Got July 16. I used a truth table + digital logic. LOL

I eliminated the ones with a single cluster since they wouldn't match anything else, then I tried to simplify the mathematical expressions that I got. After which, I eliminated the dates that were not mentioned by Cheryl.

I was left with July 14, July 16, August 14, August 15 and August 17 as well.

I created another map for the dates that were left. The only date left without any group was July 16.

I have read the explanation to the correct answer by different sources and I still don't understand why the answer is as it is. But it's okay, I'm done with secondary school and I got A1 for Maths for my O-levels, so I am done with that phase. I have not studied Maths for 3 years now lol

i only got A2 for emath and B3 for amath :P

but i guess, the one in the spoiler gives the best explanation among all other explanations that i've read.

Yes, I am :). I got B3 for my A Math too. In poly, I had an Accounting module and realised HOW EASY IT IS. No wonder my friends who were taking POA were scoring A1 so easily, should have taken that lol

i already know the answer so i can't play along but...

This was not for 11 year olds btw. It was for 15 year olds.... and it was on an "Olympiad" test that was taken for the best 40% of students at a Maths school in Singapore.

Not that that takes much sensationalism away from it ... kids in Singapore are still probably better at maths than you... but still... perhaps people will feel a little better knowing it's like high school mensa maths...and not base level math for Singapore's elementary school kids.
