Definitely in my top five fav Kpop boyband groups. My bias is Kwangmin followed by JungMin with Donghyun in a close tie with Jungmin. My favorite song is "I Yah" and I'm so in love with "Witch." I was so so so happy and proud of the guys for their first win. When Youngmin was crying omg. I was too. My bias is Kwangmin but I'm gonna keep him but have a little Hyunseung on the side. ;) I just have such good feelings about this comeback lol. Usually when I like groups who have to work really hard to be somebody they end up getting there eventually and having lasting careers and are happy. SS501 is a good example (minus the KHJ shit now ugh). I'm just feeling so giddy and excited for this comeback. "Witch" was fantastic so I can't wait to see what they do with this. I love how STARSHIP release different songs and give Japanese fans their own music video different from KPOP ... my bias is Minwoo ... I like this kid so much, that I started following BOYFRIEND ... for the longest I thought the title of their new release is "BONUS" ... lmao ... it's BOUNCE ... baby BOUNCE ... hahahaha ... did you find out the hangul hashtag for the release ... what is this for?? BOYFRIEND members does need a break ... they release JAPANESE & KOREA all throughout the year ... I hope they hit major daebak so they could relax and focus on school a bit, because I don't have the energy to diss netizen when they graduate ... dae to the bak .. Boyfriend has been popular in Japan since their debut lol. Donghyun does musicals there. So yeah they have a wide fan base there and have for a very long time now lol. Didn't they start off for Japan? I remember someone telling me that once.... Minwoo is so adorable. I love his enthusiasm with dancing. I have such good feelings about this comeback lol. Oh and the Jazzy Group is taking requests from people on who to bring to the US next so people can just request. But if they had plans to come to the US they'd just do so anyways through Starship like with Chicago and Dallas. I wouldn't be surprised if later on in the year, in the fall sometime, they do come. It was in 2012, that's when we lost a big amount of BESTFRIENDS... as we can see, every KPOP group who promotes outside of KOREA seems to decrease their KPOP fanbase ... but that's how BOYFRIEND gets nice music videos and manage to afford both music videos, is because of promotion in JAPAN ... I recall them charting high in ORICON beating out TVXQ & SNSD ... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the article, posted on STARSHIP thread and ask jadakiss if she could translated if for us ... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't want them in the U.S. just yet, that's exactly what UKISS did ... I just remember a long time ago someone telling me that they were supposed to be originally for the Japanese market and never intended for Korea. I only heard it from this one person so I'm not sure heh but either way they found a niche in Japan and it has helped them a lot for sure and brought them a lot of really great opportunities. But yes. Outside money helps a lot. The market is smaller in Korea and so many Kpop acts so the competition is rough there with it. It's different in Japan and Boyfriend has really great Jpopish songs they release there. I remember they used to have a Cafe too that seemed to do pretty well. Last year I was doing some research on Korea and taxes and found out with Hallyu companies when they do outside activities like Kpop does they can audit it from their taxes.The last time I saw the govt had no type of system or something to tax these activities so that's why all these other companies are going to be going to China or South America. Both are places where the market has potential and the wave hasn't totally popped there yet. So, if you beat that and can get a fan base there good and strong you can ride that wave and make a lot of money. Similar to Boa, TVXQ, Kara, SNSD before the Hallyu wave in Japan. Does that make sense? So the company can make a shit load of money from that. That's why you had TS working the shit out of BAP in Japan and elsewhere because of that extra money. SM was even having accusations of doing safe haven accounts in Hong Kong using their idols names (Boa was one used) for that extra money. But anything with concerts, merchandise, fan club stuff can be audited. And right now the Hallyu wave is big and so all the companies are wanting to take advantage of this and get that money. Of course it can bring about situations like TS where the CEO was "disappearing" money that was supposed to go to the company. So Boyfriend being popular in Japan can really help with Starship's income and that can go towards the group and the company as a whole and bringing more acts in the future etc. Yeah, this isn't to bring them to the US it's to do a couple of tour stops like Kpop acts do lol. Like they did last year but it's not with Starship but with this company. Like how BAP had some stops here. I don't see Boyfriend making a debut here. The only Kpop boybands I could see doing a debut here is either BTS or Got7. But even with popular acts here they're still going to cities with a large Korean-American population. So even the companies aren't that confident about holding their own outside of those cities. And honestly Kpop is like maybe 1% here. It's not a mainstream thing at all. Kpop fans love to hype shit up more than what it really is. Starship announced earlier this yr Sistar and Boyfriend had plans for China this year. They've been there before with fan meetings and such and the Chinese fans helped everyone else with getting Boyfriend their first award. I think they could have a decent shot at China. Definitely not EXO's level but similar to what everyone else is getting now. I just have very good feelings about this comeback and I think it's going to be the comeback everyone will remember as what made Boyfriend...Does that make sense? Usually I have to keep waiting to see who's doing what and match it with the hair