When I think about it, it's natural to be attracted to different bodies, and society is what has made us think certain things are bad. I do think pedophilia is disgusting and thats an opinion, but I do recognize it can be natural and if your attracted to younger bodies, it doesn't exactly mean your corrupted. Unless your attracted to younger bodies due to trauma I don't see a reason why It can be considered a mental problem. There are many people who are pedophiles due to poor social skills and low self esteem, but thats not true for all. Just 200-300 years ago, 13 to 14 year old girls were being put into arranged marriages with grown men all of the time. 400-500+ years ago, this overall thought would have been considered foreign. Things change and not necessarily because of a mental defect. With that said, in today's society, it's not appropriate and should be treated as such. Correlation does not necessarily mean causation, and while I can believe individuals who suffer from pedophilia are socially awkward, I don't see how your ability to deal with other people affects your inherent sexuality. The problem is, how are we to know the sexual urges of paedophiles? Some probably know of their problem but act involuntarily to their desires -- part of why I think it is a mental problem.
