It's an absolutely unnecessary confession but its under the spoiler. Please kindly ignore if you are annoyed with my constant confessions or if you are here for Tzuyu's Update.

 

 

 

This confession was overdue a long time ago but I finally decided to post it after watching Tzuyu in TT and reading her Mom’s interview regarding the said MV. I have seen her for over a year now and since past one year she has grown up so much from this reserved; little sassy introvert to this fine and playful young lady. Over the year, she has transformed into this Visual Goddess whom even her Mom failed to recognised at first glance. When I first saw her; fell for her I had never imagined I would come to love her to an extent where she could be literally the centre of my small universe. She has brought so many changes within me- positive ones at that. Looking couple of months back, I don’t think I could see myself being so open about my confession and all on a forum just to support her and appreciate everything she has done. Like how often do you fall for someone who doesn’t know about your existence yet you support her the best you can just coz you believe she deserves the best there’s to offer? I might have started to like her because of her Beauty but I chose to stay because of her personality. She is so humble; hard-work and so down to earth that one can’t simply just walk away after coming across her. Btw, she shouldn’t wear Red Lipstick anymore. I am starting to see her as a woman.I just don’t wanna be a delulu fan and start tripping to wonderland. I want her to stay as Yoda. Just Yoda. Like Giant Yoda who is a maknae. Just as Yoda Tzuyu. Not RedYu   but Playful Yoda Like this

Yes girl is precious - I'm glad so many people around the world have given her their love and support! She deserves all the success and happiness.

 

If we're talking about confessions, I've been troubled by the thought that creeps may be hitting on Tzuyu and/or harassing her. She's still a minor and a rookie, I'd hate to think that there are older men out there preying / trying to take advantage of her. I hope JYPE management and TWICE unnies protect her, as well as Chaeyoung.

I heard that a fan told Tzuyu to shut up at a recent fanmeeting.

 

It was apparently towards the end when they were wrapping up the fanmeet and Jihyo asked Tzuyu to say the closing words, which the fan protested to and asked Tzuyu to shut up. 

 

The fan apparently has sinced apologized and said he didn't mean it to come across that way, and promised that he would personally apologize to Tzuyu at the next fanmeet.

WOW HOW RUDEEEE. you come to see the girls and told them to shut up. like are you even a fan. people can be so unconsiderate sometimes.

 

The fan don't want the fan meeting to end, instead of using polite word. But he come out with a rude word. You can clearly see Tzuyu stunned when she heard that word, and Tzuyu fansite masternim @TZUYU_DOTCOM is really pissed.

at least he apologize whether he going to apologize the next fan meeting, if not mistaken he did not say that.

 

I heard he said he would apologize face-to-face next time.

Anyway it was totally uncalled for and rude, and I'm glad the masternims and other fans put him in his place.

Yeah something funny going on there. It seems like they're playfully teasing Jungkook and he is looking all shy. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a crush on her and the members are teasing him about it.

I want Tzuyu to do more solo work tbh.

She is the one with the popularity, public recognition and potential yet gets very little these days.

She's not even close to being the center/focal point in TWICE related activities apart from some group CFs here and there.

I think Tzuyu can pull off a song like Little Happiness (by Hebe) - theme song of Our Times. Something that is nice, pleasant and not vocally strenuous. The movie was very popular in Sth Korea as well, so it would be easily recognized by young Koreans.

 

Tzuyu has a stable/solid voice, she just has a rather limited range at the moment....but this can be improved in time.

tac is right. Tzuyu simply doesn't attract stans. Being popular with the public doesn't mean you have the most fans. The public only knows Tzuyu because of the flag incident. If they liked her so much, they would stan her, instead of just posting comments on her Naver articles. There's a saying by knetz about Tzuyu; she's a flower without a scent and she is the member that introduces you to the other menbers. Meaning you get into Twice because of her, but once you get into the fandom, you start stanning someone else. This is true because that's what happened to me. I started supporting her and Twice because I felt bad a 16 year old was being bullied for no reason. But once I started actually getting into Twice, other members caught my attention. There will always be a special spot for Tzuyu tho.

