This analysis is gold and beyond sick by k-fans via cecilia in Soompi forum, join there too guys~

That Hyun has two personalities, that Min is never exist

Prepare your brain first~

1.  Explanation on how Hyun figured out the code to work out the next crime scene

http://gall.dcinside.com/board/view/?id=rememberyou&no=679&page=6&exception_mode=recommend

Hyun receives an email from who_is_next@ with info about the Banbae dong case

He sees the painting on the wall from the photos, recognises the resemblance to the drawings in his memory and inteprets that as an invitation

19175904106_5dad2a4518_k.jpg

As it was explained in ep 2, the sequence are derived from the flag semaphore system.

When he arrives at the airport, the peace sign (which originally came from the flag semaphore system) off someone's shirt helped him to crack the code.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_semaphore

19205672211_990d8bdcf2_z.jpg

He took out his phone to look at the sequence and worked out a series of coordinates. You can try to crack it yourself but using the code. The way the criminal made up the combination was to draw an asterisk looking symbol for each number or letter to represent the arms but he left the positions where the arms were supposed to be, empty, and drew a stroke to fill up the remaining positions (sorry dont konw how to explain in proper english)

(this explains it in detail but is in korean http://gall.dcinside.com/board/view/?id=rememberyou&no=1138&page=4&exception_mode=recommend)

19175902296_38bc3720fe_z.jpg

That's how he comes up with the location which the criminal left as a notice of his next crime scene. That is why he shows up without being told the location and also the reason why he mentions how the suspect must have or know someone around him with a yacht.

2. Observations and analysis of Min and Hyun's paintings

http://gall.dcinside.com/board/view/?id=rememberyou&no=1186&page=4&exception_mode=recommend

A. Use of symmetry/mirror images in Hyun and Min's paintings

19202389345_8c64427ffe_z.jpg

Note the symmetry in the asterisks on the left and right pages

19016242219_23620bb0b4_z.jpg

the position of the crosses

19176265656_6047db543e_z.jpg

the asterisks in the background

18579874914_7b647485e2_z.jpg

symmetry in the background colours

19176265016_a96b7f9b64_z.jpg

symmetry in the yellow circles in the background

Most importantly, Min's signature on his drawings (the eye) also uses symmetry. There seems to be significance in the use of mirror imaging/symmetry as a form of symbolism in this drama

(sidetrack a bit here, someone else pointed out this particular scene http://gall.dcinside.com/board/view/?id=rememberyou&no=1360&page=3&exception_mode=recommend

19196666892_1366c573b0_z.jpg

The camera shows them in a mirror image, look at his name plate on his desk and also the flag in the background. The person who posted this thinks there is a link between mirror images and hidden truth/deceit or something with negative connotations.)

B. 6919 / H961 / 9616

These numbers are seen on the clothing of the kids in the drawings.

19206029761_e36ede2703_z.jpg

What's this all meant to mean? (scroll down for another person's analysis)

The person who posted this thinks there is something about the numbers 9 and 6 which look the same which turned upside down/flipped around (think mirror image)

19206029561_17eb8ba341_z.jpg

H and M - H for hyun and M for Min?

19014819508_bd40e08f63_z.jpg

This H to indicate this is hyun?

C. Colour of Hyun and Min's clothes, mask

18581799873_87b7d6e477_z.jpg

here, Min is wearing yellow and hyun is wearing a bluish shirt.

19202385695_603a2f19b9_z.jpg

yellow clothes represent Min?

19176265016_a96b7f9b64_z.jpg

and blue represents hyun?

To explain these paintings, the majority of korean netizens on dc are mostly agreeing that hyun has a split personality (more explanation about this below) and these drawings make alot more sense if you agree with this view. In the above picture, hyun (blue shirt) wears a yellow mask (Min) with the dead bird in his hand. This perhaps suggests that personality of Min (although he is really hyun physically) killed the bird.

19206029761_e36ede2703_z.jpg

here, Min and Hyun have been separated and Hyun is crying and unhappy but Min is happy and free. (Represented in ep 2, when Hyun is locked away underground while Min is outside playing. Represents the forced separation of the 2 personalities by Hyun's dad)

Lastly, the fact that many of the drawings have 2 heads and 1 body suggest that min and hyun are one physical person with 2 personalities

19016240109_5d6b57b0f8_z.jpg

3. Explanation of why Hyun has split personality disorder, analysis of what happened between Lee Joon Young, Lee Joong Min, Hyun http://blog.naver.com/dogoora/220400624043

A. As mentioned above, many drawings (including the one that Hyun saw in the photos of the Banbae dong case) feature a figure/person with one body and 2 heads

B. Year 1996 -  the year when it all happened (Hyun's dad being killed, Hyun meeting Lee Joon Young, the 'critical' period of time

19197187602_fee015633b_z.jpg

The numbers on the picture above says 9619, but if Hyun is on the right and Min is on the left, you can split the numbers as 19 and 96. If you rewrite them in order (older brother first and younger brother 2nd), then you can rewrite it as 1996. As mentioned before 9 and 6 look the same when you flip them upside down, back to front etc. Can be seen as symbolism for split personality, min and hyun are different but the same person.

C. Besides Hyun and Hyun's dad, noone seems to have come in contact or even mentioned Min's existence

- Why would Hyun have acquired a split personality?

There are 2 possible explanations. The first is that when Hyun's mother died, Hyun had undergone psychological treatment due to the shock. If she had been pregnant then, it's possible that Hyun made up this personality of Min as a result. The 2nd explanation (and the one that seems to be accepted by many korean fans) is that this came as a result of pressure from Hyun's dad. After Hyun's mother died, Hyun's dad was all he had in the world. But Hyun was born a genius and his intellect was not only not appreciated by his dad, but his dad kept telling him how he wished Hyun was 'normal'. So an internal conflict arose within Hyun, he wants to be the kid that dad wants him to be, but at the same thing, how can he suppress himself being a genius? The result was that Hyun created the personality of Min, a seemingly normal and innocent child. The day that Hyun's dad died, Min 'disappeared', is this a coincidence? Or does it suggest that the personality of Min no longer needed to exist (or as this netizen proposes in another post, that Min and Hyun finally were able to become one and not be separated) after the death of dad?

When dad died, Hyun did not seem sad but rather smiled, because he was finally free.

- Did Lee Joong Min (Hyun's dad) know of Hyun's split personality disorder?

It seems that he did know. When he went to consult the psychologist and the psychologist tried to reassure him that it was all ok, Lee Joong Min said to the psychologist, 'There's something you don't know."

To take this even further, this blogger thinks that this was the secret that Hyun shared with Lee Joon Young.

LJY had shared with Hyun that you cannot feel his pulse on one side of his neck. You can categorise this as a medical secret. So there's a possibility that Hyun told LJY about the existence of Min.

- What is the bigger secret that LJY and Hyun shared with each other?

(Alot of this is guesswork but it's interesting to read this theory nevertheless)

This blogger thinks that this bigger secret is about their own fathers. When Lee Joong min visited LJY, we find out that LJY had talked about his mother, his uncle and his grandfather. The person that was missing from all this was his father. You would think that if he talked about his mother, he would talk about his father as well. His father should be a closer relation than his uncle or his grandfather, but he doesnt talk about him. Also from LJY's stories, they all involved some sort of abuse. So the guess here is that it was actually LJY's father who abused him and in the end, LJY killed his father.

Following from that, Hyun's secret could also be about his father. Although it's hard to guess what it could be but guess would be that Hyun wants his father to disappear or he wants to kill him (dont know if this is taking it too far). It might seem a bit far fetched that Hyun might have such thoughts, but in a way, Hyun is also being abused by his father in a mental sense. He keeps telling Hyun to be someone he isnt, to the point where Hyun has acquired another personality. (Later Lee Joong Min takes this even further as he becomes convinced taht Hyun is a monster by locking him up)

- What is the promise that Hyun made with LJY?

If the above is right, then the promise between Hyun and LJY could go something like this. LJY asks Hyun whether his dad trusts him? Although Hyun might waver a bit, he would have said yes. LJY then could have said, Let's make a promise, if your dad doesnt trust you, then I'll come and get you out of there.

When LJY realises that Hyun has not totally fallen to his probing, he decides to work on Lee Joong Min instead. He can see that Lee Joong Min is already suspicious of Hyun, and he reinforces those suspicions by saying that what he's thinking is right, that Hyun is just like him. Lee Joong Min finally crumbles and becomes convinced that Hyun is indeed a monster. As a result, he sets up the underground room and locks Hyun away from the outsdie world. LJY predicts that Lee Joong Min will come to believe that Hyun is a monster, and that's why he says to him, I'm going to get out of here soon to see your son.

- Is Hyun really a monster?

