Company privilege:

is when some groups get to perform 1 full song and a snippet of another or 2 full songs and half of another on their comeback stages while rookie group songs are cut down to accommodate those from other bigger/more influential companies.

And before anyone says but Sistar performs several songs at comeback-i know- and it still applies to them too.

no shit

'unpopular kpop opinion'

:imstupid:  :imstupid:  :imstupid:  :imstupid:

True.

Everyone knows this tho. There are groups that get fanbases even before debut just because they're from a big complany.

Was reading comprehension always a struggle for you guys? (ᴗ˳ᴗ)

I didn't say "COMPANY PRIVILEGE IS REAAAAAL!!"

I would agree with this statement if Red Velvet's comeback hadn't blown me away with how beautiful, thoughtful, and well-executed their concepts, songs, and music videos were. They deserved to win fair and square, and their sales proved their growing popularity. If it was only due to SM's power, why didn't they win during their debut and why did Be Natural flop on the charts?

I concede that Mamamoo probably has better vocal abilities and stage presence, but their songs just aren't there yet (for me, at least). I always check out their material and I can definitely see why they have so many fans, but they're just not my cup of tea currently.

Well she's right, she's butthurt and bitter.

So if RV won before Mamamoo then it's a company privilege? lol what is logic.

Being in Big 3 companies does help with the promotions but to say they won just because they're from Big 3 is unfair.

Red Velvet's Ice Cream Cake charted higher digitally and physically even k-fans who are usually negative about rookies agreed they deserved all the music show wins.

Company privilege is pretty sad tbh

You have to have a huge amount of luck to succeed if you arent from a Big(2)3 company, and even then your fanbase probably cant hold a candle to theirs.

Its frustrating, but lifes not fair

Pretty much this, it's just that the fans make it worse since they annoyingly deny that:

company privilege = music show wins, end of year awards, CFs and better variety appearances  :>_>:

If it's about RV then, I believe they won fairly though. It was SM's good strategy that they'll release their first album after several months from their debut. Many rookie groups would tend to release albums during their debut, but since SM realized how the public would hate the girls for their so called "company privilege", they made them promote twice to show everyone that success isn't done overnight and they'll earn fans along the way. Their recent title song is good too and the public loves it.

As for Mamamoo, they have great vocals but their songs are too generic? I don't know. I love their OST songs, but their title songs are not that catchy to me.
