BAP's album sale today....

TellMeWhy

Recommended Posts

Apparently, BAP's physical album was supposed to be released tomorrow, but they have already sold over 20k of their album as of now.

However, at around 5:30pm KST, 18k albums were sold in one hanteo chart update alone. Has there been anything like this recorded for any other group? I really don't think k-babies have the buying power for this to happen. 18k is the first day sales of a top-tier group, much less in a single update.

K-babies just do not have the buying power to achieve this. BAP's international fandom, though relatively big, do not have the buying power to get this kind of sales either. Btw I'm talking about 18k in a single update, not about the 20k in a day bit.

So..... discuss.

Probably pre-order sales that appear on the chart. It has happened before. Sometimes a few stores also sell the album the evening ahead of release day but it wouldn't be such high numbers if that was the case.

20k preorders.... even suju at their peak did not achieve this....

Are you saying s-babies managed to buy ~15k? I might believe BAP has 5k flying get sales but not 20k.

what i'm trying to say is they might play a part in having those sales.

holding a concert allows them to sell out all the albums they've bring to sg.

pre-ordering also plays a part of it.

afterall they've sold about 60k++ albums for one shot which might explain their rise of popularity after that comeback.

I fully expect BAP to sell 100k+ on Hanteo, but 20k preorders is a record breaking number.

I may be confusing things here but didn't EXO sell like 100k from pre-orders even before the actual release date or something? How come BAP can't do a fifth of that?

And if pre-sales are added up as soon as the album is marked as available that explains a sudden jump, no?

Anyway, I'm not totally sure how things work, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Where did you read that??? For Wolf, it sold 120k first week with both versions combined. 100k preorders does not happen in kpop.

no. that is stated in articles but they don't have those numbers in the chart before the album is released.

EXO had 300k pre-orders, but they didn't all appear like that on the charts. At most, they would sell around like 11,000+ per day, but they areknown to do well physically. This is just really suspicious when BAP's album sales have only been okay so far.

Where are you getting pre-order numbers?  Because a lot of top groups can probably get that many preorders.  And are all preorders actually counted on the first day?

As for the sudden rise, it is definitely suspicious though.

Probably not pre-orders but what I consider flying get numbers are the hanteo numbers on an album prior to album release. For example shinee has 2k(?) sales that are already recorded on the chart when their album is to be released tomorrow.

For reference suju has ~5-8k flying get sales at their peak.

But I read somewhere that preorders were not counted on the first day sometimes.
