J-Pop fan hoping to branch out

Hi! I'm Bill.

I'm 16, and I'm from the United States. As a big fan of J-Pop I've decided to learn a bit about K-Pop, and I have found that the best way to do this is to get to know its fans, and here I am.

I have been a forum stan since March of last year, and I have found that it is very fun; however, the forum I use has very few foreign music fans so I decided to come over here where my current little obsession is more accommodated.

I'm really open to listen to any K-Pop; I know literally almost nothing about it so recommendations would be highly appreciated. I hope to become a very active member of this forum, it seems like a nice place with great users and I hope my time here will be long and enjoyable. :)

Welcome

Well, if you're a J-POP fan i guess Kara and Orange Caramel are a must

SNSD had some great japanese songs as well, from there you can go into their korean ones.

I'll plug some of my faves: EXO, Big Bang, 2NE1, Brown Eyed Girls, B2ST, F(x) :derp:

Hello and welcome to the forum ^^

I would suggest you to listen to

,
,
,
and
for female groups, IU,
,
and perhaps
for female soloists and Big Bang for boy groups. Also take a look at Tasha (aka
) and Epik High if you're interested in hip hop.

Oh,

and
are also interesting soloists. I'd say
too but she only has 1 mini album.

Hello and welcome! What genres do you generally listen to(so I can recommend some groups to you )? :)

What kind of jpop genres do you like?

I like R&B influenced stuff, and I've dabbled in hip-hop at times. I'm a sucker for big, strong ballads too. Electropop and dance, as well.

You should try Davichi, Brown Eyed Girls and 15& out then imo. Maybe GOD (short for groove overdose) for male acts, or 2 AM.

I want to guess that you might like soloists since your dp is Ayu?

You might want to check out Ga In's

,
, and
. She's a member of an equally great girl group

Then there's IU. She released

of
stuff over the years, but she does have
of mature music. Her Modern Times album is probably one of my favorites in all of Kpop. Ga In even
in the album.

hi bill, welcome to the forum! I'm speaking from a biased perspective but you should give EXO a listen! start with their newest album EXODUS! ~

if you decide to listen tell me what you think x

Not sure what album it is from but I just listened to "Call Me Baby" and it's a bop, if not slightly repetitive.

Well, I will have more than enough new music to check out for a while! Going out of town later this week, it will be a perfect way to pass the time!
