Sungjae is good in this; you wouldn't think he's an idol. Except for that blonde orange hair...  The hair works though, it makes him seem more reckless.

Sungjae was cool ! He's a chaebol in real life, and I actually think Taekwang resembles him lol

Son Mi Kyung, the one who sent the package to Eunbi, is Eunbyeol's mother.

Maybe she's not her biological mom ? It's weird.

Sungjae's recklessness and loudness in real life is not coming from a pained and angry origin, that's the difference.  Thus, I think his acting is not just him being himself.  The presence/airs of a Chaebol's son is hard to emulate, so I think it wasn't just because of his reaction during the audition that he got the part.

I think the one who sent the package is Eunbyeol, not Son Mi Kyung.  The former is aware of her twin's existence and wants her twin to have the same things as her, possibly also from guilt...?

Somehow im not surprised because the previous drama had a low rating too. Hoping that i'll increase each eps.

150428 rating

KBS2 "School 2015" 4.2%

The previous drama had ridiculous ratings and a lot of viewers are already invested in other shows, so it will not be easy for "School" to recover.  Plus, "Angry Mom," which is also a school drama, dealt with bullying too, so people are probably wondering why they would give "School" a try.  It's also directly going against "Hwajung" with Chajumma in it; that's a formidable rival.  The ratings went up during the 2nd episode though, so it's not a lost cause.  That much of an increase is hard nowadays, too.

I hate watching a drama while it's airing.  I should have waited until it's about 3/4 of it's run.  Self-discipline where did you go off to...?  Is it Monday yet?

lol. I usually hate Monday, but now.. I dont know, lol

I was going to reply that we should just skip Mondays and go straight to nights, but I realized I stream the episodes in the morning while preparing to go out because where I'm at is 16 hours behind Korean time.  So, yeah, let's stop hating Mondays for at least 14 more weeks.

I can only say it's a convo between Yi Ahn and Eunbyeol...

Aaah can't wait !

Now I have to learn to read Hangul?  Andwae...!  I knew I shouldn't have broken my rule not to watch until about 3/4 through the run of a drama...

Edit:  It just sank in; it's a convo between Yi Ahn and Eunbyul?   It's a flashback...?  Eunbyul is going to be revealed as still being alive this coming week...?  Eunbyul is texting, pretending to be Eunbi...?  That would sure play with Yiahn's head too much; just imagine the disconnect between the texts and Eunbyul's behavior.  I need to stop speculating.

Monday, please come sooner with the subs.  Jebal...

Hey can someone tell me who Jung Soo In is? I don't think she appeared in amy of the episode yet but we saw her mom only

She's Eunbyul's elementary school classmate.  Eunbyul used to go to their house a lot when they were in elementary school.  The mom doesn't seem to have ill feelings towards Eunbyul, but Eunbyul's mom had a wary reaction when she recognized whom Eunbi (as Eunbyul) was speaking with on the street.  There's not much more info yet. The scene is at about 13:52 of the 3rd episode.

I'm getting a lot impressed with the scripwriter of this School installment.  The pacing is great, things are resolved without unnecessary dragging.  The approach to bullying is not ordinary, no black and white characters (except maybe the lead bully from the other school).  Characterizations are deep.  Soo much things going on, and seemingly more on the horizon, without making the audience feel overwhelmed.  Even the mystery (ies) is easy to take because while waiting for it to be solved, there are other things that temporarily occupy the attention of the audience, without taking away from the excitement of finally having the mystery resolved.  This is the kind of drama that makes people get into discussions and speculations.

Sungjae-a, you're impressive!  Sorry, just had to say that.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've been thinking about that, too. Tae Kwang knows the truth. But I find it weird that he's not asking why Eunbi pretended to be Eunbyeol and he's not the least curious about the real Eunbyeol's whereabouts. I know that they didn't really get along, but still.

Taekwang was not close with Eunbyul; on the contrary, the latter ignored him.  It's not surprising he isn't concerned about her missing.  He welcomes the fact a "better" Eunbi replaced her; he found a friend.  He also trusts Eunbi, so he doesn't question her culpability in Eunbyul's disappearance.

