I have never ever met them, not even introduced myself because we work in completely different departments. So, this girl in particular. I'm getting rather sick and tired of her half ass comments. Today, I was talking to my colleague about who to vote for, and I said as a joke "yeah this might sound really nerdy but this party has this policy etc". Everyone at my table joined the conversation, so its not like I was the only one. So I heard her tell her male colleague in a whispering voice but loud enough to hear "At least she knows she's a nerd". And she keeps staring/making glances at me when she's by herself or with someone else. She's obviously not brave enough to say it directly to me, but rather she whispers insults when she's talking to her colleague. I'm sorry to say, but the guys don't help either. I have tried just ignoring her, and acting normal but she still doesn't seem to get it. I did actually bring it up to my manager but he was like "oh its just you're assumption" "how do you know she is" and even the Head of my department was like "They would never do that they're not like that etc". -------------------------------- Have you ever had a small minority of people bitch about you for absolutely no reason? Its even weirder, because she has never met me before. My department just happens to sit opposite to hers. Amazingly, she does this when everyone is around. When I'm by myself, or I see her around she completely avoids me and doesn't say anything at all. I don't even think she does this to anyone else. This girl started talking to other girl " how can people wear makeup in morning..ugh..I can't even bother. I just come to work w/o makeup cuz I am only gonna be at work for the whole day and not anywhere special" I thought she was shading me but she had a point so I didn't say anything..also cuz i was not sure if it was at me. Everyone else is alright and don't give a crap about anything I do/say. So I'm not worried about them. She won't say it if its dead quiet and actually if I'm by myself. I'm just waiting for her to insult me directly, so I can really make her embarrassed, but I'm in an awkward position too as my manager didn't believe me when I told him about her. They didn't tell her nor did I make a formal complaint so I don't get her. Honestly I've been through that before and I ended it with speaking up and calling her on her shit and starting a fight. For now I suggest just giving her a smirk....like the one where "I see you..I know what you're saying but I'm too good to legit give you my full attention" kind of smirk. (Or just the "fuck off" stare...)Stand strong and confident.....it'll just push her buttons even more and when she legit shows it, you can call her on her BS and settle things.....and that will be your "proof"(this is in regards to your manager not believing you..). Most people would say the mature thing to do would just be to ignore it and rise above it and she'll leave you alone, but given that you say you don't think she has the courage to say anything like that to your face, in your situation I'd call her out on it next time you overhear her saying something snide about you. Especially if it's in public among other people. She'll probably change her tune with swiftness when you call her out and it'll put an end to the unwarranted bitchiness.
