I think it is finally time for SPICA! Like really.. :(

Recommended Posts

last year they had 4 comebacks,YES 4

In January:

In July the US debut:

In September the first sub-unit:

And in November another single:

And tbh all of them flopped.. AOA made it big with 3 comebacks last year and Spica made 4 but again no attention :(

They are so hard-working and give everything to make their group famous by acting etc

They should come back soon probably May-June with a mini and I just hope they can figure out everything becase all of their songs are just awesome! #SPICAFIGHTING :)

Also they have been stating that they plan to comeback soon, either late April or early May. Narae stated on the radio show she does that the song will be "bright"

Jiwon's SBS drama "Divorce Attorney is Dating" will start airing on April 18. She has a supporting character role.

i love "You don't love me"

i never heard "ghost" tbh

Ghost is their gift for their fandom named mercury in celebrating their 1000days since debut. they don't promote it. They only perform it live once during SAF last year

Well I really enjoyed all the songs they released last year, but I think the problem is that they only had one korean comeback with the full group, honestly I don't think Spica.S has helped them in any way, but at least the song is good xP
If they had properly promoted 2 songs maybe it'd have worked... But B2M's management is so freaking messy that I don't even get suprised with the lack of effort they put onto Spica

I just want ma babies to do well

They've been basically replaced by Mamamoo as the talented girl group. They have some good songs (Painkiller) and good-looking members (Jiwon and Narae) yet don't seem to have that it factor to breakout, shame.

VOCAL? they are freaking good!!!! no doubt!!!! with different vocal colours, their harmonies is the best for active girlgroup nowadays. Not to mention, their live performance is great

LOOKS and VISUAL? They are beautiful. And seriously said, they are the first girlgroup that I can differentiate every member immedietly bcoz they don't look the same with each other. First time I saw their tonight video, I though boa is a foreigner and Bohyung is korean with africans mix. But all of them were koreans.

Personalities?  they all have a great personalities. most of them are 4D and even the silent maknae have her own unexpected charms. You can check on youtube, tumblr or somewhere else

what they lack is (personal opinion)

1. appearance in variaties.

2. promotion. I hope B2M will do something. but B2M seems to improve a little bit this year with their other artists.

3. Kpop korean's fan song. to the date, I think, only YDLM appear to pleased korean kpop listerners so, the K-netizan doesn't really like their song and make them stuck in semi nugu. and this brings to the last reasons, which is

4. lack of media coverage bcoz, who is SPICA?

Ghost was definitely their best release last year!

Although I want to complain a bit about Kim BoA. While she's an excellent singer, during live she always tend to get slightly off tempo during strong melody parts, which is really annoying because I want to hear her perfect singing.

It seems everyone has an opinion as to why SPICA isn't popular, so that can be argued to death. But one thing I think that is soooo overlooked is their amazing versatility. The started off doing true R&B (not the jacked up kpop R&B), did a 90s throwback with "I'll Be There", kpop standard sexy with "Lonely", truly unique hippie/hipster concept with "Tonight", and a true retro (song style and concept) with "You Don't Love Me". Add in all their covers, non title tracks, OSTs (ballads, techno, pop) and show appearances (old school kpop, trot), and you can see these girls can truly pull off just about any concept, and not only that, they can pull it off live.

Many people like some of their songs but because they don't like all of them they somehow think SPICA is failing. If you ask people who were fans during their debut they loved the early R&B stuff but they don't like their current songs. If you ask newer fans they might say the exact opposite. I appreciate their entire discography because I like the variety.

I hope SPICA becomes popular, if only so I can stop hearing all these "music industry experts" constantly giving their opinions on every SPICA related thread, as to why they haven't made it.
