts that show your ass will obviously make the security kick you out, but with normal shorts nobody cares, especially not the Emarati dudes.

In Dubai, there IS a dress code and a behavior code: no outrageous clothes, no drinking in the public places. And the police and security are really effective

In this case tho, the egyptian woman seems dressed okay so I dont see why she was called out like that. The emarati girl was really rude.