For Lee Joong Min, the not so normal Hyun acts and thinks in ways different to normal people and therefore believes in the end, that he is a monster. But one crucial line he says tells us who the real monster is. When Hyun sees all the photos (incl LJY), Hyun comments that all those people look normal. But Lee Joong Min says, "Evil is hidden amongst the ordinary." In other words, Min might seem normal, but he is the personality that encompasses evil.

4. The making of a monster http://blog.naver.com/dogoora/220401736506

I wont translate this since I personally believe there are flaws with this theory but the blogger says that Hyun was not a monster, but when Lee Joong Min started believing Hyun was a monster, taht's when he became one (re: LJY's words about how some people are not born monsters but get called monsters and so they become monsters). When Hyun was locked in the underground room, he was separated with his personality Min, the personality with the psychopath qualities ie. Hyun's dad is stopping Hyun from combining with his monster side. When Lee Joong Min is fighting with LJY, Min sees and climbs out the window, seemingly escaping from the house. But it's pointed out that the shoes Min puts on are not shoes for the outside, but shoes for indoor use which might indicate that MIn is not running away but running back inside to meet with Hyun. So when dad dies, Min doesnt disappear but is reunited and finally allowed to be one being (as opposed to split personality). So that's why the 2nd ep is called Hello, monster. LJY went to the house to help make Hyun into a monster.

5. Min/Hyun's drawings of real serial killers http://gall.dcinside.com/board/view/?id=rememberyou&no=1519&page=2&exception_mode=recommend

This post freaks me out. All the drawings of the people in this are real serial killers. You match the drawing with the initals underneath

Six Reasons EXO's D.O. Is Korea's Rising Acting Idol

D.O. (Do Kyung Soo) of EXO is swiftly becoming one of the most sought after acting idols in Korean entertainment. While many K-pop stars attempt to effectively break into the market, few succeed at demonstrating the ability to capture the attention of audiences beyond their existing fan base.

D.O. continues to generate buzz with his on-screen performances, even when he is placed against a cast of seasoned actors. His recently provided a noteworthy cameo in the KBS2 drama "I Remember You," as Jun Young, a coldblooded sociopath. While it was only a two-episode stint, his headline-worthy appearance continues to be one of the most talked about K-Drama moments of June 2015.

His next highly anticipated project is "Pure Love," a romantic drama which teen actress Kim So Hyun. "Pure Love" will focus on the trajectory of the lead couple's relationship, as told through a series of letters that are read on a radio station. While D.O. has yet to portray a leading man, the role could potentially elevate him beyond cameos and supporting characters.

Here are six reasons D.O. is Korea's rising acting idol.

1. D.O. was selected by entertainment insiders as the number one actor among idols. On a March 2015 episode of "Entertainment Weekly," D.O. received the news that he was named as the top actor out of 40 idols in 2014.

2. He debuted as an actor in "Cart," a film which provided social commentary on unfair working conditions.

Rather than selecting a romantic comedy, his first acting role was in a film which advocated for fair treatment of workers and the development of unions.

3. His portrayal of Han Kang Woo in "It's Okay, That's Love" was compelling and equally matched the performance delivered by Jo In Sung.

4. While he exceeds expectations in melodramatic roles, he served as comic relief in "EXO Next Door."

D.O. demonstrated excellent comedic timing in "EXO Next Door." The strength of his acting was one of the primary reasons to watch the web series.

5. He is filming his second movie role within a year of his acting debut.

6. D.O. has an expressive face that few young actors have. This allows for convincing portrayals of a wide range of roles.

I just got into this drama and have watched all three episodes. The theories are so interesting. I can't wait to see what ep 4 brings to the story.

Glad you found this show :ahmagah:  What do you think about those theories, who's the real monster? From the new still seems there's shirtless Hyun and behind him is someone with white shirt, wonder who's that, we'll find out tonight~

And welcome to the thread :ahmagah:

I'm a fan of SIG but I needed a breather after School 2015 so I waited a week. I don't know to be honest, when I think I grasp the story something new is thrown my way and makes my brain work all over again. It's hard to tell when there's so much of the story left to be told. But I like the theory of Hyun having a personality disorder, the writers seems to want us to believe that the lawyer is Min tho but I'm not sure.

Thanks ^^

Are you still sad with School 2015 ending? About Remember You writer, looks like this is the first time she wrote a mystery drama, she's into comedy from previous project, maybe that's why there's Jang Nara here, to keep the comedy in mystery one. Another plot twist, she won't make it as complex as we thought and turn out a normal happy ending in the end, lmao. I hope not tho

Btw, congratulations for Lee Jong Suk news, though the agency deny, he has a pretty and good actress as a friend  :ahmagah:

LOL haha I laugh my ass off when Lee Hyun sent the killer to China and he is arrested for drug dealer, TAKE THAT BITCH, the lawyer is very very suspicious, no lawyer can delete evidences, at least not if he is clean, maybe he is "his master" like Lee Hyun though, I don't know if the lawyer is Min but the pictures in crime scenes were a clear bait to Lee Hyun.

Unexpected outcome indeed, Hyun is too calm that make it more suspicious what will he do to that CEO. lel. If that lawyer is the master behind that serial killer his part is too weak for me. Or maybe there's the real master behind the lawyer, Lee Junyeong? But yeah pretty sure the lawyer is the one who put that twins drawing, purple flower, and coordinate code, based on the scene in leader office the lawyer immediately recognized that morse.

2. [+165, -8] The plot and acting are awesome. One of those dramas that you need to concentrate on.  The female lead is frustrating at this point so Seo In Gook needs to work twice as hard

Female character always gets this kind of role and it annoys the hell of me.

Just finish watching Ep3 and now I more curious to know what happens in ep4.

There are sooo many questions now

1. How did Hyun know That Chaebol was a drug dealer?

2. What is that Chaebol's lawyer role? Is he min?

3. What are those pills that the victim gave to the lawyer?

Arggghhh!!

Pretty much it's You're All Surrounded part 2! :ahmagah:  Jang Nara and Go Ara have almost similar character and face /me delulu

Yes, Hyun character is more interesting than Ji An... until the time maybe when we found out Ji An is that policeman's daughter who always appear in Junyeong cell, and got killed by him after ambulance scene /more delulu

  1. From forensic guy he said there're drugs in victims blood system, maybe Hyun read it from Ji An report, then take a risk asking help to Chinese police. Not his concern tho because he used Ji An name... is that too weak?
  2. Maybe yes, he's Min.
  3. Drugs, the lawyer said to that woman that she's commit crime too right. Using that drugs is a crime too...

The biggest question is "Is Hyun schizophrenic?". He was having lunch with his father and his younger brother. I have a unsettling feeling that there will be a mind blowing twist. If there won't be any then I would be hella disappointed.

THAT SCENE MAKE ME CRY warstarplz.png Poor Hyun :rlytearpls:

Seo In-guk Shows off His Body in ‘I Remember You’

Seo In-guk was spotted with his top off in drama ‘I Remember You’.

KBS 2TV’s Monday-Tuesday television drama ‘I Remember You’ revealed a new still of genius profiler Lee Hyun who bared his upper body. His wide shoulders and gorgeously tanned skin were sexy enough to catch the eyes of the viewers.

Meanwhile, behind Lee Hyun, you can see a man in a white shirt, standing with his back to Lee. There is no information about the unknown man yet, and it is therefore heightening expectations for the man and the reason he is with Lee Hyun.

Previously in the third episode, Lee Hyun showed off his brilliant brain. While he arrested Yang Seung-hoon (played by Tae In-ho) after catching him in the very act of murdering two people in Bangbae-dong and Dohwa-dong, Lee Hyun had difficulty having him confess his crimes. But then, he transformed into a clumsy novice investigator and started stirring Yang Seung-hoon’s emotion, which almost made Yang admit his murder cases. However, he was stopped by his attorney Jung Seon-ho (played by Park Bo-gum) who entered the room at the very moment.

As a result, the second-generation chaebol was acquitted and left for China. Since Yang Seung-hoon committed a number of crimes and still managed to wriggle himself out of the hands of the law, his fleeing made Cha Ji-an (played by Jang Nara) and her teammates discouraged. However, that was not the end. Lee Hyun sent an official document asking for cooperation in the investigation, and Yang Seung-hoon was arrested on the plane for possessing and trading narcotics, which gave great pleasure to the viewers.

Stay tuned to watch more of Lee Hyun’s performance and adventure! ‘I Remember You’ airs every Monday and Tuesday at 22:00 on KBS 2TV.

The part where Jangnara says she likes EXO now. I died there!

Just finished watching EP4. I am more confused than I ever was. It's giving me a headache now.

