三代目 J Soul Brothers from EXILE TRIBE / STORM RIDERS feat.SLASH

I kinda wish they'd uploaded the full music video for this one because it's obvious it's missing major scenes in the beginning and end. (They showed a bit of those scenes on the morning shows).

I mentioned in the thread for the radio rips that I don't like pop-rock songs for Sandaime, but oddly enough, I think this one suits them. They bring enough intensity to it for the video that it works. Speaking of the video, I'm pretty sure this is one of the most impressive PVs LDH has ever done next to last year's S.A.K.U.R.A. If you told someone this was ripped from a Hollywood movie, they'd probably believe you. Most of the members are decent actors, too, so that helps (some are obviously better than others, but it doesn't matter too much here).

People kept mentioning the teaser reminded them of Mad Max and I can see it in the full video. The setting is really cool and fits the song well.

EDIT: The shot for the video isn't even in the bit that's uploaded. HIRO, you troll.  :unimpressed:

I agree with those people. It did remind me of Mad Max or Tank Girl (minus the Rippers looking thing)

I find it really odd that this literally looks like the new Mad Max movie coming out

Like the timing is.......

Could be a tie-in?

I mean wouldn't have be advertised as that? I mean people copy other people all the time and who knows how long this PV was in production. I'm not trying to bring anybody down but it's eerie......

Or they really got inspired by the movie.

Continue sounding like K-pop... I'm really digging it. (Not sarcasm, I swear)

Doesn't sound like any kpop song at all tbh

This one? It's VERY Western inspired and has a pop-rock feel that sounds like earlier DBSK or Trax. That's where I'm getting Kpop inspired from

Um no. Kpop is just a westernized korean song. This doesn't even sound Kpop at all where the synthesize beats and electro rnb sound like. This song is infused with rock. It's a pop song. Also DBSK and Trax got some of their rock style in japan. Anyone remembers their v - Kei days?

No one wants to remember Tri-Angle because everything that came out of that era is tragic

The way they've gone about mixing the rock and pop is so DBSK/Trax-like, which to me is very Kpop both in terms of sound and presentation. The composition itself is much more simplistic than your typical Jpop song, and it happens to be much more Western than any of their rock-pop contemporaries. So yeah, that's very Kpop, at least to me.

Yes, DBSK/Trax got their rock through Japan... But the way they went about it was in a completely Western sense (Yoshiki was the brains of that, btw). You couldn't even call it remotely Japanese.

Jiji Press making:

The theme/idea for this was "終末ã®ä¸–界" ("Shuumatsu no Sekai", which literally means "end of the world"). The MV takes place "far in the future after the world has been devastated by the apocalypse".

"Shuumatsu" is also the word used in "Apocolyptic Fiction" ("Shuumatsumono"), so you can kinda get where they were going with this. Saying it was inspired by movies like Mad Max is probably pretty close to the truth.

I think that I prefer the S.A.K.U.R.A PV but this was pretty awesome as well! Love the post-apocalyptic theme (and nice pyrotechnics!!)

Omi's hair tho :>_>:  WHY STYLIST WHY?!!?!? Also the no show by SLASH - I was kinda expecting it but was still hoping that he'll pop out somewhere.

What I think about the song:

This is the kind of songs I want from Sandaime. SAKURA, COSMOS... the good shit indeed!

MV: Cool, but the members don't look dirty enough. Bruises! Stains! Broken clothes! I want the real apocalypse to be seen on their bodies!

About those who compare it with TVXQ's Tri-Angle: I think this Sandaime's styling ain't a disaster unlike TVXQ's back then. And if you  want to listen to a Sandaime song that actually sounds like TVXQ (at least their Yunho-Changmin lineup), chech out Glory.

Also, Avex, go to make poopoo, you look constipated...............

  • 2 weeks later...

So in the dystopian future, Japan will still use clamshell phones....

I like all the bits with falsetto.

Where did the person Tall Leader was lugging around go?

I was actually confused when Elly initially seemed to be walking backwards and then suddenly was in the back of a truck.

Hm... well, obviously it's really impressive from a production standpoint, but I feel like this (and sakura) were both missed opportunities... there could have been more of a plot beyond "the enemies die".

I had no full clue of what was happening in the video, to be honest, everything was so random, but in hard times like these the best answer is "sssshhhh, don't ask, just feel"......

And yes, a missed opportunity to show something else, you said it and I thank you for bringing it up. They could have pulled a Z-series flick at the end, that would've been wicked.......

Such a cute video. I love it when these men try to act cool because it doesn't really come off naturally from most of them. The song is better than I expected tbh.

I deem the music video cool, but I can't help agreeing with you somewhat! xD Where are the bruises, the stains, more dirtiness? It's not that they have to have the faces of somebody smelling shit, but if you choose an apocalyptic scene, don't half-ass it, no? But I can understand the "half-assery" (not necessarily half-assery, actually) since a main part of Sandaime's appeal is to teenage people and also those people not necessarily fans of gorey and nasty stuff???? Methinks, I can be wrong and I won't be offended if you correct me.

And I also agree when you say the song is better than expected. Hope Sandaime settle in the road of experimentation. Well.... more than "settle" it's more that...... they can keep trying making a solid discographic work that shows their different faces.

The music video was silly. '' Look at us with our big boy pants and our big boy vehicles doing big boy things, oh look at that explosion and look at that storm woaaah '' yeah it wasn't cool at all. It was cute though, props for trying, next time put a helmet on when you riding a bike though, there's nothing more cooler than a man with a cool helmet.

Thinking about road safety, I like you, Witchcocktor.
