So because some salty ass acc said Seolhyun was awkward in the movie, I read like 20 reviews from different sites. The movie received mixed opinions coz ppl compare it to the original novel a lot. Some like it and some don't. Apparently some viewers find it difficult to understand without watching the original novel.

 

BUT

 

All the reviews are praising Seolhyun. The worst I've seen was like "she didn't have that many screentime so I don't rlly know". For all other reviews I've read so far they are all praises of how she's improved a lot, her acting is natural and how she is good enough to be called an actress. Apparently many are surprised by her outstanding performance.

 

Yet we know knetz will still bash her no matter how she performed. For now majority of the opinions is positive I hope knetz would finally see the light and acknowledge her.

 

I'm happy she did well!! I was planning on watching the movie (even though it's not my kind of thing) just to see her.

I hate to see how people tear at her and try to bring her down just because of jealousy, and I know it's jealousy because of how vehemently they drag her! It's either jealousy because of her looks or because of her popularity. Like, just stop. I'm not being delulu here. I mean, it's one thing to be indifferent about a person. It's another to actually HATE them...  

 

And, lol, I think it's funny that Orange Marmalade is considered a failure since that was what convinced me to stan/made me fall in love with Seolhyun. I watched the whole show, enjoyed it, and didn't know people hated it so much until this year.

Seolhyun is honestly PERFECT for the Korean modeling image. She's just so honestly pretty. She fits the girl next door image to a T. She's tall for (especially for a Korean) a woman, and her proportions are exceptional.

 

She has a LONG career ahead of her.

Oh I totally agree with that. First she should take a supporting role (2nd female lead while the main are experienced actors) and she should choose her next role really carefully. That's why I kinda hope she could get lucky and score a 2nd lead role in a very successful drama. Things like these are hard to predict but the easiest would be to look at the drama director and the scriptwriter. Just looking at these two should tell you if the drama is worth trying tbh. There are well known directors and scriptwriters who are really talented at what they do and came up with lots of quality dramas (with many of them being really successful). That's how you can choose a good drama.

 

Movies are good because she can really develop her acting and extent her range of emotions. But the recognition you gain from them is rather small compared to dramas (unless it's a huge hit like train to Busan or Taxi driver). A successful drama will give her more exposure, more CF deals and her public recognition would shoot up cuz everyone watches dramas while the movie industry is kind of a niche hard to break into, especially for idols. I would like for her to keep shooting movies and gain more experience (therefore improving her acting) but I really wish she would get into a successful drama, this would really turn her life around if she gets really good reviews and she would get even more movie offers because of her newfound popularity in that field. This worked really well for Nana for example.

 

I mean, but Train to Busan also had Gong Yoo who gained a lot of his fame from dramas.

 

He followed Train to Busan up with Goblin which we all know was a run away smash hit.

Well Jimin had a vlive and she talked about the members activities...Seolhyun is still busy filming Ansi City and that might be the reason why we haven't heard a lot from her lately (except her IG live broadcasts). She also said AOA will cmb next year ^^
