I really hope no one will be horribly offended but I think it's important to learn about these things. Also please watch the video before deciding to neg me. They argue that black people shouldn't use it because of it’s negative history. Yet they also want a pass to use it. The question is, WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO USE THE WORD? Just be prepared for the consequences if you offend someone. There are black people who experience this word used against them as a racial slur, after all. The better question is, why do you need to use it? Is it going to lower the quality of your life in some way if you don't use the N word? How does using the N word benefit you in any way? It's the same thing as saying "I don't see color". Personally I posted this because so many people don't understand why it's not OK. Especially because as a black person quite a few threads made today made very uncomfortable. Again as she mentioned the football reference, you don't go up to someone and pat their butt if you aren't playing on their football team. Why would you feel the need to use the word if you aren't apart of the group? The argument of "we're all apart of the human race" would just erase everyone identity all together and frankly even so doesn't give people who aren't black to say it.