Yian is the questionable one.  If he was in love with Eunbyul, how come he's not even curious about what happened to her?  There's no question now that Eunbi is not Eunbyul, so is he going to just jump into a new Eunbyul right away?  Unless he's just doing this to see/test if Eunbi is a/the bad guy...  The way he treats Eunbi like he owns her and the way he bullies Taekwang makes it seem like he really does just want to move on to the next Eunbyul.

I think I know what you mean, haha.

Btw, Yi Ahn is not only a swimmer. He is iron man, lol.

And I love Eunbi Taekwang moment. I hope this drama will be different from other k-dramas, and the second male lead actually have chance to get the girl

The question is, who is the second male lead...?    :troll:

Someone is super human in this episode and someone will turn human in the next...?

No wonder he's been "cranking" his shoulders lately; it's rusting...?

I yelled, "It's going to turn makjang!" when I saw the streetlight...

judging from the poster, and the pilot episodes, maybe the second male lead is Taekwang (he was introduced after Yi Ahn).

But it already feels different from other dramas tho. Bcus sometimes I feel like Taekwang's role is slightly more important for the story. Idk, lol.

Maybe we should stop talking about the super human for awhile? lol. Its unfair for people who havent watched :imstupid:

I'm really trying not to give too much spoilers, but I just want to vent!  Okay, I'll be nice.

I thought the writers were not going to steer the drama into makjang territory.  Maybe something to do with ratings...  I wouldn't be normal if I watched this episode and not want to watch tomorrow's, makjang or not.

It's rare, but sometimes the lead doesn't get the girl.  They're in high school anyway.  No one has to get the girl.  I just don't want anyone forcefully deciding for anyone. Even Eunbyul would not have let Yiahn act like he was doing the last past episodes.

Taekwang so far got to say two of the most catchy phrases in this drama: at the bus, and now the roof with the handphone/mobile phone.

sigh..so yi an involved in a car accident which hurt his shoulder and could possibly brings an end to his swimming career..

It touches me how yi an ignores his injuries and rushed to classroom in order to stop sooyoung from revealing dat eunbi is d one frm tongyeong

It looks like yi an somehow loves eunbi too..to an extent that he is willing to sacrifice his swimming career or even life for eunbi(he rushed to eunbi even he's involved in car accident)

This episode is so heart-breaking   :rlytearpls:

It also shows maybe swimming is not his passion.  He'll probably become a model in the end.  Meta...

Eunbi at the ending: "Im still young. Why should I choose one of you? Lets just be friends!" :imstupid:

Because having one hot guy is better than nothing...?   Do you actually think there are more of us out there?  It already seems like you saved a country in your past life as it is...   :troll:

Most of you who laughed at the accident scene probably never really saw real accident. It doesn't have to be all bloody like hollywood movies or other dramas. I've seen so many accidents in my hometown (Indonesian people are nosy as hell, everytime there is an accident people would gather around the scene lol) most of them turn out just fine, only bruised and scratches not blood everywhere. What people see in media are those severe and extreme accidents, not petty accidents that occur more frequaently.

My friend once hit a girl who was driving motorcycle. The motorcycle was wrecked but the driver was fine. My friend brought her to hospital and it only took like 10-20 minutes to give her a shot and medicines lol.

If Eunbyul is still alive now that would be the definition of makjang lol. Eunbyul can't be alive, it just doesn't make sense. If so, then whose body were they cremated ?

Except that the apparent speed of the car which was not originally stopped at the crossroads would have made this a severe accident.  Notice that there were only a few cars on the wide road (no traffic) and the car was not decelerating since it was far from the traffic lights  before it turned green; the tendency is to drive faster in this case.  The big indentation on the windshield, the flying broken glass, and him flying over the moving car, and landing several feet behind it would not have made this a simple accident.  If he only bounced back in front of a non-speeding car, he might have only bruises; but it still would have been really painful.  He nonchalantly walked into class as if nothing happened with no scratches, never mind the absence of bruises which show up after a couple of hours, and only a reddish stain on his collar that looks like BB cream, not even blood-like at all.  I get really red when I scratch an itch on my skin, so I'm expecting even just a few reddish evidence of the accident on his skin, especially since he has fair skin.

