Rappers in Korea .. ?! ( ELF GATHER HERE PLEASE )

So a friend of mine who's actually ELF, same as me, She's a newbie btw, anyways, She claimed that EunHyuk is the best rapper in Asia, yet 4th in the world .. tbvh, I literally burst out laughing at her words, I thought she was trolling and joking around, when I actually knew she was serious, like she was talking f-srsly, she said that people's taste differ, then she asked me who's your favourite rapper in Korea, Ofc and without even thinking for a second, I was like : " OFC KING ZICO " .. then she claimed that her favourite is EunHyuk and that ELF consider him as the best rapper ~

 

I still can't get over this bcs It was a huge shock for me, I thought she was acting Delulu but she's actually turned to be a Delulu, this girl, I've always respected her bcs even tho she's a newbie but she's such a hardcore ELF, but srsly THIS turned me off~~ 

 

I'm ELF, and a Proud one, but let us not overreact bcs Hyuk ain't Korea's best rapper .. I made this thread to ask you My fellow ELFs, do u really think Hyuk has enough potential to be considered as Korea's best rapper, without being Biased please ><

i think you should be able to write your own lyrics and havve knowledge about hip-hop in order to be considered a real rapper

and as far as i know, their producers write their raps for them

eunhyuk is as regular and ordinary as idol rappers come, nothing more nothing less

he's functional in super junior's songs and that's all he needs to be

i'd get into the technical aspect of his rapping, but he shows next to nothing technique-wise

 

not hating on him, i'm indifferent to him and the rest of super junior

i think the more correct term for them would be "idol rappers" and they're a different genre from the "real" rappers :D

Eunhyuk writes most of his raps in SJ's songs.

But yeah, I love him but no, he is not the best in Korea nor worldwide lol

I dont think hes as bad as many ppl try to make him out to be but there are even many idols better than him let alone non idol rappers.

despite his voice not being deep and low as other rappers, he makes a good rapper imo

he writes his own lyrics, he did the fastest rapping in SM, so i don't think your friend should be shunned by thinking that way.

maybe she doesn't follow Korea's underground hip hop to name the best rapper, but she's allowed to think that way if that's her own preference...

Among idols... he is for me one of the best. He mostly wins point for doing rap and not being all swag about it.

Still, idols pale in comparison to actual rappers. Even Zico isn't at Tiger JK level or Outsider or others.

 

I learned that there are different methods to rapping. Perhaps she simply likes Hyuk's the best out of them all. It's her personal belief so let it be it. Or you can introduce her to actual very popular korean rappers.

 

edit: she might not know a lot of korean rappers [ I don't know many myself]. As I said.. I appreciate Hyuk for not being all Swag about his rap. I like that he tries to be different.
