Going Blonde

Recommended Posts

Hey, I'm thinking of dying my hair blonde, and I just need some advice, I'm not an expert on dying hair so hopefully anyone on here who is can help.

I'm thinking of buying this - http://us.lorealprofessionnel.com/products/haircolor/lighteners/infinie-platine

I don't know to use it properly though, I know there will be instructions but I don't know what else I would need to mix it with like a hairdresser would.

I also want to dye my hair gradually lighter, rather than going from dark hair to blonde straight away so I can how light I want to go and then stop when I'm happy with it.

If anyone thinks a different product would be better though let me know thanks.

My hair now: I'm the guy by the way.

Aw, you're cute! I think brunette suits you better, but if your heart is set on blonde, I would recommend getting it professionally done. Going from dark to light in terms of hair color is hard and it's easy to mess up your hair if you aren't 100% sure of what you're doing.

I might go and get it done professionally. I get where your all coming from with the dark hair and ill probably dye it dark again, but I just want to try it for a change. My hair will be straight when its blonde too so that will look better, as I know it wouldn't look as great on my curly hair.

be carful with the roots!!! to not demage your hair

and yes you should go slowly until u get the results you want, and it might take 2 to 3 applications of hair dye

i suggest you to at least watch some tutorials of people who have done it before, you might even find the color you like, good luck

my oppinnion is that it would look guetto on you, try something more of ur color :ohbi:

um you know this is just hair. You can bleach bathe your hair like once a week ... or every two weeks and it'll get gradually lighter without damage.

I've done the same  and my hair is pitch black.... I use semi perm violent dye diluted with conditioner .... it looks okay i guess.. im not a fan ... its not brassy at all with it.

There are youtube tutorials on this for a reason.... im just saying since it's just hair... try it

try searching

bleach bathing and toning brassy hair.

Go for it, but make sure you tone it so it doesn't end up orange or bright yellow. Since your hair is dark you should (carefully) do your eyebrows, too.

Also, dyeing is when you add color to your hair, bleaching is when you lighten it, so you'll be bleaching your hair lighter.
