Tsubaki Factory / ã¤ã°ãファクトリー / Camellia Factory is a Hello Pro Kenshuusei unit under Hello! Project, formed with six members of the trainee program in April 2015.

On April 29th Hello! Project announced the formation of a new unit named Tsubaki Factory.

 

The name of the group was selected by former Berryz Kobo captain and current Hello! Project advisor Saki Shimizu.

As with Kobushi Factory, Shimizu seemed to be aiming for this new group to keep the spirit of Berryz Kobo alive for future generations. The choice of “tsubaki†originated from the flower (camellia Japonica) which is strongly tied to Japan and is an evergreen plant, so it is hoped that Tsubaki Factory will be just as resilient to any metaphorical “cold weather†they may experience. The word "Factory", is also used in the name of their sister group Kobushi Factory, and is named to reference Berryz Koubou ("koubou" meaning "workshop"), so that the group may carry on Berryz Koubou's spirit

In flower language, the tsubaki represents “prideâ€, “modest kindnessâ€, and “supreme lovelinessâ€. 

 

The group will make its first performance at the upcoming Hello! Pro Kenshuusei Happyoukai 2015 ~Haru no Koukai Jitsuyoka Shindan Test ~ on May 4, 2015 

 

Trivia: 

• Shimizu Saki assisted in picking the group name and members.
• Asakura Kiki, was in Hello! Pro Kenshuusei for only 6 months and 5 days, before joining the unit.
• Ogata Risa and Tanimoto Ami were in Hello! Pro Kenshuushei for only 5 months before joining the unit.
• All the members are born after the original formation of Hello! Project

Need hear them first to make up my mind but by their look it seems they'll be singing more cutesy type songs but that's just my thought. Im kinda set on Kobushi factory and I hate the fact that they also have factory in their name, to me it takes away from the uniqueness of the name Kobush Factory. Hamachan can't seem to catch a break.

The fact that it happened before they even had a major debut is proof they didn't feel the group as was had what it took to stand on it's own. And they didn't. They really needed an upgrade.

I have the feeling that they were suppose to be a big group at first, but there wasn't any KSS that seemed to fit the group at that time. The only new member that was there when Tsubaki formed was Saorin, who has been working with PINK!SS in Shizuoka.

 

And considering how they were really slow, it showed that H!P had no interest in debuting them at that time. Of course, now with C-ute announcing their upcoming disbandment, it makes sense why they recently announced 3 new members and their monthly fanclub event challange they're having so that they can debut.

 

Anyways, I personally prefer odd number groups over 5 people, so I am satisfied. :^) I was only expecting 1 member though, and I was really hoping for Saorin to join. Lol.

Its been announced at their FC event that their major debut is going to be on Feb 22, 2017 and its a triple A-side (duh). Feb. 22 = Tsubaki no tsu tsu tsu day basically C-ute no HI but for TF  One of the songs will be revealed at their next FC event

I'm actually really looking forward to this, not only because I like the group, but also because H!P really seems to be putting effort into their MVs now + debut MVs usually look better + they get more promo