color but they both look like they are rocking the same color this era and it's so confusing lol youngmin his adams apple sticks out a bit more and kwangmin has more puffiness in his cheeks usually although they're gone at the moment from being so skinny lately heh. I do agree to me at least Youngmin does kind of have a softer look but I still can't tell right away but I'm sure I'll get it the more stuff I watch haha. I can't wait for the comeback tonight!! Also I hope that summer comeback is true! I'm just so glad Starship is keeping the themes. It will help them keep people interested and having consistent interesting concepts worked for groups like Vixx so hopefully Boyfriend will gain more momentum. It also helps too with their personalities. I've noticed Youngmin is more of a corn ball while Kwangmin can be an ass (not in that really mean way but the sarcastic way). I agree about "Bounce." I was really in love with 'Witch' so I think that's why I'm a bit disappointed. I love that the song is catchy and everything because it makes it more radio friendly and with people remembering it. I've noticed for a bit now they seem to do a back and forth. This song reminds me of "Obsession" and then they had "Witch" which was more sexy. Watch the summer comeback they'll have a sexy song. I'm definitely thinking they're going to stick to the fairy tale stuff. Although, I agree with the stage performance they didn't address the Wonderland stuff in any sort of way. I'm like, wait, isn't this supposed to be Alice in Wonderland? Where is that? The mv looks amazing and the story line there. But the stage isn't like how they did with "Witch" and incorporated the fairy tale with it. I definitely think though this comeback will help Boyfriend a lot since they're having a lot more with promotions. I wouldn't be surprised with a summer comeback because they last time had "Obsession" and then a while later had "Witch" in the fall. Oh and with "Bounce" did Hyunseung not sing at all? I'm happy though we're getting more from Kwangmin and Minwoo. But we didn't see Youngmin or Hyunseung at all with this. And JungMin and Donghyun seemed to have less parts too. On edit yeah I watched it again and Hyunseung and Youngmin did sing. It just seems like they had less parts heh. Bounce what i can say is not like "Witch" ... later was more on the sultry part ... i am still waiting for the proper release because only then we can judge about the song ... as for the outfits i think after the MV release they will change the wardrobe (hoping) So its clear Starship are not gonna do summer concept with Sistar ............................ Hmm I hope that might be right and they're just doing this stage now while waiting for the mv. The song is definitely growing on me though that's for sure. Any idea when in summer they're having it? "Obsession" and "Witch" had a couple of months in between them. Oh and I love the stage outfits they always have. Even outfits like this are really beautiful. But so far majority have said that the song is good ... maybe many including myself were comparing it to "Witch" The song will grow .. all have different perspectives towards the songs ... also mainly many were expecting the stage to be concept themed so they never expected it be changed... i think it would be around may or june if they are looking for summer comeback Yeah. I think after 'Witch' it's an understandable expectation. Maybe it's like someone else said and we'll see more of a theme after the mv and they don't want to spoil the mv. But yeah I started out not really liking "Obsession" very much either but now it's a song I really like heh heh. It's very catchy and radio friendly and that's very good for them. It's still more manly like they've been wanting lol but yeah it's definitely more "cutesy" sorta than sexy. I'm definitely thinking next comeback will be sexy. For a while now, since around "Obsession", they've been talking so much about being manly and all that. I remember during "Witch" Donghyun talking about how everyone now are adults and they want to show their manly charms. So, if it's cute it would be a shock lol. It's really bright and colorful but at the same time it's not TOO distracting to where you aren't paying attention to it more than the guys. I think it makes it better with the whole concept and not in the track suits (although they were quite pretty too). I think I'm the only one liking the twins' hair lol. I'm not really sure yet about the word shaving stuff but the colors are a perfect fit though. I like it better than just the plain red which is kinda boring. Yet, their hair goes along with the insanity that is "Alice in Wonderland" lol. And I too like how they're show casing other songs off the album. I don't think acts really do that. Generally, they'll have that at the concert and for promo's do one or two songs. So, that's something unique I think. I could be wrong though. The vocal line sounds amazing. Which song did Jungmin write? I think it was told but I can't remember lol. I agree too they should hype that up more. It always is impressive when idols write songs and can bring publicity and curiosity. Oh and can't wait for "Real Man" Sunday. Are the twins the youngest to join the cast? But lost memory ia a nice song too. Now that u mentioned it, the jo twins seems to be the youngest to join, i don't remember any of the previous casts entering so young, maybe Mir was the youngest-he's a 91liner- Yeah, I think it's been talked about before that JungMin and Donghyun write together? So, I'm not surprised he helped here. I'm glad he keeps talking about it. He should be very proud. I like pretty much all of Boyfriend's songs. Only one I never really got into was their title track lol. Yeah, Mir I think was the youngest before. Everyone else seems to be older. I just remember it being told somewhere that they were the youngest age to join. I think you can join at 18 but they're 21 this year so yeah. But for the cast purposes they're the youngest I believe.