1. Who is that guy who killed Officer Yang?

2. Is that guy Min or is the lawyer min or are they the same individual?

3. What did Officer Yang want to tell Hyun?

4. How did the Killer intercept before Officer Yang could tell anything to Hyun?

5. Is Min an individual or an imaginary person Hyun created?

6. Why did Little Hyun say he killed his dad?

I have some 10 more of irrelevant questions. This drama is hurting my little brain.

Edit: I was just checking the poster released for this drama. And forensic pathologist?-LeeJoonho must have important role to be in a main poster. But so far right now, his role is pretty much like supporting role or filler character. I have a feeling he is the really Lee Joon Young. He just changed his Lee Joon Young to Lee Joon Ho. And the fact that he is Lee Hyun's neighbour raises more suspicion. I think he took that neighbouring place to look/stalk over Lee Hyun.

What if Lee Hyun was the born monster and if Min was made into a monster?? I am curious if this will be the plot.

Sasaeng fan she said :hurr:

  1. Same guy who killed a man and hid it behind the wall in unused building... new killer it seems, from preview seemed like he tried to kill again.
  2. We still don't know yet, but I still think so, he's Min
  3. About Junyoung and give him his analysis/hypothesis in that journal, I think forensic ahjussi took that journal when cleaning the room with his team, his face when investigation team watching that black box.
  4. I think it's just coincidence, the killer have no associate with Hyun at all.
  5. Idk :derp:  let's wait Cecilia translation from DC~
  6. Maybe it's because of his promise with Junyoung, maybe he told Junyoung about his secret that his Dad thought that he's a monster, and Junyoung gave him a promise to make his Dad won't call him a monster again... Then when JY came and maybe kill (still won't believe JY is the real killer of the dad) Dad, Hyun felt that it's because of him

Let's do overanalysis :ahmagah:

Yes! In that tape, Junyoung said,"By the listening this, I'll go and keep our promise. I'll probably by your side." => as his neighbor,  that tea scene :la:

That could be, but then it's Hyun who just normal genius kid then his father was the one who called him monster and locked him in the basement... :derp:

Just went to Soompi forum to check what people are discussing about. The drama part of the forum seem to be more active than here.

I have to say it is quite interesting to read all their hypothesis while some of them may sound absurd but quite plausible at the same time.

Preview for next episode.

uhkrSjS.png

Looks like they will show more flashback from the past considering it is Kyungsoo's back in the preview. Looking at the preview, there is more evident clue that Lee JoonHo must be LJY(D.O).

Soompi forum is full of dramalovers, Onehallyu is full of KPop lovers

Thank you :ahmagah:

It might be Lee Junyoung (Kyungsoo ver) or the killer of police officer (guy with hoodie), both of them wore black~ :har:

I'm still watching ep 4 too see the photos int the house of the doctor was thinking is Min wasn't adopt by the doctor?

Yes, the kid in his house isn't Min. And welcome to the thread :ahmagah:

I'm loving the drama and the plot A LOT but... why does the female lead have to be such an idiot? She's supposed to be a cop but she acts like she does not know what she's doing 90% of the time, WHY WRITERS? I'm hoping that her character develops somehow or that she's not as idiotic as she makes it look like (plot twist, dark past maybe?)

All of investigation team seem like idiot because of Hyun  But they aren't idiot for sure :derp:  Which part you thought she looks like that? But yeah, pretty sure she have dark past, she tried to hid her family photo which just with her father tho maybe Hyun already saw it. Where's her father? Where's her mother? Who's the girl who always in her house?

Lol Cha Ji An being EXO fan, can these writers be more trolls?

Maybe I'm the only one but I really like the team leader, he is so funny and a really good person at the same time.

The doctor wants to be friend with Lee Hyun, and the scene in his house was weird, both men seemed to be very confortable with each other, and in the preview the doctor invites Lee Hyun to eat when he is acquitted. I wonder what their realationship will be.

i don't understand why Lee Hyun didn't stay at the crime scene, he could prove that he was no the killer, the scene showed clear signs of fight and like Hyun said the detective didn't defend himself so it's obvious another person was there..

Media playing ofc  :har:  they still put Kyungsoo or his photo and voice every episodes, sadly can't push the rating~

He is so hilarious when shouted 'ABUJI!' I lost control~  Plot twist he's Lee Junyoung :har:

Tea scene, between doctor-Hyun and Junyoung-Dad, what if...

Hyun is the one who last seems there, the last person that the victim called, and his voice in 119 record, he's must being arrested right there as murder suspect (he can be the one who trashing the room, right?). If he stay, he can't seek of evidence, find whatever that victim (Officer Yang) want to give him, find the real killer, but in investigation room.

I Remember You: Episode 3

by dramallama | July 1, 2015

IRY03-00200a.jpg

Don’t let this top screencap fool you, the romance isn’t here just yet. Instead, we get some growing tensions, intelligent mystery solving, and new suspects in Hyun’s story. We learn more about how Hyun works and what he expect in exchange for his intelligence. Our resident Sherlock has some unconventional tricks up his sleeve, most leaving us questioning: Is that legal? He may frustrate the life out of Ji-an and the detectives, but he gets the job done. So do you want him to catch the killer or nah?

EPISODE 3: “Thou shall not kill, but…â€

-recap under spoiler-

IRY03-00008.jpg

Ji-an races to our killer’s next target location and desperately pleads for Yoon-ji to pick up the phone. Thankfully she does and gets the message that her special guest with the purple flowers is a murderer. We see the face of the killer, and though Yoo-ji attempts to play it cool, she trembles and charges at the man with her mug. The man pins her up against the wall and seethes about the caller who revealed his identity.

Meanwhile, Hyun listens to the Joon-young recordings and one suddenly stops with scratchy noises. The recording continues with Joon-young addressing him now, wondering what kind of adult Hyung would grow into. He says he’ll be keeping his promise and will most likely be by his side now.

Gun at the ready, Ji-an storms into Ha Yoon-ji’s home and catches the killer. He turns around a casually puts his hands up, not a slightest bit of guilt in his eyes.

As Hyun exits his room, we hear Ji-an’s updates about her catch and the safety of the third target, who survived the attack. Before he leaves, he records himself promising Lee Joon-young to meet again and leaves the recording on the table.

The murderer is Yang Seung-hoon, the youngest son of a chaebol family. He has experience with rowing, which explains his affinity for boats and yachts. He’s also had some experience with the law — breaking it, that is — with his violence and traffic violations. But the law has been particularly lenient with him, and he claims that he’s particularly generous with women, somewhat trying to seduce Ji-an.

Ji-an notes that he’s generous with women, expect with Ha Yoon-ji, who he physically abused. Seung-hoon argues that he had to defend himself when she attacked him first and shrugs that he may have retaliated a little too roughly. Ugh, this piece of trash.

The detective team observe the interview, and Hyun watches as well from behind. He thinks back to Min and concludes that this man can’t be his younger brother. Surprising the detectives from behind, he confirms that Ji-an called in advance to warn Yoon-ji about her imminent death and calls them all idiots under his breath. They saved the target, but they also saved the murderer.

Myung-woo catches his insult and prepares to pounce. Eun-bok holds his sunbae back as Hyun slyly apologizes for the misunderstanding: He was calling himself an idiot, not them. He shouldn’t have overestimated Ji-an’s level of intellect. Chief Hyun calms down the team and approves Hyun’s request to quietly inspect this criminal, since he did help them get this far.

IRY03-00024.jpg

At the hospital, Seung-joo breathes a sigh of relief to find out that Yoon-ji will recover fine and asks when she’ll be ready to testify. By her bedside, we see a man dressed in a doctor’s gown, who gently smiles as Yoon-ji wakes. But her eyes widen with fear.

Seung-joo notices this mysterious man passing by him in the hallway but remains oblivious to his identity. When he talks to Yoon-ji in the hospital room, he’s stunned to find her refusing to testify. She admits that she was the first to attack and claims that she bought the purple flowers herself. Seung-joo suspects that someone convinced her out of testifying, and his detective instincts tell him that the mysterious man in the hall is the one. He runs out to chase him down.

The interrogation seems to be going nowhere, with Seung-hoon shamelessly feigning innocence. He claims he doesn’t remember what he did on the day of the murder, or even what he had for breakfast this morning! Oh, please. Hyun decides it’s time for him to intervene, and he picks up some accessories walking through the office for his role.

With glasses and cups of coffee, Hyun enters the interrogation room and introduces himself as a newbie detective. The detective team behind the glass watch his act, hopeful for some new information.

Playing his role, Hyun asks permission from Ji-an to interrogate our killer, and she gives him a rough pat on the shoulder of approval, ha. Hyun enthusiastically asks Seung-hoon to identify the women he’s killed, which prompts a snicker from our killer.

