Though no official announcement has been made, actress Alicia Vikander confirmed that she is the new face of Louis Vuitton at the brand’s Resort show yesterday in Palm Springs. (Louis Vuitton also confirmed the news to Style.com.)

Vikander, who stars in this month’s Ex Machina and will feature in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming The Man From U.N.C.L.E., is the latest actress to sign a coveted deal with the French house. At the moment, other Vuitton faces include Michelle Williams and Jennifer Connelly, though past campaign stars have covered everyone from Sofia Coppola to Jennifer Lopez. Vikander’s appointment as an official LV muse shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to those who have been tracking the actress’s red-carpet turns of late. Aside from sitting front-row at the past two Vuitton shows, she wore the brand to the Met Gala earlier this week and to the vast majority of her public appearances this year.

How Vikander will fit in her Vuitton commitments while starring in and promoting eight films in 2015 is not totally clear, but the on-the-rise actress seems up for the challenge. At least she’ll have Nicolas Ghesquière’s new desert boots to carry her along the way.

probably because she doesn't have fake full lips fake nose and fake boobs and butt that pop out of her clothes? (at least from that picture)

What I mean by basic is she doesn't have a face of an editorial model. When shooting an ad you should have memorable faces. She has a face of a person that you'd look at think she's pretty and then forget it two seconds later.

Yea, none of those are what really makes a person memorable looooool

She does look basic and it's definitely not because she lacks that stuff

She looks so.........basic

Like she's pretty, but her face is so forgettable

I totally agree with you and get what your saying...

When I first saw her I thought "pretty..but forgettable" she's not ugly but plain...

She's lacking distinct features that would make her stand out

But maybe Louis Vuitton wanted that

That's so unfortunate she can't do anything about it with having no choice in how she looks and all. Guess she just has to deal with what her parents gave her, right?

What a debbie downer. Whale was just talking about how there are far better models who are less basic looking than her to be the face of LV. I could say the same about a person that can't pass through to be a model because her/his face doesn't suit to be a model. (and no shit, he/she was born that way???). Modelling industry is superficial to begin with, to comment on someone's look therefore is viable - not to the extent of throwing racial comments, of course. Music industry on the other hand is different thing.