Let's see from real life example :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYVV4NqI3cg

From the articles I read the woman was ok. She was brought to hospital because of head injury. In this episode Yi-Ahn did hit his head on the car but didn't land his head on the street, but on his shoulder. Also looking from the scene it would be make more sense if the bruises were on his shoulder/body. I'd expect some scratches on his hand though.

Don't forget the effect of adrenaline, it can dull your pain very much until it goes away.

From neighbor forum (soompi) by poster adnana

Anyway let's not dig on this too much, it's just a drama lol.

Hey, I like you.  You don't just spew from your mouth; you provide proofs. It made me want to take a closer look.

Look at the way the woman was running; she was running at a good speed in about the same direction of the car, on an acute angle.  That should lessen the transfer of momentum.  Notice also that the car ahead of the one which hit the lady slowed down because there were children crossing; that forced the car that hit her to slow down as well.  It was only starting to accelerate when it was over the crosswalk, right before it hit the woman.  It couldn't have gained that much speed.  Also, it would not have been trying to speed up too much because it's only a two-lane street, not as wide as the one where Yiahn was hit (6 lanes).  That also was not a head-on collision, like Yiahn's in the School scene; she was hit by the side of the car and bounced off in the same direction.  The first impact on the car is somewhere in the middle of the body, and she's not exactly skinny; plus she's wearing thick clothes.  Her hands would have automatically tried to protect her head after the initial impact as well.  It looks to me like she also did not hit the street first with her head; rather, with her lower body (might even be the butt).  Then she got dragged by inertia on the street.  Even then, she got head injury.

Yiahn's first impact, which is the most dangerous, is on his left shoulders (glass broke first near/around the shoulder) immediately followed by the side of the face on the metal part of the car above the windshield (at least a concussion possibility).  I can't believe there was nary a scratch or redness on his face, even if adrenaline helped disguise the more dangerous injuries (next episodes will most likely deal with this).  He rolled on top of the car, so that should help. Then he hit the street with his left feet and hand.  That could cause a broken arm or leg, or I think they'll make it look like a dislocated shoulder, torn ligament or muscle next episode.  Then he touched his right shoulder to indicate pain there. Uhm... wrong shoulder...

Yiahn is a swimmer, not a body builder.  Swimmers are not made to bulk up too much; the leaner they are, the less drag.  He was also wearing a thin windbreaker.  Not a lot of cushion... I also remember on a previous episode that he was being planned to participate in the longer distance swims, those need more stamina (cardio workout is best for them) than big muscles (weight training for strength/power, not body-build).  Think sprinters compared to marathoners.  The reason body doubles don't always have major injuries is they are trained and the speeds of cars are slower than it seems onscreen, thus the need for slowmo.  Yiahn is supposed to be only trained as a swimmer, not someone who knows how to get hit by a car.  Plus, I can't get over the fact that he doesn't have scratches or redness on his face.  By the time he reaches the school, those should be evident already.

I don't mean to say though that anyone who gets hit by a car will die or lose consciousness even, some are lucky and could get hit in the right spot; however, what's the probability of walking as if nothing happened if the kind of accident is similar to Yiahn's?  That minuscule probability is what's making this lean towards makjang.

You mistook Taekwang for Yi Ahn. Yi Ahn is the Ironman swimming dude, not Taekwang. :)

I like all the objective discussions in here. Keep 'em coming! :D

Waah!!! I can't believe I mistook the name.  I like Taekwang even more than Sungjae too.  Maybe I did that because I keep mentioning him in my posts.  I'll edit that post.

The homeroom teacher read about the bully who transferred to Sekwang from the updated school homepage, on his anonymous board.  Who has access to that?  Sekwang students only?  Why did the practice teacher make the announcement that it's updated?  The students and the homeroom teacher didn't seem aware it was updated.