When Hyun puts down the last picture, our killer leans in to take a closer look and then shakes his head. Hyun eyes Ji-an to notify her that this woman is the one Seung-hoon believes he’s killing over and over.

Upon request, Hyun gathers the pictures and purposefully drops the last picture twice. He tells Seung-hoon that this woman, Kang Ji-sun, seems to have something to say. Seung-hoon gets quick flashbacks to his time with Ji-sun and shows vulnerability about his dating history.

He seems nonchalant about her killer until Hyun shares his hypothesis: Seung-hoon got dumped and then killed the woman. And why did he go to that extent of killing her? His inferiority complex. Oohh, you just hit a nerve.

Hyun continues with his hypothesis, explaining that Seung-hoon’s inferiority complex is fueled by his position in his family. He’s the only one who does business outside of Korea, in China, which means that he’s either particularly excellent or particularly unworthy. Hyun’s guess is the latter because Seung-hoon straggles as the lowest ranked in the family. So what does he need to do? Prove himself.

His sales figures looked subpar so he invested excessively, which put his business in even more trouble. This stress triggered him, made him remember the pleasure and superiority he felt when he killed Ji-sun. He enjoyed the dominance from killing women weaker than him, like the feeling of being head of household. “Inferiority and superiority are intimately related.â€

IRY03-00062.jpg

Seung-hoon slams the table and breaks his cool, yelling at Hyun to stop with the bullshit. But Hyun continues: “A perfect murder. You don’t have those skills, so how could you have done it? Someone helped you. Who? Someone must have guided you to find targets, plan your murder, and get rid of evidence. Who’s the boss behind you?â€

Hyun continues to taunt Seung-hoon and baits him to reveal the real killer. “Who’s behind you? Who manipulated you?†At that, Seung-hood jerks up and throws a literal temper tantrum screaming, “There is no one behind me! Everything, I…â€

Then the door opens, and the mysterious hospital man tells Seung-hoon to stop. The detectives watching the interrogation yell in frustration. Arghh so close!

The presence of the mysterious hospital man, or Laywer JUNG SUN-HO (Park Bo-gum), calms Seung-hoon enough for him to continue on with his lies. Hyun notices Lawyer Jung’s hand and finger tap on his client’s shoulder, and Seung-hoon excuses himself from the interrogation to attend a mental therapy appointment.

Myung reacts with a startled jump to a call from Seung-joo, who delivers the bad news that Ha Yoon-ji refuses to testify or press charges. They’re stuck without evidence or charges, and the only option is to let our killer loose.

Lawyer Jung speaks to Chief Hyun and matter-of-factly requests that she follow the law — call him back when they have evidence to back up their assumptions. He notices the piece of evidence and recognizes the semaphore code, which grabs Team Leader Kang’s attention. Lawyer Jung simply smirks and asks if this recognition makes him a suspect.

IRY03-00081.jpg

In the bathroom, Seung-hoon approaches Hyun and whispers his confession that he’s the killer. Hyun casually fixes his hair and tells Seung-hoon that he knows.

Seung-hoon maintains his haughty attitude about getting away with the murder, claiming that he’ll be leaving the country and plans on killing Hyun soon. But Hyun kills his vibe by pointing out that Seung-hoon has no idea who’s behind him. In fact, it’s disappointing how oblivious he is.

Trying to gage how much Seung-hoon knows about his manipulation, Hyun acknowledges his taste in art. Seung-hoon picks up on the comment a half beat behind and promises to leave Hyun a nice painting at his death.

As Lawyer Jung leaves, he talks on the phone to his father about a family gathering, and Hyun overhears this briefly.

Our detectives come to the frustrating conclusion that they must find evidence in time for an effective investigation. Hyun pulls Ji-an aside and asks to use her computer. She watches him carefully so that he doesn’t dig through other files on her computer, but he assures her that her desktop is too disorganized for him to meddle.

Ji-an seems hopeful that they can induce a confession by poking at his pride again, but Hyun knows Seung-hoon won’t fall for it again. It’ll be hard to catch their killer because he’s planning on leaving the country, and all the evidence is somehow nonexistent. Ji-an vows to catch him, but Hyun tells her that the lawyer is not one to mess with. They dropped the hint about mental health treatment, so in case Seung-hoon does get caught, they’ll use the mental health defense to give him a shorter and more luxurious imprisonment.

IRY03-00097.jpg

Frustrated with the loopholes, Ji-an wishes that she could take care of them herself. Hyun takes her offhanded suggestion and asks, “Should we…?†He thinks back to Seung-hoon’s promise to kill him and sends something on Ji-an’s laptop. Hyun’s lips curl into a smile as he clarifies, “Should we kill them first?â€

Young Hyun prays in a church, and a small girl watches around the corner. He walks into the confessional, and she follows into the other side. After a moment, he confesses: “My father died. But the person who really killed him is me.†The girl gasps and looks through the screen. They make eye contact, and we flash forward to Ji-an waking up from a nap.

IRY03-00110.jpg

Joon-ho saves her from falling over and questions if she’s pushing herself too hard. She acknowledges this, but they’ve been coming up empty. He says the same about his forensic evidence. He’s scrutinized the victims, but there’s nothing. Joon-ho suggests that she get help from her frustrating yet intelligent friend, but she refuses to let Hyun give her another headache.

As she leaves, she thinks back to Hyun’s offer to kill the killer and her casual response, requesting that he notify her of the time and place. Hyun agrees and then warns her not to bother him until then. He’s no longer interested in this case and absolutely does not want to provide assistance. Thinking back to this last interaction, Ji-an leaves in a huff.

 IRY03-00114.jpg

Chief Hyun and Team Leader Kang attempt to get a warrant for Seung-hoon, but they are rejected any sort of advance in the investigation. Team Leader Kang accuses the institution for showing leniency towards a rich powerful man.

The detective team suffers through dark circles and lack of underwear (to which Ji-an suggest they just turn them inside out, HA) to continue their incessant search for evidence. Ji-an wonders why on earth they can’t find the fake cellphones and drugs. How could they just disappear? Amidst their doubt, Team Leader Kang intervenes with an inspirational speech about perseverance, which touches no one. They all just go back to work. Ha, good effort.

Hyun decides that Yang Seung-hoon knows nothing and wonders who sent the email. Could it be Lee Joon-young? Min? Or maybe… Ji-an? Someone rings his doorbell, and it’s none other than Ji-an, who forces entry. Hyung doesn’t like looking at her face, so he pushes her face to the side while talking to her. He says that she’s on his shit list — possible people who sent him the email — but he’s least interested in her.

Personal distaste aside, Ji-an requests for Hyun’s help on catching Seung-hoon. When her pleas don’t work, she tries to flatter him, “You may not have the personality, but you definitely have the intelligence to help.†He wants more than intelligence, so she gives him magnanimity and impudence. Getting to the point, Ji-an requests that Hyun help them get this scumbag off the streets.

Hyun agrees to do so, but his aid comes with a price, not just gratitude. When Ji-an agrees to compensate for his help, they get right on their way.

IRY03-00138.jpg

First stop is the art gallery to request help from Hyun’s art director friend. On their way, Ji-an receives a message in Chinese and wonders aloud if it’s spam, but Hyun takes note. The friend complains under his breath about Hyun but then politely apologizes in front of him for not having the information on the painting just yet.

But Hyun is here with a different request. They’re going to visit this friend at the hospital. They go back and forth about who’s going to the hospital: Who’s going? Me? Why? “Because this person (Ji-an) has to visit. Right now.†Why? “Because you’re going to be admitted to the hospital.†Wait why? “Because you’re indebted to me, and I always receive repayment.â€

IRY03-00154.jpg

Thanks to the indebted friend, Ji-an gains access to the hospital’s VIP lounge as a guest and sneaks into Ha Yoon-ji’s room. She asks about the evidence, and we quickly flashback to earlier that day.

Hyun and Ji-an discuss the disposal of evidence, which was not found anywhere near the crime scene. When Seung-hoon chocked Yoon-ji and forced her to reveal the caller, he had enough time to safely dispose of the evidence. He left the evidence with Yoon-ji, who later surrendered it to Lawyer Jung at the hospital.

Back in the hospital room, Ji-an pleads for Yoon-ji to testify and accuse Seung-hoon for his crimes. She refuses to comply, and Ji-an relays one word of advice from Hyun before leaving: “All decisions have consequences.†She thinks about the decision holding her back: Giving up the evidence to Lawyer Jung made her an accomplice to the crimes.

Ji-an reports to Hyun that her persuasion failed, and they wonder about Lawyer Jung’s depth of involvement in the crimes. She asks what he’s up to and offers to eat with him when he tells her that he’s eating alone. She asks if he’s lonely at all, but he clearly isn’t, as he declines her offer and seems perfectly content with his solo meal.

