Key points

Who Is Allowed to Say It? 1:48

"If you don't want people to say it, then you should stop saying it" 2:54

"It's not fair it's a double standard!" 4:08

I'm extremely nervous but I mainly decided to link this video because quite a few users on Onehallyu have said those 2 following statements and honestly I think this is a good video to learn from. I really hope no one will be horribly offended but I think it's important to learn about these things. Also please watch the video before deciding to neg me. Chescaleigh has a lot of good videos and I really recommend you watch some of them.

Now being serious black people say it because they never used it in a bad way to begin with, like my dad always call me "Mi Negra"... but others use it as an insult.

Even if white people don't mean it in an offensive way, they don't have the privilege of saying it.

I was talking about those who use it and don't want others to use it, not all black people

I can only speak for myself when I say I don't want to hear white people saying the n-word bc white folks just want a pass to use it in any context they want without any accountability or responsibility. They argue that black people shouldn't use it because of it’s negative history. Yet they also want a pass to use it. The question is, WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO USE THE WORD? Like spoiled, bratty, children, they want something they don’t even understand nor need, simply because they feel entitled to everything.

With "white people" I guess you refer to anyone who isn't black. I think you misunderstood me, I didn't say "If you can say that word, then white people can say it to!!1!!1!!", I said "If it's so offensive (btw I agree that it is), then wouldn't it be better to stop using it?"

I don't think it's offensive if black people use it. It's somewhat like a reclaimed slur.

For heavens sake, can we stop talking about this?

I still don't understand why it's not considered OK for everyone to say it, and yes I did watch the video.

You can say it, as the video explains. Just be prepared for the consequences if you offend someone. There are black people who experience this word used against them as a racial slur, after all.

The better question is, why do you need to use it? Is it going to lower the quality of your life in some way if you don't use the N word? How does using the N word benefit you in any way?

bc when used by white people the word still has the power to oppress and trigger, when used among black people the n-word has no power.

No because not talking about racism doesn't improve it. It's the same thing as saying "I don't see color". Personally I posted this because so many people don't understand why it's not OK. Especially because as a black person quite a few threads made today made very uncomfortable. Again as she mentioned the football reference, you don't go up to someone and pat their butt if you aren't playing on their football team. Why would you feel the need to use the word if you aren't apart of the group? The argument of "we're all apart of the human race" would just erase everyone identity all together and frankly even so doesn't give people who aren't black to say it. If the topic makes you uncomfortable I'm sorry.