 

Also tac, JYPE tried to push her after CU promos ended. They sent her on a whole bunch of different variety shows like that eating show, Happy Together, refrigerator show and some others. They gave her an opportunity to shine but she didn't really do much with it. Yea ok, she trended on Naver for missing her mom but she didn't leave a lasting impression like Cau Lu did on Radio Star. I think she's content with being just another member. She doesn't feel the need or want to become an IT girl. Or she's just too shy, who knows. Basically, she's a flower without a scent... Also, k-onces are becoming more and more annoyed with Tzuyu that her Korean hasn't improved AT ALL since her debut, sadly true as well. In 2017 JYPE will be pushing Nayeon, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, Jungyeon in Korea and the jline in Japan. I see Tzuyu and Jihyo being brushed aside tbh.

You say she is not a stan attractor yet she has one of the biggest fanbases and dedicated (Korean) fan sites.

Her birthday projects alone and the amount of donations/gifts from fans would also say otherwise.

Hi, I've been a tzuyu stan since sixteen and this is my first post in OH i usually just read because most of this forum is toxic to Twice. I've been seeing all this concern even on twitter. I think we should be patient at least for now since she's not even an adult yet. I think the losing popularity is mostly to the men/fanboys demographics since thats been dominated by Sana since cheer up and tbh i'm kind off glad cause you can see the shift on her articles to fangirls. Thats a good thing for her in the long run cause fangirls usually stays even if you have dating scandals btw not all fanboys but they can drop you as soon as your involve or rumored to be with someone just like what happened to Seoulhyun.

Yes you mention a very good point. There has been a demographic shift in terms of interest in Tzuyu, in particular more females. She is still popular it seems with older males (those in their twenties and over), but is gaining more attention from females. You see in a lot of her articles the male/female shift is almost even split.

 

To be honest I'd rather have this balance as like you said, no female idol has been able to maintain popularity in the long term with a majority male fanbase. They will drop you like a hot potato once a younger/prettier/sexier idol comes along or when you get into a dating scandal. Look what happened to Hani, Seolhyun and even IU. But those with huge or equal female fanbases - ie. Taeyeon, Suzy, Yoona, Krystal etc remain practically untouched.

I'd rather Tzuyu have this type of consistency rather than hot-flash-in-the-pan popularity/relevancy.

 

Besides, I think we should all not become too worked up as it's far from being doom and gloom. I wouldn't be surprised if JYPE has been approached already by people wanting to offer Tzuyu solo projects but have been rejected for whatever reason. I do feel that JYPE has become more careful since the whole flag controversy so maybe they are more hesitant to shine the spotlight on her like they did during the first release/promos. It is in Tzuyu's interest to improve more in order to get more opportunities but I think she recognises her limitations and is working hard at it. I think people often forget she is just a teenager and still growing into her own person. We need to be patient.

 

Finally regarding other members' popularity - I think it would very strange for Nayeon not to have the fanbase that she has considering she is the most pushed by JYPE. They are almost desperate for her to be popular as she is the original member they had banked on as the face/center and probably considered by JYPE as the most marketable - that is until Tzuyu derailed those plans during SIXTEEN and since TWICE's debut, and then Sana's SHY SHY SHY happened. Looks like they are getting back on track with their original plan.

Guys, please refrain from talking in any disrespectful manner to ANY Twice member. Someone in here posted a comment that was a little rude towards another member and it's making me uncomfortable. Nayeon is doing great, just as Tzuyu is. Sana is doing great, just as Tzuyu is. Jungyeon is doing great, just as Tzuyu is, etc. Let's not bring up one member's lack of a rise in popularity to try to make Tzuyu look better. Twice is a 9-member group and each one is worthy of doing well. This is not a competition

A lot of Tzuyu stans know she's not the fav in jype and jyp seems indifferent towards her thats something i'm worried about actually not the other members popularity or who is the most popular. I've accepted it but it can be frustrating to new fans.

This, as a Tzuyu fan since Sixteen, I have come to accept this and life goes on.

I do hope Chaeyoung gets more love and opportunities too, she's been ignored for too long :(
