SarahChoi 2,382
Dear journalists, You were so quick to release articles after a misstep of him acting close with a friend and calling arrogant, but when he does something like this no one cares. And it's not just for Jonghyun but every idol out there that it's scrutinized when they have a small slip but you won't aknowladge them when they do right things. SHINee’s Jonghyun asks everyone on his birthday to remember the victims of the Sewol ferry incident realjonghyun90: Lots of people told me happy birthday. Thank you. I think sharing a situation, no matter what the situation, is something to be grateful for. With that in mind, I have something I want to say. I wish that you will not forget every person involved in the Sewol ferry incident. Among the students of Danwon High School, there were friends who had the same birthday as me. Ms. Park Ji Yoon and Mr. Kim Gun Woo were born on April 8. I’m one day late, but… if you send a free text to #1111, it will be displayed on the electronic scoreboard at the Ansan group memorial altar. Please remember the children. I never exchanged a single word with them nor have I seen them with my own eyes, but my heart is still numb and weak. They were children who breathed the same air as we. You must not forget them. At least for those children. Or for the children who remain. Or for the future.
creamcake 2,905
Bait articles and bad press bring more attentions and clicks, sadly most people don't care if an Idol does something nice.
Yuuu_Asian 1,467
People always remember the bad things more than the good ones. Jonghyun is so kind and caring
MILKSHAKE 8,076
I would assume it's because when it is noted every single time it doesn't seem sincere at some point because if it's for attention then all idols will try to get their names in the articles for doing something good. Not to say that that is a bad thing but again, at some point you'll realize that it isn't sincere and there is no way to tell. When an idol fucks up we know for sure that they have showed their true selves and it gives light on the kind of person they actually are.

plsdelete 1,338
Do something nice for yourself, only you will remember it. Do something nice for other people, and they will remember it. I definitely haven't forgotten about Jonghyun! Very all-around nice and genuine guy.
Stay Away 1,655
There's a song in Spanish that talks about news media that goes like this: "The bad it's gonna be amplified, The mediocre is going to be twisted and the good is going to be silenced." Good news don't sell advertising.

supercalifragilistic 3,020
what can we expect from journalists who like to air celebs' dirty laundries. at least his fans will read his tweet and some of them might be inspired to do something good for the victims' family. Janny 2,491
Just because there are no English articles (yet), doesn't mean there aren't Korean ones. XD http://m.entertain.naver.com/read?oid=015&aid=0003301311 One example of many articles abt this. As if the media would miss out on anything even remotely related to Sewol.