Hyun’s dinner is interrupted once again, this time by his art director friend, who asks why no one has visited him at the hospital yet. Oops, forgot about him. Hyun apologizes and tells his friend to go home.

Hyun replays Ji-an’s question about his loneliness, and he happily imagines his father and younger brother eating dinner with him. It’s sweet and tragic.

IRY03-00175.jpg

The next morning, Ji-an receives a call from the Chinese customs police, but she struggles to understand the message. Hyun also receives a call, but it’s from Seung-hoon, who believes he’s victorious as he prepares to go abroad. Hyun tries to convince Seung-hoon to stay in the country and give the detectives more time, but he refuses. Despite the supposed defeat, Hyun doesn’t seem to try too hard to keep Seung-hoon in the country, which means he’s got something up his sleeve.

Hyun returns to his old home and puts back the recordings. He notices the Ten Commandments and states the sixth one: “Thou shall not kill.â€

When Seung-hoon lands in China, the flight attendant asks him stay seated for a moment. Before he’s told the reason, armed officers approach him and accuse him of drug dealing. Seung-hoon scoffs then tries to run away, but he’s caught and dragged out of the plane. Hyun narrates, “Thou shall not kill, but there is no reason to live uselessly.â€

IRY03-00183.jpg

Refusing to accept defeat, Team Leader Kang joins Myung-woo to look through surveillance footage, but they’re interrurpted by Seung-joo and Eun-bok who report Seung-hoon’s arrest in China. Though he’s may find loopholes in Korea, his drug dealing charge will not be overlooked by the merciless Chinese forces. But how did the Chinese security forces receive notice about this?

Ji-an remains confused about all the Chinese messages she’s been receiving and doesn’t understand until she translates the emails. Chief Hyun barges into the office and demands to know why Ji-an sent out an official statement of cooperation without permission. She has no idea how she got involved with this, but then she thinks back to Hyun sending an email on her computer. She checks, and sure enough, he sent the email in her name.

In rage, Ji-an calls Hyun, and he sends his whereabouts. She storms into his old home and accuses him for wrongfully sending the email. Hyun shrugs that he was simply granting her request for help and that he warned her about the consequences. But Ji-an isn’t an idiot. He sent that email right after Seung-hoon was let go, before she even requested his help.

Hyun stands up and challenges Ji-an on who’s actually more brazen here. Slowly walking towards her, he accuses her of frequenting this house. He asks how she got here, and she shows him his text with the address.

But the address should have led her to the house a few doors down, not here. Hyun continues on with his hypothesis, “You saw the address and must have known right away where to come. I have a lot of time on my hands now, so I’m going to figure out the least interesting puzzle of the three.â€

He leans in and look right at her. “What is your identity?â€

COMMENTS

So far, this is definitely my cup of tea. The show’s got a good pace and format that slowly reveals our characters with the plot. Lawyer Jung’s introduction was smoothly integrated into the chaebol psycho subplot, and although his appearance came in short spurts, I found that his meticulous nature made a striking impression. Someone we should look out for, no doubt. The subplot gave us a break from the main conflict of Lee Joon-young, but it also gave us extra interactions to better illustrate who are characters are. So while I could care less for our scumbag chaebol heir, I found Hyun’s tactics of mystery-solving quite illuminating in building context for his character.

With Hyun, there seems to be little time or detail to waste. There are multiple dimensions to his character, and usually he speaks with some sort of goal in mind — the end justifies the means. You start to think beyond the surface level conversation and try to pick up the meaning of the conversation between the lines. Seo In-gook has great dramatic timing in that respect. Sometimes the words just roll off of his tongue, almost catching up the speed of his thinking process. But then he pauses for brief moments, long enough so that we can register that he’s saying something that means something. He works the crowd, and as a viewer, I find his character quite engaging.

IRY03-00084.jpg

You can see the range in Seo In-gook’s acting in the interrogation scene, when he started off as this eager newbie detective and gradually developed into a threatening profiler. I could see his eyes light up and adrenaline rush as he described, with precise detail, the killer’s motivations, his vulnerabilities, and his pleasure in killing. It’s fun and creepy to watch, because his performance is eerily convincing.

The flashbacks continue to give us some context on the relationship between Ji-an and Hyun, but I’m interested to learn more about Ji-an’s story, not just her stalking of Hyun. The story still remains heavily focused on Hyun, and I don’t have too many complains yet because he is the most interesting character to dissect. But giving us a little more background and depth to feisty Ji-an would be nice. She’s very likable as a character, but the depth of her character pales in comparison to Hyun. I know, not everyone can be as complex, intelligent, and cheeky as Hyun (is my crush showing?), but I really want to know Ji-an more as herself than as an amusing detective intertwined with Hyun. Because she’s definitely got her own interesting set of secrets, ones that even Hyun can’t seem to uncover.

Same figure; same outfit when he drenched from the rain. Cap.

And Cha Ji Abn likes EXO is a plus

No, I'm not :imstupid:  Do you know where EXO live? :hoplz:

Idk man... Same figure, same outfit with that Officer Yang killer too (who isn't Kyungsoo)... That shape of chin-cheek isn't like Kyungsoo's not sure too, but that tanned skin...Yes, that's Kyungsoo ears, but it's no fun if everyone believe he is Kyungsoo :ninja:

That killer guy (who isn't Kyungsoo) appeared in preview episode 5 too, thrice, if that back counts as him (and not Kyungsoo :har: ) here:

:har:  :har: :har:

D.O. must be her ultimate bias as well :la:

Yeah!! What happened to the poll?

The Cap he is wearing in the preview cut... How many times have we seen him wearing that same cap? I can recognize him wear that cap from any angle.

Thank you very much! I'll put credit! :la:

For weekly poll ofc :chu:

Top K-Drama Moments for the 4th Week of June

couchkimchi July 2, 2015

momentst10w4june.jpg

New shows have joined the ratings fray, and as the fight for the most viewership intensifies, the primetime dramas are rolling out their best scenes.
So, which K-drama moments from the fourth week of June made our list? Check it out!

5. “I Remember Youâ€: Just call me Sherlock Hyun

We love a good first impression, and Lee Hyun sure knows how to make one.

Ji An and her police unit are called to a crime scene. The only person missing is their new team leader.

They arrive there to find a sexy man wearing a sexy suit. Could this be their boss? They try to ask, but he has no time for frivolous questions. Instead, he delves right into the case, making deductions and connections that they wouldn’t have made in a million years. Oh dear, why isn’t he our team leader? And that’s the same question the police unit asked soon after he disappeared, and they met their real team leader. Poor them!

While this might be a short list, we hope you enjoyed it anyway!

Did your favorites make our top moments? Which ones would you like to add? We want to hear from you, so, give your shout out below, and let’s do this again next week!

Yaayy!! You brought back the poll.

I think officer Kang do not fit the profile of LJY. He is too tall to be LJY. Let's say the writers took into consideration about D.O's profile then the adult LJY should not be taller than 173cm.

Lets say LJY was at least 18 years old in 1995 considering he was in an adult jail(not the juvenile one), he should be minimum 38 years old and Officer Kang do not look like he is approaching 40.

Thanks for you \o/

Kyungsoo 173cm, Choi Won Young (forensic doctor) 183cm, Lee Chun Hee (Leader Kang) 188cm... but in other profile he's 192cm  Idk if he's that's tall! I thought he has same height with the doctor, haha...

Yes, from the poster too, it should be Dr. Lee as LJY and Lawyer Jung as Min, with just 16 episode and we already on episode 4, they won't make it more complicated...

That doctor is as creepy as LJY too...

I just want differ and want a surprise, haha

I change that poll option then :chu:  Do you think we must add another poll? What you suggest of question?

Naver Poll: Who is the best idol actor for the first half of the year?

Thursday, July 02, 2015

Screen%2BShot%2B2015-07-02%2Bat%2B10.04.

1. EXO D.O (I Remember You)

2. BtoB Yook Sung Jae (Who Are You - School 2015)

3. B2ST Yoon Doo Joon (Let's Eat 2)

4. ZE:A's Park Hyung Shik (High Society)

5. Infinite L (The Time that I've Loved You)

6. 2PM Junho (Twenty)

7. Others (Leave it in the comments)

8. B1A4 Baro (Angry Mom)

Naver Poll: The Golden age of idol actors! Who is the best idol actor for the first half of the year?

1. [+6,397, -2,082] This isn't an acting poll but a popularity poll meant for fangirls

2. [4,023, -223] Im Siwan isn't here because he is now a full-fledged actor... All the idols on this poll are good at acting.. Baro showed improvement since 'Reply 1994' while L is a far cry from his acting in 'Master's Sun'. Yoon Doo Joon and Park Hyung Shik are frequent seen in dramas and they're really good. Yook Sung Jae hit daebak this year and D.O's just getting bashed because he's an EXO member but his acting is good..

