It'll be 2020 and people will still say Jessica's better regardless of how much Seohyun improves. There wasn't even that significant a margin between them Seohyun said herself SM limited her singing by assigning her harmonizing and got in the way of vocal lessons (which she's taking now for musicals). What you mean is she was the only one aside from Taeyeon hitting all her high notes (and harmonizing, and carrying the chorus) for The Boys live while everyone else, including Jessica, relied on backtracks.
