I love how sharp her eyes are and how her cheeks look like mochi. I live the way her eyebrows dip deep and her voice dips deeper. rly though i love her hair like that. seeing gifs from her web drama with it like that is what made me look up her + oh my girl in the first place. a+ styling, tbh, she always looks precious, but when they do her hair well she's a goddess

Yeah, same but tbh I'm more concerned with her winning again. I fear even if she delivers a really good performance there will be backlash   I hope she still scores high, but imo the most important thing with her performance today is gonna be grabbing peoples hearts. "Goose" is such a beloved song the standards are high, but she can truly relate and put herself behind the songs message so I think she'll impress

i was reading someone else's comment that mentioned how she seems to be going more for popularity > skill (i guess they meant that her song choices gave off the feeling of being noticed more for singing the song rather than her ability) but tbh i don't think it's a bad idea?

 

there are two ways for this to go= seunghee loses but fans of different fandoms come into the fandom through her partial covers or seunghee wins and people are astonished as to how she did that + people come into the fandom.

 

i think there is a large chance she'll lose and tbh im 100% okay with that as she's done so well so far, by i think throughout the show she's been thinking about how to promote oh my girl to certain stanbases, older and younger

I see what you mean, I personally enjoyed the perf., but from what you said, I think that the arrangement for a duo, doesn't put her on the spotlight & Sandeul took "a lot of place" with his incredible vocal. I think it's maybe that, that you feel.

 

I'm not a professional in vocal, but I listen a lot of music, and I find that she really did a great job, even their harmonization was good, but maybe that Sandeul was a little too high.

 

 

I personally think that she was sick, but that at the begining, the plan was that she went to Sapporo with the others, and when they went to Tokyo Sunday, she went back to Seoul. But seen she was probably not in good condition, they certainly said that was better for her to rest for the recording. But yeah, they kinda lie a little seen they said she was not there, for health issue till the 20 ^^' 

But at the same time it wasn't an official statement so I don't know xd

 

 

About the song choice, I'm really excited, but at the same time like some of you, I'm scared that she want to make too much. Well It's not that the song don't match together, but the instru are really differnt for some, so the arrangement need to be really good.

 

I'm still 100% with Seunghee, she never disappointed me, since the begining of the show, she's been here always to surprise me even with the "Cheer Up" perf.  

 

I can't be other than excited, when she choose the king of the pop MJ & F(x) + Red Velvet. Always dream that OMG do RPP cover, and Seunghee gonna do it 

 

 

omg me too! i always felt that omg would do well with a RPP type concept so im excited on that front

 

 

I think she just likes pop muisc, tbh. Everyone has done big popular hits that will get clicks for people being curious about what the cover sounds like. I think some people are miff'ed she's doing 8 songs so they're saying she's just grabbing any popular song to get votes. 

 

But her medley is as much of a risk as it could be her ace. Esp that second list, each song is a different genre so how well they'll blend together will have to be seen.

proud of seunghee. no matter how some thought the show was skewed in her favor, i think she, as well as the other contestants, worked damn hard for their scores.

 

all that's left is the final stage. im wary of of she wins yet im still rooting for her.

i dont know if it was just my earphones but her high notes came off screechy during Happiness. i think her voice is kind of too thin for songs like that

 

otherwise she did great i especially love how she sounded for RR! and she looked so hot in that choker too ;-;

After watching the final eng sub episode I really felt for Seunghee. She seemed so humble with the win and immediately began thanking her group for letting her join Oh My Girl. (1) I sometimes feel her determination to win makes her look a little cocky but this episode really changed my mind.

 

I can only imagine how difficult it was for her after being accepted into WM so close to the groups debut. (2) She must've felt she was the spare wheel that was going to hinder the group. Seeing this makes me appreciate OMG even more for their caring and support to Seunghee.

 

When she expressed that OMG got 2 advertising deals at the beginning I was very happy to see her face as (3) she was very excited showing me how much the group has progressed in commercial space in the last few months.

 

Seunghee may not be on dance line in OMG but (4) I can really tell she has been practicing and improving which came though during her Michael Jackson medley.

 

(5) The song choices for the second medley was I believe specific created to be SNS friendly so people can paste whichever part they like which in turn gives Oh My Girl exposure. Thank you Seunghee for working hard to better showcase OMG.

 

Overall I very happy for Seunghee in Girl Spirit. Second place could've gone to anyone since every performance was so good as all gave it there all. (6) Out of the 5 girls in the final Seunghee didn't have the most powerful voice or highest note or unique tone but she had ingenuity and perseverance which gave her 2nd place.

 

BTW I loved how she was called Thor Seunghee!

 

ahh i have so much to respond to this

 

(1) you arent the only one! i was lurking some other threads and was surprised to see that people felt seunghee was cocky and her attitude off-putting. but the girl just has a strong need and belief in herself to win and it shows.

 

(2) wow i never even thought of that. poor seunghee. im always so used to seeing her bright self, but being that she's also quite open and emotional, you can tell that she does have some insecurities. she powers past them though and i am always so so proud of her.

 

(3) !!! she's literally the sweetest bean.

 

(4) this!! i was very shocked to see how smooth her dance moves were during the MJ stage, i didnt know she had it in her. girl is literally a powerhouse.

 

(5) you hit the nail on the head. i saw some gripes about her choosing friendly songs, and though @Indigo pointed out earlier that seunghee is just a pop-lover, i think her desire to get omg's name out there also played a part in her song choice. and it worked. a lot of revel fans loved her russian roulette cover, and coupled with the fact that seulgi has been caught singing WD, im sure a few stans were converted by this perf. the micheal jackson perf was also a good choice as it broadens the audience to being worldwide. 

 

seunghee literally always has oh my girl in her heart, that's why her performances are  so strong.

 

(6) yep. she's called talented seunghee for a reason -- she has a spark. she may not be great in everything but she's damn good at selling herself. i doubted her when she first joined GS afraid that her voice would crack and those insecurities would creep up on her, but clearly i underestimated her.

There's totally a strategy song choice. Singing GG songs is def not a bad strategy for pulling in fans for OMG

 

But everyone on the show was being strategic with song choice if they were smart. Seunghee didn't even have the most hits in her song choices lol everyone was singing a mix of very popular pop hits, classics, karaoke favs. 

 

The main reason ifans got tiffed is, most of them don't realize there's popular songs outside of kpop. So when they see Seunghee do a number of kpop songs, they think "oh wow look how shameless, keeping all the popular songs for herself!" when they don't realize a bunch of the other songs people sang while not high in youtube views or international recondition, resonate much deeper with the average listener. The recent pop songs are drops in the buckets compared to songs from peoples childhoods or songs with sentimental meaning. The audience responded to her obvious creativity invested in making them her own, not just her song choice.

well put. i wish i had thought to say these things when those people were talking, but alas, i'll let bygones be bygones.

 

on another note, what do you guys think of seunghee's voice? im guessing that because we're all here we enjoy it to some extent, but what exactly about it? for me i like how delicate + emotional she can go at times (ie: closer's "can you hear my cry) but i think that's also her downfall bc at times it sounds like her voice is near cracking.