3. [+3,771, -692] If I had to choose, it would be Park Hyung Shik, D.O. and Yook Sung Jae

4. [+2,131, -423] A vote for D.O~~!! His psycho acting was poignant to a degree that his voice was terrifying to listen to. I was so focused~

5. [1,621, -214] How annoying are these people who whine that their oppa isn't here

6. [+1,690, -350] But L only appeared briefly. Should've put Hoya

7. [1,629, -975] D.O did an amazing job but I'd have to choose Yook Sung Jae who was a lead over D.O who was just a cameo

8. [1,076, -470] My vote goes to Gong Tae Kwang

9. [+623, -203] Lee Joon's not here because his main profession now is an actor

10. [+391, -143] You really have to acknowledge Shiksha-nim. I enjoyed 'Let's Eat'

11. [+165, -12] On a different topic, male idols are much better at acting than female idols

12. [+95, -25] Yook Sung Jae, Yoon Doo Joon, Park Hyung Shik. Where's Lee Joon?

13. [+71, -14] Putting my bias aside, the best ones here are D.O., Yook Sung Jae and Park Hyung Shik

can any of you actually post a preview of episode 5? seems i can't find it

Here, bonus article  :

“I Remember You†Episode 5 Preview + Week 2 Thoughts

feat.jpg

I have to say that this drama just keeps getting better. I’m glad that there will be some romance but I hope that it’s something that stays in the background because I think the serial killer case might be interesting without it.

As I expected, the guy they caught isn’t the big bad but a pawn. Which means that the thrill for the psycho isn’t really in the kill itself. He’s probably some egomaniac who gets off on outsmarting everyone.

In Week 2, we are either getting more red herrings or hints that Min is the killer and is probably Lawyer Jung Sun Ho while Doctor Lee Joon Ho is most likely Lee Joon Young.

Min is clearly involved in something even if this turns out to be a long con. He seems completely up his richard simmons like he gets off outsmarting everyone and I doubt he became a lawyer because he believes in the law. He probably became one just so that he could feed his ego by winning cases. The show seemed to imply that he killed his best friend when they were kids but I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t the guy in the story the old dude told.

Why do I somehow think that we’ll get some twist at the end and learn that Joon Young didn’t really kill Hyun’s father? But then again, he’s coming across creepy with his forced meet-cute. I mean, he first gets Hyun wet, then naked, then talks about how he’s lonely. I wonder if our genius thinks this guy has a crush on him.

Then we have this other guy who seems to be killing people against his will.

The other question is who other than Ji An is watching Hyun? Even if his house isn’t bugged, his phone has to be for the killer to be sent to the cop’s place. And will Hyun ever find the book with all his research?

I’m not in a rush for a romance but I like the hijinks that may ensue from their probably brief cohabitation.

This show has some funny lines like how Hyun tries not to kill if he can’t help it so as to rebel against his father. I wonder if he snooped around Ji An’s place and saw the photos and files she attempted to hide from him.

I continue to find the drama interesting and look forward to the next episode. I agree with others who think Seo In Guk is doing really well in this role. I have to admit that his mysterious character is what gets me most glued to my screen. I’m enjoying his chemistry with Jang Nara but I would like a bit more from her character who – four episodes in – is the typical Kdrama heroine. Something different would be nice for a change. It would like her to stand out like her male counterpart.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezW-0mzY0KY

Will Ji An and Hyun be caught in the closet? And will Hyun assist the cops in clearing his name? I guess we’ll find out next week. And after watching the preview, how in the world can Hyun not conclude that the good doctor is trying to get into his pants?

I also don't think it was LJY who killed the father. It would be too easy for the scenario.

Also, the one opened the door for Hyun,,, who knew about that secret lamp?

Also, Idt Hyun&Jiahn won't be caught on the closet.

The team leader phone will be ring or something sudden will be happen.

Still on Page 8 to read the analysis tho I prefer to watch the drama with ease

Yay. This drama is just 16 episode, and we already on 1/4 part of them. Maybe they'll make it less complicated~ Judging the poster (Hyun, Laywer, Doctor one)

LJY and young Hyun shared secret during prison visit right? Maybe that's one secret they was shared~

:hurr:  I hope so

Backtracking this thread is much easier than D.O. thread tho :har:  Take your time~

I Remember You: Episode 4

by rejoycie | July 2, 2015 |

IRY04-00085.jpg

Another link to Hyun’s past appears and in a twist of fate, history is on the verge of repeating itself. Once again, it’s Hyun versus the rest of the world, although this time round, he has his trusty sasaeng-fan-stalker by his side. It’s ironic that we expect this hour to give us some answers, but all it really does is give us half an answer, that prompts a thousand more questions and reservations.

EPISODE 4: “The Suspect, Lee Hyunâ€

-recap under spoiler-

Following the arrest of murderer Seung-hoon in China, detectives Seung-joo and Eun-bok report to Team Leader Kang that the drugs found in Seung-hoon’s possession are the same drugs found in the two victims’ bodies. Since his father’s influence would be useless in China, it’s likely he would get slapped with at least a life sentence.

As Ji-an makes her way to Hyun’s old apartment, she attempts to convince herself that underhanded methods are acceptable as long as the criminal is put away. What ensues is a battle between her inner voice approving of Hyun’s questionable methods, and her actual voice insisting that the police should strictly abide by the law.

Hyun corners Ji-an with his deduction that she’s a frequent visitor to this house, and once again confronts her about her identity. She debates whether to out herself, as we flash back to her childhood days: Little Ji-an follows little Hyun home, but her nonexistent spy skills cause her tracks to be immediately discovered by Hyun. She declares herself as his “partner,†and then we get this whole montage of the umpteen times Hyun demanded Ji-an get lost. Lol, he’s harsh, but her persistence is something too.

Thinking back to Hyun’s childhood confession that he’s responsible for his father’s death, Ji-an decides to stick to her previous admission that she’s just a fan. At Hyun’s disbelief that a mere fan would know the address of his childhood home, Ji-an claims to be a sasaeng fan, which Hyun likens to a stalker.

IRY04-00009.jpg

He accepts her words for now, and gets dangerously close to her while asking, “How can I repay you? What do you want from me? This kind of thing?†Slightly flustered, Ji-an puts a stop to his teasing, and acknowledges her annoyance that he doesn’t recognize her despite her constant stalking (as a fan) whenever he came to Korea. She tries to worm her out of the situation, saying, “They say not to mess with a woman who’s been hurt.â€

He threatens to report her for being a stalker, but she announces that as of today, she’s an ex-stalker; he’s in her past, and she’s now into the “lively and young oppas†of EXO. She encourages him to forget their history, and proposes getting along as partners from now on. Cut to: Ji-an being kicked out of the house.

Lawyer Jung receives a phone call informing him about the request for a drug investigation. He assumes it’s Hyun’s doing, and is thus a little surprised to find out that Ji-an’s name is behind it.

irememberyou4-00164.jpg

Deputy Chief Kang calls Chief Hyun and Team Leader Kang to his office to berate them for turning over their suspect to the Chinese police. Team Leader Kang defends their actions, but Deputy Chief is adamant that Ji-an be issued disciplinary action and transferred.

Team Leader Kang suddenly grows a backbone and insists that he will protect his team members. But Deputy Chief threatens to dismantle their special investigation team, and desperation drives Team Leader Kang to pound his fist on the table: “Father!†Then our resident heodang leader grimaces in pain, since he slammed his fist too hard.

Ji-an and the three musketeers overhear her transfer orders, and she mutters a swear directed at Hyun. But Myung-woo and Team Leader Kang think she’s directing it at them, and even Lawyer Jung arrives to join the little party.

IRY04-00030.jpg IRY04-00034.jpg

Ji-an takes him aside, and gives him permission to complain about the drug investigation. His roundabout reply tricks her into revealing that she’s being held scapegoat for the instigator. She only belatedly realizes that she fell into his trap while he confirms his hunch that Hyun’s the real mastermind.

Back at Hyun’s childhood home, he spies a pair of handcuffs on the floor, dropped by Ji-an when she chucked her bag at him previously. He tut-tuts at her oversight.

As he heads out of the house, his neighbor, forensics specialist Joon-ho, is there to greet him with a rogue water hose that will not shut off. After a rather failed wrestling match with the hose, the two grown man are left drenched from head to toe. Okay, I kinda love that this is how they meet.

They both rummage in their pockets for a handkerchief, but only pull out job-related tools like a magnifying glass and handcuffs. Hyun guesses that Joon-ho is a doctor (Joon-ho: “Something like thatâ€) and Joon-ho guesses Hyun is a police officer (Hyun: “Something like thatâ€).

