out of the title tracks, flower's was better, but happiness' wasn't bad

But, i did like happeiness' version of boyfriend best.

Eien is pretty good, but i have yet to hear or find a version with What i want :._.:

and a side not: while i like rui (that's her name right) and she's a great vocalist, i don't think her voice is really suited much for happiness' style

Happiness:

Songs:

Sunshine Dream:

Good song but not good enough to be an A-side tbh

Boyfriend:

Good. I see no difference between the two versions. Prefer Happiness' version a little bit more

Eien:

Awesome song 10/10

PV:

A hot mess. Concept, song and choreography didn't go well together.

Overall:

Not their greatest single. Absence of Mayu was a huge mistake. They should've let her participate in the single, but not the battle itself (events and stuff.) She could've saved the song if she sang it with Ruri.

---------------------------------

FLOWER:

Songs:

Taiyou to Himawari;

I'm a sucker for ballads and FLOWER's are no exception.

Boyfriend:

Good. I see no difference between the two versions. Prefer Happiness' version a little bit more.

what I want...:

Not my kind of song. It's okay, I guess. Their other b-sides are much better though

PV:

Flawless but it's nothing special from their other PVs. Not enough shots of Chiharu. She got like, 10 seconds total in the PV :/ Even when I went to make gifs for her I had to combine all of her shots to make a decent one OTL

Overall:

Good single. A-side is amazing but no Chiharu is just wrong :@

In the end, as much as I wanted to love Happiness single more, FLOWER's well-executed concept and solid song won this.

Flower stepped up their game quite a bit with the release of Taiyou to Himawari! It's arguably their strongest release to date because it showcases their signature sound while still further developing and maturing the sound of the group. Taiyou to Himawari has much more presence and aggression that wasn't prominent in their pass singles. It's nice to see that Flower are growing and attempting to spread out their sound because a lot of their singles have a tendency to sound similarly. Taiyou to Himawari is a much stronger offering than Sunshine Dream. Expected myself to like Sunshine Dream much more because Happiness catch my attention more and have release music that has a bit more variety and presence. However, Happiness handle Boyfriend in a much stronger manner and genuinely put forth a much stronger rendition of the record. Would further mention that I prefer Eien over What I Want. Happiness!

Taiyou to Himawari > Sunshine Dream by a bit

Boyfriend moonlight version < Boyfriend sunshine version (even though i really think that dance breaks in both really shouldn't have been there...)

what i want <<< Eien. i LOVE Eien

I'm not biased with this answer but i prefer FLOWER's style. The single is solid and the pv was awesome.

Happiness' single is awesome too but i don't like the ballad, too simple... and their boyfriend version is funny(upbeat) but the bridge with those screams.... the pv was amazing tok

A-side: Flower

Boyfriend: kinda on the fence about this. I like some parts of happiness' better, and some parts of flower's better. i found that happiness' version was a bit flat and the song just gets stagnant as you listen. like, the vocals were the same throughout the whole song while flower's had more variation.

also. i just need to get it off my chest. the random dance break bit in both songs is a disaster and kind of ruins both songs for me.  who the heck thought that it would be a good idea to put it in there? seriously.

B-side: I havent actually heard what i want yet. but based on the preview, i think i like Eien more. it's such a pretty song.

MV: Flower.

Overall... moonlight (Flower) wins!  but just because they're my bias