Hyun heads to Joon-ho’s house to borrow some dry clothing, and the two of them start undressing with their backs turned to each other.

As Hyun is putting his shirt on, a scalpel appears within a hair’s breadth of his neck. His senses are on high alert, but the camera pulls back to reveal that Joon-ho was simply trying to remove the clothing tag on Hyun’s shirt.

Hyun observes that Joon-ho’s expecting someone since he recently went shopping, and Joon-ho replies, “I’m always waiting because I’m lonely.†He explains that his wife and child live abroad.

Hyun sips the tea that Joon-ho prepared, then notices Joon-ho’s intent stare. Joon-ho awkwardly explains that he’s grateful to finally have a neighbor, since the house next door was left empty for so long. There’s nothing wrong with Joon-ho’s words, but this atmosphere couldn’t be any eerier.

irememberyou4-00255.jpg

In an abandoned building, a dark hooded figure walks by: “Please forgive me, God. I couldn’t help it.†And then, the camera pans to reveal a dead body left in his wake.

Back in China, Seung-hoon is raising a fuss that strings haven’t been pulled to release him from prison. He’s curious as to how “they†are doing, and Lawyer Jung answers that Hyun and Ji-an are probably fine. Seung-hoon slams his fist in anger: “Tell them to enjoy these times. People can live inside these walls too.â€

Lawyer Jung says soothingly, “It must hurt. Isn’t it best to make the easiest choice at the latest time?â€

IRY04-00053.jpg

It’s been two weeks since Ji-an has been stuck in her demoted position, and she plasters a forced smile on her face to deal with petty complaints. She drops by to see her team, but hurries to hide when Deputy Chief Kang appears, ducking behind the boys. Her team even adorably sways side-to-side to keep her out of sight.

With her mood down in the dumps, Ji-an realizes how much she’d loved her job — the stakeouts, the crime scenes, the handcuffs, and even the stalking.

Aunt brings up her obsession with Hyun, and Ji-an again classifies it as monitoring, not stalking. She recalls her promise to no longer watch Hyun, and sighs in frustration that she has no excuse to stalk anymore.

In a flashback to Hyun’s childhood, we see the moment when he discovers the hidden lever that opens the basement door. Min is there too, and both boys head down to the basement for their first time.

In the present, Hyun retraces his steps into the basement, just as he receives a text message from a detective, Officer Yang. He’d been on duty during young Hyun’s visit to Joon-young and got overly excited at Hyun’s ability to accurately guess the number of matchsticks.

Officer Yang rings up Hyun, who has no inclination to meet up until Officer Yang mentions information regarding Joon-young’s escape. That’s more than enough to get Hyun rushing over.

 IRY04-00062.jpg

But just before their agreed-upon meeting time, Officer Yang gets a diffferent visitor. A hooded figure rushes into the house and Officer Yang’s eyes seem to widen in recognition, but the man swiftly sticks a knife into Officer Yang. Oh crap.

By the time Hyun arrives at the door, Office Yang is bleeding profusely, and the attacker turns out the lights to hide himself. Hyun calls Officer Yang’s cell phone, and hears it ringing from within the house. Suspicious, Hyun finds the door unlocked and cautiously heads in.

He finds Office Yang on the floor and immediately calls for an ambulance. Alas, it’s too late as Office Yang dies before he manages to utter a word.

IRY04-00073.jpg

Hyun’s spidey sense alerts him to the presence of the intruder in the house, and within moments, the attacker comes rushing at him with a knife. A violent fistfight ensues, and Hyun’s judo skills manage to hold back his opponent significantly. However, the attacker jumps out of the window before Hyun can unmask him, and he limps away just as the police sirens sound: “Please forgive me, even I can’t do anything about myself.â€

Back in Officer Yang’s house, Hyun notices the boxes of information stored, but the arriving police, and the rather damning evidence of Office Yang’s blood on his shirt, forces him to make his escape.

Chief Hyun and the team inspect the site. They hear Hyun’s call to emergency services and think they recognize his voice, then review a car’s black box recording that shows Hyun leaving the area. He’s now the prime suspect.

irememberyou4-00424.jpg

Myung-woo informs Ji-an that Hyun is a murder suspect, but she doesn’t know of his whereabouts. She goes to Hyun’s childhood home to look for him, and the way she removes the key from its hiding place is rather telling of her familiarity with this house.

By the time she arrives home, Hyun is playing video games oh-so-comfortably in her living room, and scares the bejeezus out of her. He labels his visit as a “surprise event†for his stalker, while she’s flabbergasted at his audacity for trespassing into a police officer’s house. He correctly guesses that she just came from breaking into his childhood home as well, but she maintains that she was chasing a murder suspect.

Ji-an reaches for her handcuffs to apprehend him, but he dangles them in front of her. She snatches them and attempts to cuffs him, but he asks if she really thinks he’s a murderer. He says, “Believe me. I don’t kill people if I can help it.†He thinks back to his father calling him a monster, and finishes, “Because normal children rebel against their parents.†He means he’s rebelling against the monster label, but since Ji-an doesn’t know that, she’s just confused.

Hyun says she owes him a favor, and he’s here to stay since he has nowhere else to go. This seems to strike a chord with Ji-an, although it also leaves her stewing in anger. She ought to turn him in but she can’t bring herself to, and she calls herself crazy for it. Hyun shakes his head at her contradictory monologue.

The police team is hard at work with stakeouts and investigations, although Team Leader Kang is unconvinced about Hyun’s motive for murdering Officer Yang. Myung-woo suggests starting off first with Hyun’s interrogation, and then proceeds to surreptitiously remove a photograph of himself from the board.

IRY04-00099.jpg

Lawyer Jung is at a gathering with other lawyers, where the speaker is a rich old man talking about a crime novel: Two boys, A and B, were playing with bow and arrows, and A shot B dead by accident. The incident was believed to be accidental and A got acquitted, but someone saw A shooting perfectly in a vacant lot before the incident. At the end of the day, no one is sure if A killed his friend on purpose.

He links this to a similar real-life crime, where a child killed a friend in what seemed like an accident, but the old man believes it was a planned murder. What’s more interesting is that the child appeared in front of him as a grown young man, he says as he smiles at Lawyer Jung.

Old Man takes Lawyer Jung aside to ask a favor. He sighs that his old body has failed him, and Lawyer Jung replies that the body isn’t important when the brain is intact. Old Man asks Lawyer Jung to “be my body.â€

Ji-an struggles with her loyalty to the police, and tries to persuade herself that she’s monitoring Hyun as a murder suspect (not abetting him). At least she has the guts to admit that she’s simply giving cowardly excuses.

She hustles around the house, hiding Dad’s case file and her childhood photo from Hyun. Eventually, she questions him about his relation to Officer Yang, and he explains that Officer Yang is just someone he knew from his childhood.

Ji-an encourages him to turn himself in, which Hyun rejects in a heartbeat. Changing topics, she’s curious about his clean set of clothing, and we see that he sneaked into someone’s yard earlier to pilfer some clothes, though he left money behind to cover them.

Putting her faith in Hyun, Ji-an heads to Officer Yang’s apartment. Under the cover of being a member of the investigation team, she gets the officer-on-duty to leave his post for thirty minutes, and sneaks Hyun and herself into the cordoned-off crime scene.

After poking around the apartment, Hyun pockets a pill found on the floor. Although Hyun didn’t get a look at the murderer’s face, he noticed that the murderer was of normal build, and had exceptional fighting skills.

Ji-an scoffs at his vague information, but Hyun has one final point to make. Officer Yang made no move to defend himself from the knife wound, which is odd, since basic survival instincts would have tried to block the knife.

Hyun’s senses pick up impending footsteps, and he quickly turns out the light and pulls Ji-an inside a closet with him. It’s Team Leader Kang and Myung-woo, who both have doubts about Hyun being the murderer, though Myung-woo still harbors distaste for Hyun: “His entire existence is rude.â€

An inspection of Officer Yang’s computer revealed lots of porn videos, and Team Leader Kang swears that he has no appetite for such things.

Myung-woo vows to never live like Officer Yang, old and single, but the problem is, there are no women around him.

irememberyou4-00607.jpg

Team Leader Kang suggests Ji-an, but Myung-woo rejects Ji-an as a woman, saying that she has no figure. Ji-an holds in her irritation at her colleagues’ comments, but accidentally lets slip a hiccup when she realizes her proximity to Hyun.

Both investigators hear it — and worse, Ji-an’s hiccups just won’t stop. Myung-woo cocks his gun and starts to approach the closet, while Ji-an and Hyun huddle together like sitting ducks.

irememberyou4-00613.jpg

COMMENTS

What, no smooches? I half-expected Hyun to kiss her to muffle her hiccups, but oh well, maybe it’s too out-of-character for now.

I really love this setup with Hyun being the wrongly accused lone wolf, and the only person he has a semblance of trust in being Ji-an. To a certain extent, his knowledge of her is limited and shallow, although it’s still up in the air if he really doesn’t recognize her, or if he’s just toying with her. Still, there’s something he finds trustworthy about her and when push comes to shove, he finds an inexplicable pull to seek refuge with Ji-an. It’s actually pretty likely that he’s already somewhat aware of Ji-an being the little girl who followed him around, since what are the chances his genius self didn’t already do a little snooping around Ji-an’s apartment?

It killed me a little inside when Ji-an encouraged Hyun to turn himself in, and his reaction was an earnest question if Ji-an really thinks he’s a murderer. While he’s used to messing around and being a jerk as a defense mechanism to protect himself from getting hurt, it’s almost palpable how much he really cared for Ji-an’s answer, as if it was the one opinion that mattered to him. It’s one of the few times we see him being completely serious, and it’s an almost identical occurrence from when Dad accused little Hyun of being a monster, and Hyun’s plea was for Dad to have at least listened to him. Dad and Ji-an might have been the only two people who were ever on Hyun’s side, so in a sense, their betrayal would have hurt all the more. And thank goodness, Ji-an eventually pulled through his smarminess to believe in him.

I appreciate that the show isn’t overly pushing romantic vibes between the two leads, because I much rather enjoy this dependent and semi-cohabitation relationship they have with each other. It’s impossible to deny their chemistry and charged moments, but I’m in no rush for him to be a Prince Charming to her Damsel In Distress. Hyun is slowly polishing Ji-an up to be a better investigator, and Hyun is showing small signs of letting down his icy demeanor in her presence. They mutually complement and complete each other in a rather unpredictable fashion, and I hope the show only does great things with this development.

irememberyou4-00512.jpg

Joon-ho and Hyun finally meet, albeit in a rather unexpected silly way. It’s striking how such a comedic situation can be so thick with suspense, what with all the subtext and reading between the lines. Joon-ho’s disturbing smiles are eerily similar to that of Joon-young’s, and his preoccupation and bump-in with Hyun seem too coincidental to be pure chance. If he indeed bought the house next to Hyun’s childhood home deliberately, Joon-young’s words that he’s already next to Hyun fit the puzzle perfectly, but then again, I can’t trust the show not to pull a fast one on us. While Joon-ho’s intentions remain murky for now, it’s hard to ignore the almost fatherly smile he occasionally directs towards Hyun.

There are many arrows pointing to Lawyer Jung being Little Bro Min, noting the comparable wide-eyed, innocent yet emotionless expressions, although I’m not betting my cards on anything. The scene of the two little boys looking for the basement door reminded me that only Dad and the two kids knew about the lever to open the door from outside the basement. So when the door opened for little Hyun to find Dad dead, either Min opened it, or one of the brothers told Joon-young about the hidden lever. With little Hyun’s confession, he’s looking guiltier and guiltier by the minute, although we still can’t rule out Min’s participation in Dad’s death. So, what’s the deal here – is Lawyer Jung Little Bro, is Lawyer Jung the puppet master pulling the strings behind Seung-hoon, or is Old Man the big brain behind it all? Where are the answers!

There’s definitely more that meets the eye regarding the members of Ji-an’s team. Myung-woo seems overly and unreasonably set against Hyun, and I’m wondering where he falls in this tangled web. Team Leader Kang seems to be nursing a cute crush on Ji-an, but is that really all there is to him? Of course, with another uncontrollable rogue killer, we’ve got our hands pretty full with loose criminals, hidden identities, and sexy smiles. All in a day’s work, really.

Kim Ye Rim lends her voice to 'I Remember You' OST 'Who Are You'

July 6, 2015 @ 12:19 am by jennywill

The song "Who Are You" is the theme song to Jang Na Ra's character for the show as she works with Seo In Guk for an investigation in the drama. It's a song that shows her heart changing towards Seo In Guk as she works more and more with him.

The staff revealed, "Kim Ye Rim recorded the song without a single break. In the middle we suggested she take a break, but she said she was focused on the song and asked to continue. Even though she's young, she showed off an expertise in understanding the song and focus."

Just finished watching 5ep in raw. Although I don't understand 70% of the conversation I think I understood the overall story line for the episode.

1. If the black dude is not min, why was the storyline of his serial killing included?

2. The serial killing of woman is over now??

3. Why is Lee Hyun meeting that old fellow??

I have 1000 more question after watching this episode. I will watch it again with sub for more clarification.

Extra: I hate how PD found the black dude whose profile looks like Kyungsoo. To me his profile looks EXACTLY like kyungsoo when he is dress in black. Or maybe I am just delulu.

Do you watch it on viki?

I think I just wait full subs tonight...

Wow 70%, so you can Korean too?

Will try to answer your qs later, so the killer got caught? By whom? The guy with black shirt and cap reading book on the window from preview, who? What highlight of episode 5?

Seems like that, they want make it like twist but failed  So, that kid is relate to Hyun?

RATING EPISODE 5

Just a simple input (I follow this drama newly)

That lawyer is Min the dongsaeng.. Judging from the similiarity of face and brain quality that apparently genetic.

The grown up Jung Jun Young (is it right?) is the doctor guy who friendly with Jang Nara.

One thing I'm curious about, how did Jang Nara end up with Lee Hyun's father file case (that once had by the police lady)?

* I dont remember the cast name, pardon me.

Hello welcome to the thread :ahmagah:

Yes, we thought so:

- Min = Lawyer Jung

- Lee Jun Young = Doctor Lee

Yes again, how she has it... it can be

- Hyun who maybe planning to stick with her, he lived with that ahjumma

- LJY the master mind, even as prisoner he had many hands... that's super creepy of villain

Yes the killer got caught and he was a complete stranger not at all related to Hyun(at least to my understanding). In ep 5 preview where the showed this black guy reading book from the window was the present killer.

Wohoooo... that the smart choice of PD to casting almost similar body with Kyungsoo, with predictable plot make us overthinking it    Thank you~

this drama is soo good and it's nice to see jang nara and seo in guk together..

anyway im so hyped for next week's episodes

They both cute together :chu:

Maybe they just tricking us, they make doctor and lawyer seem like LJY and Min, but actually not of them. We still don't know how Hyun's mom dead too... Please do, and welcome to the thread :ahmagah:

1. [+2,260, -27] Something happened between Seo In Gook and Park Bo Geum when they were young

2. [+180, -2] It was the younger brother who drew the scary pictures and not Seo In Gook. He wanted to hide the fact that his dongsaeng is a psycho thus told the dad that he drew them. But the younger bro told the dad to not believe his hyung

3. [+172, -1] Choi Won Young is suspicious!! He must be Lee Joon Young..

KBS 2TV’s Monday-Tuesday television series ‘I Remember You’ is drawing attention from a number of viewers!

Many fans are expressing their interest and attention towards the drama. Moreover, the relationship between Lee Hyun (played by Seo In-guk) and Cha Ji-an (played by Jang Na-ra) is adding more fun to the drama. In the previous fifth episode that aired on July 6, Ji-an’s pitiful was revealed, alongside the reason why she was so desperately after Lee Joon-young (played by Do Kyung-soo). Ji-an was trying to find him anxiously because his father disappeared on the same day he was broke out from prison.

To make our brain work out :derp:

via phi3nk

Wolves book is based on Cherokee Legend (Native American Legend). the story is about the fighting between two wolves inside every human innerself.

here's the story :

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.

"It is terrible fight and it is between two wolves. one is evil-- he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self- pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego," He continued, "The other is good-- he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you- and inside every other person, too,"

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then ask his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Here the same story but known as "The Wolves Within".

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson, who came to him with anger at a friend who had done him an injustice, "Let me tell you a story.

I too, at times, have felt a great hate for those that have taken so much, with no sorrow for what they do. But hate wears you down, and does not hurt your enemy. It is like taking a poison and wishing your enemy would die. I have struggled with these feelings many times," He continued, "It is as if there are two wolves inside me. One is good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him, and does not take offense when no offense was intended. He will only fight when it is right to do so, and in the right way.

But the other wolf, he is full of anger. the littlest thing will set him into a fit of temper. He fight everyone, all the time, for no reason. He can't think because his anger and hate are great. It's helpless anger, for his anger will change nothing.

Sometimes it's hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both of them try to dominate my spirit."

The boy looked intently into his grandfather eyes and asked, "Which one wins, grandfather?"

The Grandfather smiled and quietly said, "The one I feed."
